The beautiful waiters in the water villa restaurant always took care of us and were so friendly, special shout out to Aish & Nihad. We loved the easy access to the water from our villa. Snorkeling was fantastic. The food was also SO delicious. Overall such a great experience and such a beautiful spot. We were in villa 803. Read less

In particular the staff in the hotel Apoorva, Abdullah, Pawan (chef), and Anant (chef) were so kind and friendly every day. They made us, and in particular my daughter, feel really welcome and looked after. Before we travelled, we had worried that our daughter might be bored and not have any other children her age to play with. We need not have worried as there were lots of families and the Kids Club provided a good range of activities. She cried when we left as she had enjoyed herself so much! The pool, beach, bars, and water sports options were all really great. We enjoyed everything the island had to offer and really had the best family holiday! Read less

The waiters in the main restaurant at the kids corner and in the Indian restaurant were also extremely nice and accommodating, especially Preeti. We were in very good hands at the diving school on site. Our thanks go to Dasha, Sharkoor and Marco who taught us to dive in a professional and very friendly way. We were able to collect many unique and lasting memories underwater. Read less

Lovely place with many good points - clean and beautiful. Variety of food and drink. Offer of water sports was good and a quiet and chilled vibe overall. However, was disappointed with a few things that could have easily been resolved but were not ☹️ We stayed in a Deluxe beach villa - it was in a great spot, right next to the beach. It was basic but fine however, I travelled with my 2 children aged 15 and 13 and the accommodation arrangement was a king size bed and a fold out bed. The fold out bed was so uncomfortable it was impossible to get a good nights sleep.... both I and my son tried it but it was awful. I asked at reception if something could be done to improve this and was assured that housekeeping would deal with it. Nothing was done and eventually I had to take one of the cushions from the sunbed to lay on top of it. Housekeeping left it there and simply made the bed over it as if it was meant to be the mattress. Also despite having 3 people in the room (all classed as adults 12+), we had only 2 sun beds, 2 chairs and most importantly 2 life jackets (both of which were XL). I asked at reception for an extra life jacket (and to get smaller sizes) the day after we arrived - I was told they would be delivered to our villa - nothing arrived. Each day after that I asked again at reception as they recommend not going out onto the reef without life jackets due to the current. I did not want to take any chances with my children so we were unable to do this; on day 5, again they told me that they would be sent to my villa but I said I would sit in reception and wait as I had lost confidence. After about 30 minutes, they were delivered. Regarding the extra bed - I have since found out that in some villas the extra bed is actually a proper bed - which made me feel even more let down...... so if you go, make sure you contact the hotel in advance to confirm you will have a proper extra bed. The z-bed is just not good enough. These few things could've been easily resolved and were not. It seemed like asking reception for help was pointless which was a shame because it marred what was otherwise a fantastic holiday. Read less

