Saving grace of this hotel is the location. The location is fantastic and impossible to beat in my opinion. The shortcomings are the rooms and response to a serious concern. We checked into a standard room and it was small and dimly lit but we were willing to work with it. The problem was that the room had an AWFUL musty, wet odor. Unbearable. It smelled sweaty and wet. We cranked the ac hoping to dry it out but it was just awful. I suffer from mold allergies and immediately knew I could not tolerate the musty moisture. The main desk was less than helpful saying there was nothing they could do. After an hour on the phone, they said they found a room but we had to vacate ours immediately and we could not get into the new room for an undetermined amount of time. They said we didn’t even have 30 mins to shower and needed to immediately leave the room. We did and then my husband ended up waiting 45 mins for the bellman to come. (Side note, he literally said that the room “stunk”—it truly did). After several hours, we still did not have a new room. It took a tremendous amount of effort to get a room. It was a travel day and we were exhausted. We finally got settled and to sleep in a new room very late. It was a tense way to start a vacation. Our new room was fair at best. It did not have a bathtub which is fine but difficult with young kids. The decor was tired and worn. Housekeeping was stingy with towels and toilet paper! Overall the experience was fair. The hotel room felt dirty all the time—thing such as: running out of TP, stains in the toilet, no fan in the bathroom, poor lighting, popcorn walls and ceilings, sinks that were slow to drain, an odor in the mini-fridge, and HAIR that was not ours on the new room shower wall when we arrived to the room. The location was the only thing that kept us from leaving. We will not return and recommend trying elsewhere. Read less

Starting with check in I stood in the regular line being passed by people in the Marriott Bonvoy Elite line. I have Marriott Bonvoy and stay at a Marriott at least once a year but have not hit elite status so I had to wait as more and more people went through the elite line. Finally Zivan called me over and he wore a tag saying he was in training but he did a great job, was friendly, and he said my room was ready before check in time. I was on the 14th floor facing the parking lot, which is the room type I booked, and that would have been fine because I was only there for one night for my birthday but there was construction going on below my room so I was not able to take a short nap before dinner and it woke me up very early in check out day and I had planned on sleeping in a little. The room I was in had a constant hum, not sure if it was the AC unit or something outside on the roof outside my room. I heard dues slamming all day and evening. The two beds were super small which worked for me being by myself but if I brought my hubby and adult children it would not have made for a great nights sleep. I am not a fan of the escalators going to the ground floor from the lobby that goes to the pools and boats. I did find out later I can take a different the elevator down than the one from my room but I did not like switching elevators either. When I ordered a frozen drink and a burger by the pool it said a 45 minute wait which was fine but I decided to get wet in the pool real quick while watching for my food and I saw a lady with a drink stop by my chair so I got out and saw a piece of paper laying there saying they missed me. I took it to the restaurant/bar and gave them the paper and then they bright my drink back with my burger but my frozen drink was melted so I drank my Miami Vice unfrozen. This resort is not for me and especially would not work for my whole family so I would rather purchase a Disney room that has a discount or through a DVC rental company for around the same price or just a little more. You cannot beat this hotel for amenities comfort price and location in the WDW area. We took a family vacation here and stayed 9 nights, the best part of this hotel is the location. Less than a 15 minute walk to epcot & Hollywood studios with boat transportation. It puts you in the yacht club, beach club, & boardwalk area at a lower price. The pool area is spacious and open late but be aware there are no life guards if you have kids, it offers laundry facilities which was great for a long stay. It also gives you extended and early park hours which is a big plus. It often has business conferences making the lobby loud and full at most times, which was fine for us because we were on the go most of the time and the room itself was always quiet. I tried eating at picabu on the first morning and it was hands down the worst overpriced food ever made although the employees were great as were the staff at the front desk. We were served by someone who appeared to be doing some training, he helped set up our hotel in the disney app and made a last minute change to our reservation at our request without any additional charges to do so. The biggest issue I had with the resort was the cleanliness of the room, under the top sheet were lots of stains on the bed and somehow there was ants on the 11th floor. My son dropped a small piece of food a few times on the floor and in the morning when we noticed it, it was covered with little ants. We didn't see any other than that although they would have been hard to spot with the design and color on the floor. If we had something on a counter or in the garbage they didn't seem to appear so it was an odd situation. My wife talked me out of saying something because our trip was almost over but I mentioned it as we were leaving. All of that aside, I work in retail and understand the challenges of pest control and would stay here again because of the location of the hotel and the price associated with it compared to its neighboring resorts.
