Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

Disney's Art of Animation Resort pays homage to four Disney and Disney.Pixar films: The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo and Cars. Boasting nearly 2,000 rooms altogether, the sea-inspired Little Mermaid section of the hotel sleeps up to four people. In the other three sections, there are Family Suites easily sleeping up to six people. All are relevantly themed promising a magical experience for young and old alike. They also boast a great range of amenities with fully-equipped kitchens in the suites an added bonus should the midnight munchies strike! Outside are four courtyards, each devoted to one of the films with larger than life characters smiling down at you everywhere you look. King Triton is a definite highlight, towering 35 foot into the air and very impressive indeed. The main swimming pool is a great meeting place with sun terraces and loungers galore. There’s also a pool bar to order snacks and perhaps a cocktail or two. For a more relaxing ambience, head to one of the quieter pools, just as lovely but with less hustle and bustle! A themed food court makes dining fun, serving family favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The room itself was somewhat cutely decorated, very Disney clean, no complaints there. A couple things that made me give only three stars included there was no lotion in the room, no coffee maker (and a decent hike to the cafe) and the rooms were outdoor rooms compared to the other themed buildings. For little kids I get the allure, but since I was by myself (for work) I wasn't wowed and would not stay again. I did walk through the cars area and that seemed much cuter, so perhaps that is the better area to stay, or Nemo. Read less

The service was what I would expect from a Disney resort - accommodating and friendly. The resort itself is large and the walk between buildings was more than I have experienced at other (non-Disney) resorts. The resort itself is large and the walk between buildings was more than I have experienced at other (non-Disney) resorts. My only issue was with the room delivery - I ordered a gift to be delivered to the room, but they wouldn't deliver it without someone to sign as it had alcohol in it. I was fine with this, but I ended up having to sign for it at the front desk and carry it back to the room myself, trying to sneak it past the person it was for. It would have been more convenient if I could have signed earlier and just had it delivered during the day! Read less

The staff were super friendly and courteous the hallways were covered in beautiful art work from the movies. We got our text just before 3:00 but didn’t go back till after 8:00 to our room. We went straight to our room in building #9 in the little mermaid side. With our wrist bands we were able to enter our room and it was nice and clean. Very happy with our stay and we will definitely beck returning for another visit. Read less

Our room was the Cars theme. Everything was just darling. So happy we chose to stay there. It was so convenient. We were so close to the Skytram to take us to the different parks. There was no need to rent a car. We took advantage of the buses and the tram.

We took our 3 year old grandson for his first visit to Disney. We stayed in a Lion King family suite for three days. There was plenty of room for the four of us. Loved the decor and the added bonus of having 2 bathrooms. All the beds were comfortable and there were plenty of clean linens and towels in our room. I actually loved the Murphy bed! It was a easy walk to the pool, lobby and food court. As adults we enjoyed hanging out at the outside bar. Transportation to the parks and Disney Springs was good although it did require a longer walk to the transportation areas when returning to the resort. Only downside was one day it was so late when someone came to service our room we had to decline the room refresh. Read less
