Absolutely loved our stay at Meedhupparu so much so that we have booked again for January 2025. The resort desk at Male took our bags and checked us in for the seaplane before waving us off on the coach for the short drive to the seaplane departure lounges. The lounge offered showers, changing facilities. A good selection of hot & cold soft drinks and food. It also had a large balcony that overlooks the seaplanes as they take off and land. The seaplane was a fantastic experience (bucket list) and was included as part of our package. It took about 45 minutes and landed at a neighbouring island where we were then whisked away on a fast boat for a quick crossing to Meed. Check-in was smooth and pleasant with you being greeted with a cool refreshing drink. We were then taken by a buggy to our room. We booked a Deluxe Beach Bungalow and were given room 167. This room was sublime, it is located on the north side at the very end of the island. It was literally a stone’s throw to the sea. The room was large, had a central located bed offering sea views and a huge bathroom with the typical outside shower feature. The bungalows are semi attached and in a horseshoe. Meed offers a good selection of restaurants and bars with all but the overwater one being available as part of the all inclusive. We made use of all of them and all were very good. The main restaurant is a buffet style, Thavaa is a’la carte and you need to book (book on arrival and make sure you book both a lunch and dinner). Café Más is next door to this and also offers a great selection of food with great sea views. The snorkelling on the north side of the island is great, the reef/drop is a short swim from the beach and the sea life and corals are superb. I booked the Manta and Turtle trips and both were excellent (would recommend these, they have minimum numbers so be flexible around these. I checked the day before and moved my bookings around). To finish off our stay we spent the last 4 nights in the overwater villas. This is a separate resort within Meed, you still have use of all of the island but at the same time you have your a private beach, pool restaurant and bar. You also have a butler who is contactable via WhatsApp 24/7. The water villa was next level and comes with a jacuzzi bath on the balcony. The food and service in the restaurant is also to another level. Was very sad to leave Meedhupparu and cannot wait to go back. I can see now why the island has so many repeaters. Barefoot Island ✅ Great staff ✅ Excellent All Inclusive ✅ Reef ✅ Desert Island feel ✅ Finally thanks to the following:- Nirdosh (Butler) Ali (Room Boy - 167) Chamara Lasantha (Bar Tender) Samooh All staff were fantastic! Great resort for lots of reasons: - stunning island, just like the photos show - friendly staff - special thanks to Apoorva in the Sufura restaurant, Nishan in the Jaafaiy restaurant, the 19 yo Maldivian waiter at the Halaboli Bar (didn't get his name) and the pool attendant (didn't get his name) - these four staff went out of their way to make… Read more

The checkin staff member brushed this off as a 30 year anniversary of a holiday not of our relationship. In addition, we were given two single beds. I understand that the Maldives are a Muslim country, however alcohol is served all day and pork is served in all the restaurants ... It was a little disappointing and the only reason we haven't given the resort a review of 5. Apart from this, the resort was outstanding! Read less

Want the warmest, most friendly barman in the world? Go to the Albino Bar and say Hi to Gayan. A delightful personality and mixes a cocktail fit for the King! We visited every day and despite the many guests he remembered our favourite drink …. Always served with a huge smile. Great guy.
