Disney's BoardWalk Inn

Walt Disney World, Orlando

Virgin rating

The hotel

This magical waterfront property will take you back to 1930s America with its mix of buildings steeped in old-fashioned charm. It’s smack, bang in the middle of the lively BoardWalk with picturesque views of the harbour and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to explore. Kids will adore the swimming pool complex with its 61-metre water slide and white-sand beach, while adults can enjoy a leisurely swim in the quiet pool. It’s particularly fun to stay at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn as the whole area comes alive at night when duelling pianos get to work to the delight of the crowds, and everyone gets into the holiday mood. It’s dead easy to get to Epcot on the water taxi or by foot, and the restaurants of Disney’s Yacht Club and Disney’s Beach Club Resorts are close by for dining variety.

A nice reprieve from the over stimulation of the parks. Staff is friendly and helpful. One complaint: In an effort to catch a much needed late morning nap, we put the "do not disturb" sign on the door. We were woken from a deep slumber when houskeeping called to ask what time they could come to the room. What good is the do not disturb request if they are going to wake us with a call rather than a knock. It was quite unsettling and we were unable to go back to sleep. A text or note under door would be a better way to go about this. Read less

Considering what you pay you would think you get high end service. Bell hop 40 minutes to bring up the luggage, TV does not work, internet is not strong enough for me to steam YouTube TV ( because TV didn’t work). Called and the “engineer” says not all Channels work, I said none are working. I told her the internet is weak, she said “that is a… Read more

I expect better from Disney, they did not deliver. Read less

Another brilliant Disney hotel. We usually stay at the Beach club, but our children are now older so decided to switch things up with the Boardwalk Inn. We were not disappointed - an amazing hotel, impressive facilities, genuinely attentive staff, immaculately clean, the best location ever (literally between Hollywood studios and Epcot) with a mass of free transport options. You can catch the boat, get the bus, get the sky rail and ACTUALLY use your legs and walk (5 mins Epcot, 10 mins Hollywood studios). It really does deliver, really couldn’t find fault with it, sunrise to beyond sunset of fun, fun, fun - so much to do, so little time. I guess the only hitch is the price, for Brits (not sure how it measures up for locals) it really is eye wateringly expensive. Just when you think there’s nothing else to pay for, there’s so many add-obs - Genie+, lightening lanes (which had to be booked at 7am) and a very expensive food bill. We ended up cancelling a couple of restaurant reservations as it was just all a bit too much - bit sad really. The extra benefits of staying at a deluxe Disney resort don’t exist anymore. We spent the week after at a Universal hotel and it was so much cheaper and more straightforward - you really feel the benefit of staying at one of their deluxe resorts. Great hotel, just feel Disney need to address pricing as the CEO admitted recently. Read less

If you are an Epcot lover like we are then this is the perfect hotel for you! It is at Epcot’s backdoor and is a short walk or boat ride away. The rooms have been updated and were extremely comfortable. There is a quiet pool if you don’t have little ones in tow that I thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel itself does not have any restaurants but there… Read more

This resort gets overlooked because of its proximity to Beachclub & Yacht club. I've stayed at all 3 and Beachclub is superior. It's quiet, less crowded, and closer to both EPCOT & Hollywood Studios. The theming is amazing and the boardwalk is so much fun. At nights they have street performers and movies on the lawn.
