I spend 110+ nights per year in all level of accommodations and travel to Orlando regularly. I'm middle aged and not high maintenance. Additionally due to my industry/company, I was required to travel during the entire COVID nightmare. I totally understand the challenges and changes the pandemic brought to hotels and have a great deal of respect for the hospitality industry as a whole. Since it's opening; I've stayed at Shingle Creek at least 20 times. The staff are all well trained, professional, friendly and genuinely seem to want to be there. Honestly Hilton and Marriott could take pointers... Additionally the rooms, public spaces and property in general is very clean, smells nice and functional. Areas that have noticeably changed for the worst: Guest room air conditioning was loud, not efficient and with a bad thermostat; had to be left on 24/7 to keep the room at 70 degrees. Air conditioning in general public areas seems weak too... Only standard size pillows on king bed; kind of cheap. No grab bars anywhere around the tub is dangerous. TV in room extremely slow to respond with limited channels. Up/down directional lights on elevators broken/burnt out. Building exterior broken/burnt out lights. Public areas missing seating/furniture? Downstairs market was regularly out of bottled water and beverages. Hot food options are very limited and nothing healthy or modern. Parking can be difficult when there's a large group on property. At $30.00 per night expensive when it's a mile from the guest rooms. Read less

The staff have been brilliant, reassuring during hurricane Milton and just to add, there was no damage or flooding to the hotel at all. It felt really safe. Austin one of the restaurant managers shot used my son with balloons and a cake on his birthday and staff bought up a bottle of champagne for my husband on his birthday. They wowed me. Also the view over the pools and golf course is beautiful. Nice not to have other buildings in our view. The hotel is also very close to everything and handily right opposite a shopping complex. Have stayed at this hotel several times now, so I thought I knew what to expect, how wrong I was. Firstly the positives, the hotel and rooms were clean, albeit somewhat dated showing signs of wear. The facilities were fine, with a good selection of dining options if you are lucky enough to find availability at your desired time. All staff encountered were professional and courteous during our stay. The Bar is well stocked and has some very knowledgable, engaging staff. Special mention to Jacob who took care of our every request, even making drinks to our specification, and was a tremendous ambassador for the property. The pool areas were good and well serviced with options for all. However, the perennial problems caused by this property being primarily a conference hotel caused significant problems for us throughout our stay. When a conference is in session parking is nothing short of a nightmare for holidaymakers. Despite taking my disabled parking badge, I was rarely able to get anywhere near the allocated spots in the forward car park. Worse still, people were parking anywhere and everywhere lots without disabled badges and many not even in marked bays. How difficult can it be to properly manage the situation.? On one occasion, I believe it was a three day conference for the Department of Correction, the only parking available during the conference was in the very end of the rear car park, necessitating an almost 600y walk to the hotel lobby, where you were met by a huge queue for the lifts. This had to be repeated back and forward if you were driving to visit a park or attraction. There is a shuttle service to assist getting to the car park, but I can honestly say that not once in our two week stay were we offered a lift either in or out. Overall, I felt a Managerial influence was sorely needed. Read less
