The hotel

Tropical gardens, lavish luaus and calm waves characterise Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Gentle people, laughter and good cheer help every member of the family to capture that laid-back South Pacific mood in no time at all. Rooms are airy and have a tropical feel with bamboo and wood décor. When exploring the resort, tell the kids to look out for the unique Kukai Nut tree. The only one of its kind in the state of Florida, the tree was brought to the Walt Disney World Resort from its native Hawaii. The hotel is on the monorail system that will whizz you to the Magic Kingdom Park.

It was a great opportunity to truly relax at Disney World. One of the highlights was our breakfast at Kona Cafe, where we tried the famous Tonga Toast and Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes. Although we didn't enjoy Kona Cafe for dinner, everyone had recommended breakfast, and they were right. Trader Sam's was as great as always, and watching the Electrical Water Pageant and Happily Ever After from the beach area was truly magical. Read less

This is one of our favorite places to stay!! The view of the fireworks from the pool is unbeatable. They have good quick service food. Always activities for the kids on the lawn. We just love the place. It’s a must try for a Disney family. Kids will love it

Had a great stay. The theming here is so good and the lobby is so welcoming. Can get some dole whips right outside. Lots of great food options onsite or a short monorail ride away. The monorail is a huge perk of staying here for Magic Kingdom as you go through security leaving and then can bypass it for the park. You are able to see the fireworks right from the beach. The main pool is always loud and busy! Even with construction going on nearby it was quiet and no issues so don’t let that deter you from staying here. The room was great - the 5th sleeper is perfect for a family of 4 so everyone has their own bed. Love the split bathroom for getting ready in the mornings too! Read less

This hotel has the unique distinction of being both the most expensive and worst. Hotel experiences. First, we weee placed in a room next to where the monorail runs. I figured that it was only going to run during park. Hours, but it ran ALL night long. I don’t sleep at all the 2 nights we were there. The walls are very thin and there was a room nearby that had children that were up and screaming until after midnight. I asked for a room change and was told that I would have to check out st 11;00 and leave my bags at the bell hop and tiger check back in after 3:00, which basically takes away the whole purpose of staying two nights and was extremely inconvenient. After getting out of bed try first night I noticed blood stains on the sheets. The lobby is nice, but the buildings that contain the rooms are dumpy and gross. We needed additional pillows, etc., for the pullout bed and some.additional personal hygiene items we forgot. They told us they would be delivered in 1/2 hour and it was over and hour and half of what I requested was not there and the housekeeping person then proceeded to argue with me that they didn’t tell her to bring the additional items. This is no where near a luxury resort and I would not stay again or ever recommend anyone to stay here, especially at the prices they charge. Read less

Great stay, from start to finish. Was here for thirteen nights, family of five and it never failed. Asked for a balcony on arrival, so the wife and I had a place to hide from the kids, but none were free until the next day. Asked for a balcony on arrival, so the wife and I had a place to hide from the kids, but none were free until the next day. Stuck with our Juliet and despite the adjacent building work, it never affected our stay. Mousekeeping were brilliant. Room amazingly clean. If you like your shower, like me, these are poor, but only fault. Oh and a very slow lift. Good selection of bars, shops on site entertainment. Two pools are great, though we preferred the quieter one, with the drink machines. Feedback - please prioritise hotel guests over others inside trader Sam’s. So many none guests stop here, which is fine, but we pay a lot of money to be here and we shouldn’t have to wait two hours for a drink inside. Would come back, 90%. Would have been 100% for a full balcony - given the length we stopped, surely we must have been a valued guest, Read less