Firstly please take your rubbish home with you, the Maldives cannot cope with your empty sun cream bottles and other waste. Don’t leave a carbon footprint, pack it, take it home and recycle it! Secondly do not touch the marine life, I saw people stood on coral! And worst still touching the house reef turtle! Finally if you have an issue tell someone so they can do something about it, don’t come on here or Facebook and complain when they don’t know or can’t do anything about it. Top tips Turtle can be found to the left off the north jetty usually around 20 meters away opposite villas 112-126 in shallow water and not of the shelf. There is a rechargeable LED torch in your room but they are not very powerful, fetch your own powerful one and go on the south jetty from around 22:30 and you will see lots of sharks and rays although the security guys are excellent and have a bright torch and happy to help you spot them. No need for shower gels, shampoo and conditioner. The room supplied ones are more than adequate even for women’s hair. Sea plane transfer is well worth it especially if it is your first time to the Maldives! No news no shoes as Maldives tradition goes, the sand is soft and most of the pathways while not covered in powdery sand we managed two weeks barefoot without issue. So on to the review from a Maldives repeater The island It takes around 20-25 minutes to walk round although you can’t actually walk all the way round. The hotel is far from modern however it is undergoing improvements but you aren’t paying modern hotel prices so….. Instead you get a beautiful lush island with pathways that are tunnel like with the undergrowth creating a canopy to walk under. There are some beautiful well maintained gardens around the back of the restaurants and water villas most people will never think of going through all of which are impeccably kept clean by hard working staff which sweep each morning. The hotel itself self hides within the vegetation rather than the vegetation cleared and a hotel placed in its place. Beaches Beautifully clean and tidy with powdery white sands. You will come across small patches of sand with coral in where it has been dredged to replace erosion but it’s only small areas. We never saw any mess on the beach, litter or beach towels like we had read about and if we had of it would be down to guests and not because the hotel didn’t care or didn’t clear the beach because they do! There is some erosion going on and some of the anti erosion measures aren’t very ascetically pleasing to the eye however and I’m no erosion expert, other islands we have been too use off-set walls in the lagoon to do this which in my opinion looks far nicer but again I’m sure there are reason for this. It’s certainly not an issue just an observation. Rooms Rooms are split into two so you get half a villa which was fine for us as we had one half and the kids had the other half so we didn’t disturb anyone but the walls seemed well insulated so I doubt you will be disturbed by anyone. We had a delux villa which by modern day standards isn’t very delux but it I was clean and functional as was the bathroom which is all we are bothered about. You get a couple of chairs inside and a couple of chairs on the veranda as well as a couple of sun beds and beach towels. Air con worked well and a ceeling fan and a complementary mosquito plug which was a nice touch, fridge had beer, milk, soft drinks and fruit juices + there are tea and coffee machine. The room also has life jackets, umbrellas and a half decent hair dryer. Now we had room set as far back from the sea as possible which some have said they’d rather have a garden room on a more modern island but this is not how we felt, it’s about 30 meters to the water’s edge and you could always find a sunny spot between the trees around the villas and therefore shade if you wanted that too. Pool We had read reports of beds all gone by 8 but this wasn’t the case. We were there in peek uk summer holidays. Beds were available till gone 9 and often came available during the day. The pool is just a nice size with 2 shallow ends and great view to the ocean. Beds are comfortable although the mattress cover could perhaps do with changing but towels are available and they were in the main nice and soft. A few tiles missing in the pool but perhaps they will address this in the near future with the improvement program currently underway. Bars Hummmmmm this was our only slight disappointment. Glasses could do with renewing in the pool bar and they seemed to run out so on occasions you may have to wait for the washer to run and I’m not convinced they used any cleaner as they often stopped it mid wash to pull glasses out. Also while there is a decent cocktail menu it is limited. The albino bar has a 101 cocktails and while we tried most of them they were of an acquired taste shall we say. Many weren’t representative of what the actual cocktail should have tasted but we eventually found ones we preferred and stuck too them. The beer and wine are fine. In the main bar snacks can be found on the train to the rear of the bar along with a late breakfast if you miss it but it’s a limited selection but still tasty. Restaurants The food is really good to be honest. Not a huge selection, probably 5 or 6 mains plus a couple of cooking stations, a pasta station and Indian selection along with a kids corner. The up side is everything is always tasty, warm and fresh again we’d head of tales of it getting busy which yes it can but we tended to eat breakfast at 8:30 which was just before the rush and 8:15 which was just after the rush. Despite being a bigger party we didn’t have issues getting a table. Cafe mass was nice although what we didn’t like was people taking tables playing cards or just drinking in peak times when people were waiting to eat, it’s a restaurant at the end of the day and if tables are needed people should be asked if they would mine vacating the table if it is needed and not allowed to sit for hours playing cards. There are other bars available for this but I appreciate not everyone might feel this way and I know it’s difficult for staff to ask this but there is little or no shade to wait for a table. Thava you can dine once for lunch and once on and evening (eat as much as you like) per week but you need to book and it does get booked up so do it as soon as you can. They also offered additional paid for options which were amazing if you like prawns and octopus etc Sufura is the Indian which is hidden away behind the main restaurant and amazing! It’s not like a uk Indian, it’s true traditional dishes and so much better than you get in the uk. What’s more it is open for breakfast and lunch serving main restaurant food along with Indian, its excellent way to get off of the hustle and bustle at peak times and one side has a traditional sand floor. It really should be advised more as many don’t realise you can get a normal breakfast etc and a none Indian lunch. Trips We were very lucky, sun set cruise was a perfect evening with clear skys and the skipper expertly guided the boat directly into the setting sun between two islands on the horizon On the dolphin trip we had a fruitless hours trip with the skipper constantly on the phone and then suddenly there we were around 50 spinner dolphins which stayed with us for around 20 minutes. We just got lucky, the day before didn’t see anything and the day after drew a blank too, you can’t make nature do what you want but the staff try had to find them. Reef The reef is ok, we’ve been to far better island reefs but you will see plenty of different fish, turtle to the left of the north jetty and there is an eel nest to the right by the jetty stilts but it’s not amazing however there is enough to keep you entertained. Personally we took our own gear but you can hire some for free from the sports centre which seemed good quality. If you have never been to the Maldives or the like you will be very please and amazed by it. Staff The staff are amazing, everyone we came across, be them a gardener or waiter they were all very polite and a credit to the hotel. It would be unfair to name people as there were so many and everyone we came across were happy and lovely to speak with and so incredibly hard working. Guests Just because some seem to have an issue with some countries, I’d say it’s 30% English, 30% German and yes 30% Russian, 10% other nations. We never had an issue or saw an issue with any Russians. They all seemed very respectful and queued patiently. Yes there are kids but if you don’t want to see kids go to an adult only hotel. Conclusion There is nothing that should put you off going here or would put us off retuning for that matter other than there are so many islands and we would like to explore some of them a bit more but who knows when it comes to booking we may well find our self’s returning. ok it’s not modern and sleek but in all honesty that’s the islands charm, embrace the tradition we did and loved it.
