Disney's Art of Animation Resort

Walt Disney World, Orlando

The hotel

Disney's Art of Animation Resort pays homage to four Disney and Disney.Pixar films: The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo and Cars. Boasting nearly 2,000 rooms altogether, the sea-inspired Little Mermaid section of the hotel sleeps up to four people. In the other three sections, there are Family Suites easily sleeping up to six people. All are relevantly themed promising a magical experience for young and old alike. They also boast a great range of amenities with fully-equipped kitchens in the suites an added bonus should the midnight munchies strike! Outside are four courtyards, each devoted to one of the films with larger than life characters smiling down at you everywhere you look. King Triton is a definite highlight, towering 35 foot into the air and very impressive indeed. The main swimming pool is a great meeting place with sun terraces and loungers galore. There’s also a pool bar to order snacks and perhaps a cocktail or two. For a more relaxing ambience, head to one of the quieter pools, just as lovely but with less hustle and bustle! A themed food court makes dining fun, serving family favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Disney's Art Of Animation resort is a wonderful place to stay at WDW if you have a family or are just a child at heart. The many different themed rooms display the exquisite amount of work put into the resort. As many big statues surround the pools, you feel as if you are in a Disney movie! If you have younger kin, there are multiply splash pads. The food is spectacular if you have good taste. Fantastic entertainment with movies on the big green most nights of the week. The suites are nice and roomy with 2 twin sized beds, a pull out couch, and a queen sized bed which doubles as a table. 2 bathrooms, a sink and mini fridge, microwave and two 20 inch TVs. They have fantastic room service and get you anything you need at any time. Throughout the week, they have many fun activities, such as, tie dye, games by the big blue pool, and as i mentioned, movies by the green grass. If you need anything, the resort shop will take care of that. Over alll, IT IS SO AMAZINGlY PERFECT! Read less

After an 8 year hiatus from Disney, took my 7 year old stepson and my husband - both of whom had never been. We decided to stay in the Cars Suite at the Art of Animation which provided a separate bedroom for us and allowed my stepson to choose between the pull out in the living room or the murphy bed (a bit closer to the door). We paid a little extra for the suite but well worth it! The room comes with two bathrooms - one specifically in master bedroom area. It also has a kitchenette area which worked well in the mornings when we ate in our room prior to heading to the parks. The room can comfortably fit 4-5 people. They fulfilled our request of Building 3 which is a short walk to the Cozy Cone pool as well as the main hotel and the Big Blue Pool. We visited the quick service dining area during our only day when we stayed at the hotel and swam in the pools. It was adequate and definitely had lots of choices. We played in the arcade and my stepson worked on a mickey tie dye shirt which he loves! For a value resort, it definitely checked off all the boxes for us. I have stayed at most of the Deluxe properties in the past but for this trip and with a younger son who loves Cars this was the obvious and smarter choice. Hope you all enjoy your trip to Disney! Image of the Tripadvisor rating Resort was nice, but rooms are small and overpriced considering now you have to pay a parking fee

While the skyliner did shorten the commute to two parks, sometimes the wait times for busses were excessive. Three months later we stayed at a neighboring resort that was cheaper, had a regular shuttle service and even when we used Lyft it was a nicer room with better resort amenities for a far better price. I am a Disney fan, but am not sure I will be using their resorts in the future. Too many better and more reasonable alternatives elsewhere. I am truly embarrassed for Disney and their move to charge for parking and/or resort fees. Read less

I like to try as many of the Disney hotels as I can when I visit, so was excited to stay here for the first time. I got a Little Mermaid room as that was the only option to choose from. The room itself was somewhat cutely decorated, very Disney clean, no complaints there. A couple things that made me give only three stars included there was no lotion in the room, no coffee maker (and a decent hike to the cafe) and the rooms were outdoor rooms compared to the other themed buildings. For little kids I get the allure, but since I was by myself (for work) I wasn't wowed and would not stay again. I did walk through the cars area and that seemed much cuter, so perhaps that is the better area to stay, or Nemo. Read less
