The hotel

This isn’t just a holiday resort, it’s a world in itself with so many restaurants and leisure amenities to choose from. For starters, there’s the Arnold Palmer Zenga Company redesigned 18-hole golf course and 4 heated outdoor swimming pools, including 1 wading pool for the kids, one for the sporting amongst you, one for the entire family and one that treasures an altogether quieter atmosphere! The Spa at Shingle Creek is perfect if you want to pamper yourself, with an Everglades scrub and body wrap perhaps or an aromatherapy massage. Alternatively, challenge some new-found friends to a game of tennis, basketball or sand volleyball or simply admire the abundance of nature that surrounds you on a nature trail. Sometimes we say when it comes to dining look no further than your hotel, well, with this hotel, you really don’t need to stray further afield — there are eateries, lounges and bars galore! Mi Casa Tequila Taqueria tailor-makes guacamole to your taste whilst A Land Remembered serves some of the finest steaks in Orlando. Cala Bella, with its high-arched vaulted ceilings is the place to feast on Italian cuisine or tuck into sumptuous buffet dishes courtesy of Cafe Osceola. Guest rooms are very spacious indeed with stunning views of the golf course, from the perfectly manicured fairways and greens to the picturesque creek resplendent with cypress trees — making it even harder to believe that the world’s best theme parks are just a few minutes away!

The hotel was beautiful, clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding. The environment was child-friendly, so this would be a good hotel for those visiting Disney World. Pools were large, with a gated kid pool. I stayed here for a business conference. I really enjoyed the hotel and the atmosphere. The good- beautiful surroundings, plush rooms, great views, restaurant choices, excellent bellhop service and room service. I ordered a salad, soup and appetizer. I was so overwhelmed with portion sizes p,us the food was really good. I ended up able to keep the salad in the room refrigerator which was very nice. There were a couple of things that I found disappointing. One is that the lamp had a bunch of dust on it in my room. When I turned the la,p on a poof of dust came flying onto the bed. It made me wonder what else wasn’t clean. Also one of my towels was old and threadbare. I just expected better from this quality of a hotel. The other thing to be aware of is the parking fees of $18 per day for self park and more $$ for valet. I called the concierge to find out if I had a visitor come for breakfast at the restaurant if they would have to pay for parking. She said yes. I then later found out she could have had her parking validated. I’m still not clear on the policy. We chose to eat at “The Diner” instead which was good. Otherwise it was a great stay! Read less

The resort is set in a beautiful area. It is easily accessible with a golf course and several activities on site. My only issue with the entire stay is that the weight / fitness room had an additional charge...?? I am not sure that I ever stayed at a resort or hotel that charged additional to use their fitness room...lol Oh well.

Arrived & although my room was late-arrival guaranteed, my room had been given away!!! After traveling all day, we had to stay at another resort. Reservations were made for a conference months in advance. So disappointing & such a practice! I would not recommend this resort given this type of lack of respect for customers.

Overall I was pleased with my stay here. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The staff I encountered were all helpful and professional. I also appreciated having a small refrigerator. (Some places have only had a "wet bar" fridge you can't use for your own drinks). A little updating could be done; the carpet in my room was clean, but it was also rather worn. While the water pressure for the shower was perfectly adequate, when I took a tub bath, the water pressure was terrible; it took forever to get the tub filled adequately. I didn't have much of a view, either; my room looked out on a lower floor rooftop. It wasn't perfect but I would be willing to stay there again. Read less
