Relaxing on south beach? Then make sure you come see JP. He will get you right: lounge chairs and an umbrella so you can sit back and relax. He’s working hard this summer so he can pay for college, so don’t forget to slide him a tip, though the service is great regardless.

I loved staying The Betsy, a home away from home that is exuberayting 'care'! I loved staying The Betsy, a home away from home that is exuberayting 'care'! The staff is helpful and welcoming and the ambience equally suited for relaxing pool-side as ‘working-from-home’ with desk and hi-speed reliable Wi-Fi through-out the hotel’s many meeting space options. The Classic Suite was airy, with unique design touches and a collection of books, comfortable to the point of tempting to stay in. When looking for a refuge from South Beach’s heat and buzz just wandering the hotel is highly rewarded, especially for those who appreciate contemporary art and music history. The hallways feature photographs of bands like The Stones and The Beatles. There is a quiet library, a happening rooftop pool with fabulous views and a bar. Another courtyard pool tastefully lit blue at night, discovered all while traveling the floors being drawn into top-to-bottom photographs in the elevators. Stay here for Art Basel, and this is where the show starts …see the outdoor staircase with laser carved poetry and the ‘bubble' between the buildings (14thpl/ Collins&Ocean) and continue to The Betsy’s galleries… there is much art to discover, all to the sound of music, that inspires to dance….yes, we did. ;-) Having stayed in several hotels along the beach I prefer this convenient location at one end of Ocean Drive, close to Lincoln road. We sat outside at the restaurant 'LT Steak & Seafood’ for Skinny Mohitos and delicious meals, perfect to enjoy watching the parade of people go by. Great choice for anyone who appreciates the best of all/ business and pleasure: Comfort in an inviting atmosphere paired with delicacies and art. Read less

The Betsy was absolute perfection!!!! We were greeted every day with smiles, received stellar suggestions on top notch venues to visit, and I've never met staff who could anticipate the vibe we were looking for with such ease. The food was spectacular, rooms exquisite, pools elegant and the overall experience was an ansolute pleasure. A special shout-out to some fantastic folks at the Betsy: Paul, Steven, Jamesha (who new just the kind of fun I needed!), Evan, Art and James! Each of you contributed in a special way to our wonderful experience and that was PRICELESS. Read less

My wife and I breathed a sigh of relief when we entered The Betsy. After a few nights in a nearby "party" hotel, it was so nice to walk in to the lobby of the Betsy and be greeted by jazz music and champagne. Fritz was so friendly and made sure our stay was great. I will only stay in this hotel from now on when visiting south beach.

We stayed in two different hotels during our stay in South Beach and the Betsy felt the cleanest and the most thought out experience-wise between the two. We are huge espresso fans and the coffee served in the cafe downstairs was so yummy, specially paired with the pastries! We really enjoyed the jazz music in the lobby and the rooftop pool. Our room didn't have much natural light but it was cozy and the bed was amazing. The toiletries provided smelled so good that I actually bought some for when we returned home! The hotel itself is a little confusing to get around because it's two buildings that are connected and you have to take specific elevators to get to certain locations, but we got used to it pretty quickly. Honestly, it allowed us to kind of discover different parts of the hotel at our own pace which kept it interesting and fun throughout the stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our time at the Betsy and would definitely come back! Read less
