We were looking forward to have an amazing time. Sadly, the pandemic has damaged the quality of services at that property. In addition, the guest rooms need a serious renovation. The staff mentioned that Marriott has made multiple job eliminations without notice. They are struggling and it will take years to go back to luxury. We are disappointed… Read more

We had received great feedback about the property but from arrival to departure, we were disappointed. The bell staff is nowhere to be found, limited services and cleaning is average. We are disappointed with the brand and Marriott bonvoy is not honoring their benefits.

Once again, Ritz Carlton excels in delivering a superb hard and soft product. My family, including two young children, stayed here for a week just after the 4th of July. It was our second time in Bal Harbour and we were anticipating a tranquil environment and a well needed break from our city life. We were upgraded to a beautiful ocean facing suite with outstanding views, which made our in room meals so much more enjoyable. What makes the Ritz different from other competing hotels is the service. The lobby was lovely, the rooms well decorated, beds comfortable, but, above all, the service from each staff person, including valet, receptionist, housekeeping, pool attendent, and bartender, is what stands out. Staff at the Ritz go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and special regardless of who you are or how you look. They engaged with our daughters daily and seemed to care about who we were and how our stay was going. Leon, the pool attendand most of the days we were there, especially stood out. He made such a strong effort to serve the guests, bringing out extra floaties for our daughters and going above and beyond each day. This type of experience is consistent at the Ritz Carlton properties we have visited around the world and it's what makes us choose Ritz when we have the option. Well done team! Hope to return in the future! (Also - COVID precautions were followed throughout our stay by all staff and guests). Read less

The hotel staff was very nice and attentive. I give five stars for the hotel & restaurant staff, but the beach staff was lacking. The beach was gross , it was filled with a huge amount of seaweed. It was also a bit tough to find staff to get a drink at the beach. Most people hung out by the pool bc the beach was so dirty. Also, most of the rooms… Read more

Stayed for a week with my family as a beach getaway. Had very high hopes. Rooms are very nicely done and decorated. Housekeeping was excellent. Several things in the room were broken or not functioning but I think part of this was the fact that they had just opened after being closed for two months from coronavirus. That is certainly understandable. Engineering promptly came to take care of issues. As others have mentioned, Ocean front is not oceanfront. It is Ocean view from an angle. The hotel is angled to the side and true ocean front is reserved for those living in the Ritz residences. The website is deceiving. Not sure why this is not made clear at the time of booking and paying extra for Ocean front. Valet parking is your only option and is $38 per day. That is reasonable. One major concern is that virtually none of the guests wear masks nor are they told to wear a mask upon check-in or otherwise. Only staff wear masks. Given the current situation especially in Miami - I believe masks should be mandatory especially on elevators. The hotel needs to reinforce this. At the time of this writing it is predicted Florida will be the next epicenter. Marriott should take this into account. There’s a single restaurant on the property and a single small bar/restaurant area near the pool. I think the property in general is not your typical Ritz Carlton. It is not an opulent, expansive property with gardens and an elaborate pool. We had an average stay. We were hoping for much better given the Ritz Carlton name and the nearly $1000 per night cost.
