The Plymouth Miami Beach

Miami Beach, Miami

Virgin rating

The hotel

Take yourself just one or two blocks away from the hustle and bustle of South Beach, and you'll stumble across this hidden gem! You're still right in the heart of everything Miami has to offer - restaurants, bars and shops galore - but when you're chilling with a cocktail by the Art Deco style pool here, you'll feel completely chilled at the same time. If you're more of a beach person than the pool, hop aboard the The Plymobile and they'll take you straight to the beach hut where you can grab some towels and a lounge chair, and soak up the rays from the sand. It's not all rest though - try out a bit of kayaking or paddle boarding, or simply enjoy a good old game of connect 4 with your pals. You've surely heard of the famous Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill in New York - well now you can get your sashimi fix right here in Miami, and right here at this hotel! The high ceilings of the rooms give an airy, spacious feel. If you're travelling as a couple, we'd recommend the One Bedroom Terrace Suite so you enjoy a romantic soak in the bath tub, right in your own bedroom!

This was our 5th stay ~ what a huge disappointment this time! Tired property! Pool cushions old and dirty. Housekeeping services - non existent. Even when asked for someone to clean the room at end of the day rarely done. Robes when asked for arrived dirty. Towels thread bare and old. Resort fee? For what? Will not be going back.

We luckily booked using Hyatt points which waived the $45/day resort fee the property tacks on. That said, the room itself (217) was TINY and overlooked the street. We luckily booked using Hyatt points which waived the $45/day resort fee the property tacks on. That said, the room itself (217) was TINY and overlooked the street. The sliding bathroom door was super heavy and didn’t close flush with the wall, and the sink was outside of the bathroom directly in front of the room door. The bed was so old that it was deformed on one side and you had to sink into the worn spot in the middle to be remotely comfortable. The cherry on top was that the AC was broken the entire time which meant it was a balmy 84 in the room, and they only sent someone (unannounced) at 9am the day we were checking out. The pool area was pretty nice but small and got crowded quickly - they also close the pool around 6-7 to make room for more outdoor seating for the on-site sushi restaurant. The amount of points (and/or cash) this property costs is wild for how worn out it is. We would definitely not stay again. Read less

Jefferson at the private beach took great care of us. Thank you we would definitely come back. The guys put up a umbrella up for us, asked if it was right. They made sure we were comfortable and set. When leaving they wanted to know how everything was. Also absolutely love the Plymouth Hotel. Will be back.

My wife and our 11-month-old stayed here in April 2024 and had such a wonderful experience. The staff is outstanding: super friendly, accommodating, and personable. They really help enhance the vibe you're going for on a vacation. It's in perfect, walkable proximity to the beach, Collins Ave, and the Lincoln Road shopping district. Couldn't ask for a better location. The sushi restaurant, too - PHENOMENAL!! I will stay here every time I come back to Miami Beach! Read less

The hotel was booked for us by our travel agent in the UK, who had made all the other arrangements for a cruise from Miami. We only stayed two nights but it was absolutely fine for our needs. Conveniently located for the “art deco” area of South Beach. Room was fine with a comfy bed, enough storage space, safe, good shower. There’s an Illy coffee maker – you get two free capsules for the stay and any more are chargeable at $2 each which, to be frank, is a bit miserly. There’s a nice looking pool area which we didn’t have time to use and the hotel has sunbeds on the beach. They charge a $45 a day “resort fee” for this. We’ve come across this dodge before in America – designed to make their headline room charge seem lower than they actually are. Such is life. There’s an on-site sushi restaurant, which we didn’t try. And Seasons Café which we did – coffee and basic foods like breakfast sandwiches. For a more substantial breakfast, the hotel recommends Orange Blossom, just round the corner on Collins. We went both mornings (and one evening for dinner) and would also recommend it. Read less
