The Plymouth Miami Beach

South Beach, Miami

Virgin rating

The hotel

Take yourself just one or two blocks away from the hustle and bustle of South Beach, and you'll stumble across this hidden gem! You're still right in the heart of everything Miami has to offer - restaurants, bars and shops galore - but when you're chilling with a cocktail by the Art Deco style pool here, you'll feel completely chilled at the same time. If you're more of a beach person than the pool, hop aboard the The Plymobile and they'll take you straight to the beach hut where you can grab some towels and a lounge chair, and soak up the rays from the sand. It's not all rest though - try out a bit of kayaking or paddle boarding, or simply enjoy a good old game of connect 4 with your pals. You've surely heard of the famous Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar & Grill in New York - well now you can get your sashimi fix right here in Miami, and right here at this hotel! The high ceilings of the rooms give an airy, spacious feel. If you're travelling as a couple, we'd recommend the One Bedroom Terrace Suite so you enjoy a romantic soak in the bath tub, right in your own bedroom!

It's a hidden gem..don't miss out on the pool cabana and complimentary ride to/fro South beach... The huge mall and financial district is just steps away. There's no need to Uber Lyft everywhere you go. If you got a great pair of tennis shoes, the weather is awesome and the history is right there. This is an outstanding place to enjoy inside, but the entertainment is steps away. Also cost for dining and room rates super... online reservation. Check this place out! Read less

The hotel is very stylized with a classic art-deco theme authentically woven throughout. We went for a wedding in the park next door with the reception back in the hotel. The Plymouth team did an amazing, a truly amazing, job of transforming the pool area inte a world class wedding venue! It was just gorgeous. All the lights sparkeled and the pool lighting helped to set a wonderful ambiance and mood. Bars were perfectly spaced out and drinks enjoyed by all. The bar tenders were real pros with great support staff. We all got to know them by name. The fried chicken at the Plymouth is so good it is worth a special call out here. As a 20 year Hyatt member, with most of those years either being at the old Diamond level and now the new globalists level, the Plymouth clearly did not even try to follow the policy. I was not given most of the benefits, and when I was actually allowed to use one, it came with additional policy that caused me to be unable to use the benefit. All of it was dropped, from being greated as a member, free bottles of water, upgrade to a room even when I asked to use one of my available free upgrades ahead of time. They would not respect it and could only state they would try at the time of checkin. They clearly were not ready or prepared, nor did they remember at checkin. I had to press and ask, and they just said no without checking. The hyatt has a growing problem in that they have not been able to handle their new growth through acquisitions. The hyatt loyalty program & brand has taken a hit. Every Hyatt has differences in choosing how they implement the policy. This location was clearly one that did not like the acquisition. No where is this seen with the penny pinching around the free breakfast. They have to do this since NONE of the hyatts seem to want to implement a club room which is a huge brand, quality loss especially for the business traveler. I know costs have gone up but so have the room rates. 20 years of loyalty and nothing to show of it at the Plymouth, nothing. User experience differences are super annoying and should not be difficult to Implement twith the right leadership. That cost 2 stars at a hotel that clearly could be 5 stars. I am unlikely stay there again. Read less

Wonderful friendly staff, amazing room, and comfortable bed. Yes, the water pressure is low for the shower, but these nuances are to be expected at a South Beach boutique hotel. The place is beautiful, the location can't be beaten and the hard-working staff striving to make us all happy is the real gem of this hotel. The breakfast that was… Read more

The staff was terrific: friendly, pleasant, listened well and very helpful. The bed was super comfortable. The amenities were terrific. The art deco style is beautifully maintained. The pool is lovely but we spent most of our time at the beach, swimming in the warm ocean water.

The stay was somewhat decent. Don’t let their website fool you. They do not accommodate for early check even if it’s 30 minutes early. Check your card statement after check out!!! They will charge for mini bar items that were not used! Emailing the hotel is a waste of time. They won’t respond.
