We were severely disappointed in our stay. We have stayed here many times in the distant past and have always loved this hotel. This trip, we could not believe the conditions and situations we were in. Here are some highlights: - We chose to check-in with the mobile app virtual key. We waited until 6pm on the day of check in with still no response that the room was ready (despite a 4pm check-in) that we reached out via the chat. They said that our room has been ready and that the key doesn't work in the app so we had to come to the front desk to put down a CC. I explained that I confirmed my CC in the mobile check-in and they said that we still had to come to the front desk. Besides not wanting to come to the front desk as the virtual key should have helped avoid that, we wasted two hours waiting to come check in because we were not communicated to properly about this issue. - The first room we were sent to was on the 1st floor. The hallway carpet was disgusting and the hall had a musty smell throughout. We got to the room to find a do not disturb sign, which was strange. Then after the key didn't work, we realized that we were given someone else's room!!! We came back to the front desk and they acknowledged that this was indeed someone else's room and tried to give us another room on the same floor. We explained the smell and gross carpet and they thankfully gave us a different floor. - The new floor (7th) had a similarly worn and bunching up hall carpet. You could almost trip on the bunched up part. When we finally got to the room, the humidity was so high that everything was wet. We tried lowering the A/C to combat this but the humidity remained. There was no bathroom fan, so everything remained wet in that area the entire stay. I do want to point out that the staff, food, and experience at Rosa Mexicano was superb. Despite that, the hotel room experience was so poor that we decided to leave early after our Hollywood Studios party event (we checked out at about 1:30AM on the day of check out). I have never done that in my life nor have I posted any reviews for a hotel online before either. We were just so disappointed in what should have been a 4-star experience (especially for the price) that we will not be staying here again and have major concerns about the Marriott brand. Read less

The woman who helped us at the front desk told us we could upgrade to a room with a balcony went over costs and everything and then came back and said she couldnt do it. Was strange. The pool was amazing! My kids loved it! We also used the swan boats, arcade, played pool and my kids rented a basketball. Room was clean however room service only came once and we were there for 4 days. The one time they did come they made the beds but did not take the garbage or give us any towels. We also had to call twice to get the roll away bed we signed for and also for more towels and waters. This was a pretty big Con for us but overall we had a great time and will definitely be back! Staff on front desk mostly unhelpful and unfriendly. Appeared inconvenienced when I was highlighting check in issues. I specifically asked for a room away from elevators and noise, and the first room was right beside elevator, second room was over loading bay and bin collection area which was very noisy. Third room was in a quite spot with a nice view, however I was not offered help with bags when moving rooms. Eventually one helpful staff member spoke to a Manager, however was informed I wouldn’t be obliged another room move - I explained I wasn’t a regular room mover that the initial request for a quiet room away from elevators was not met. The fan in third room was so loud (even when switched off) and-it was difficult to sleep, I didn’t bother saying anything. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean however, very cold. Food lovely at restaurants, however not good value for money and very overpriced … $10 dollars for a btl of Corona, nearly $50 for salad, fries and a btl of Beer. Lobby area bustling and staff in shops in lobby area were very helpful. Great location near board walk and Epcot. Overall, ok experience however I wouldn’t stay here again, very dull vibe going on overall. Read less

They said it would be fixed but never was. Room was not serviced for two days and we were told that housekeeping probably forgot. We killed a huge roach in our room and then were locked out of our room twice. On both occasions, went down to get replacement key but they didn’t work and engineering had to come to fix the door, which took a long time. The resort is filthy and is not the place to come if you expect even average service. We wouldn’t return here even if they paid us to do so. Read less

This is the first time we stayed at a non-Disney hotel at WDW. As most readers already know, the Swan and Dolphin are on the grounds of WDW, but are Marriott properties. That being said you get all the perks of staying in a Disney hotel. The biggest advantage of this hotel is the location. EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and the Boardwalk are all in walking distance or a short ferry ride. When I walked into the lobby it reminded me of a Las Vegas hotel without a casino. Front desk staff very helpful, especially Pierre who helped us get into our room early. Hotel getting a little frayed and needs updating - but our room was very clean. Many good - but expensive - restaurants on site. Tip - parking is $35/day. Do what we did and take an Uber/Lyft from the airport. It cost us $30 to the hotel and $38 back to the airport. Considering the cost of a rental car, parking, gas, and tolls - you could save quite a bit of money if you plan on only staying in WDW. Also, you can take the skyline from EPCOT to the Riviera resort, then catch a nonstop shuttle to Disney Springs - the quickest way to get there without a car and enjoy a lovely view. Read less
