We stayed at the Cabana Bay resort this September. We were booked to stay at the Adventura but it was temporarily closed by Universal. They moved us to Cabana Bay. Even though this resort is more family friendly we still had a good time. The rooms were clean and a decent size. The Fridge was also roomy for a mini fridge. We were able to fit orange juice, soda, tea and water. At this time they are not doing bed service so you text them for extra towels, blankets etc. They were very fast at getting us what we needed. The shuttle buses were very prompt and we always had a seat. We had to do temperature checks everyday and were given a color wristband. We were also required to wear masks except for the pool and lazy river. The staff was friendly and helpful. We only had breakfast at the Bayliner and Starbucks. Starbucks has really good sausage and cheddar English Muffin sandwiches. Volcano bay was super close and took like 5 minutes to get there. So convenient. They had a large gift shop. There was bowling but we didn't try that or the exercise room. Read less

Universal Studios and Cabana Bay did a great job with social distancing and kept everything sanitize. We felt safe and had a great time! Highly recommend a view of the volcano. My son loved it. You can hear the volcano erupting throughout the day and a beautiful view of it at night.

Overall the Hotel was acceptable. The rooms were fair for the money. Not as well kept up as they should be considering they have been closed for months. They could do better with controlling the guest and the guidelines for the COVID issues. If guest cant follow the rules send them packing. After all, its for everyone's protection.

Horrible food selection of food. No rain coverage . Parking is 18 a day and very challenging. During my stay I experienced the gate broken and we had to stay in line for over 30 minutes waiting for attendees who never showed up in the rain .

Water pressure on the shower is decent. Pools are huge. Check in was easy. Text messaging the front desk with questions/requests was super easy and works very well. Marriott/Hilton/etc take note. Walls are thin but my partner and I were at the end of building 6 during a time where the hotel was nowhere near full so not the biggest deal The only negative here that had zero effect on the visit and more of an observation: you can tell this hotel is just not well built (i.e. Built as cheaply as possible). Although it is only 5 years old you would swear it was built 15-20 years ago. The bathroom had so many structural imperfections that I couldnt help but notice when showering. The exterior of the building already looks really tired and ready for a facelift. Read less
