A wonderful stay! We went for a week to celebrate our honeymoon. There really was amazing service, delicious food and beautiful views. We would highly recommend!! We stayed in a Jacuzzi overwater villa which was simply divine! Nothing like we had ever experienced before and we loved spending time on the decking. The spa is great, excellent treatments! Highly recommended. Top Tips: - Food here is quality over quantity. If you’re expecting meals similar to family all-inclusive resorts then you may be surprised.. this isn’t your typical burger and chips place. You will certainly be spoilt with delicious meats and fresh fruits. Everything is freshly made! So enjoy your meals, all 3 course, so note that the snack bars are limited. - A jacuzzi is definitely worth it! The privacy and the large decking really allows you to enjoy your room. We spend hours snorkelling, watching the sunrise/set and eating snacks whilst taking in the spectacular view. - Service here is something special. Take a moment to get to know the staff, they’ll appreciate it and so will you. It gave us an insight to the culture and we were very well look aftered all throughout our stay. They’re hot on feedback, so it’s amazing to see a resort with its finger on the pulse. - Yes, there is a rubbish tip in sight. This does not affect the quality of your stay by any means as it’s not in sight of any of the rooms. Plus the Maldivian tipping law is very strict! Should there be any rubbish in the sea, I can assure you it’s collected immediately. This is very well managed. - Could improve on wardrobe/storage. I ended up living out of my case which I found stressful as room wasn’t tidy. There is a open storage area in the bathroom but it didn’t suit the basic needs. - Please note that there is a 10% service charge and a 12% tax applied to all items outside of your all inclusive package. Journey to the resort (9/10) - our room tags are ready for us at the booths just outside the arrival area - some waiting time to gather all passengers from different flights to hop onto the speedboat - life jackets are enough for everyone - only 20min to the resort Customer Service - Lovely & helpful staffs always ready to talk to you - Quite curious why would some staffs automatically speak thai to us before asking us where we were from. - Wifi was good all around the island Accommodation/Rooms The only pro is the good view of the ocean from the balcony. Quite a no of cons 1) No clock in the room 2) Balcony was too cramped without any seating area and the jacuzzi and sunbeds were spaced too closely together. 3) The whole construction feels flimsy and we can feel the villa shook a little during strong tides. Maybe that's what the life jackets are for in the room. 4) No drawers concept is not for us as we can't keep ours stuffs in private feeling safe. 5) The transparent toilet door is definitely not convenient for us. Restaurants & Bars - The only pro is that all the restaurants serve amazing delicious food. Omali and glass noodles were our favourite and the buffet dishes change every meal. Some Cons 1) The Viu mall can be expanded with more seatings or lying area facing the sea. Some tourists are hogging on the same spot the whole day. 2) All the restaurants have the sandy floor concept but it gives us the impression that they are too lazy to clean or vacuum the place but just sweep everything to the sand. 3) Ocean restaurant is rather dim and gives us an impression it's quite run down. Saving the earth concept - This resort encourages saving the earth concept and uses their own water instead of plastic bottle but on the contrary, there are 1 bottle each of coke, sprite & fanta orange being replenished everyday. Why not cans instead of bottles? - It encourages us not to clean the room everyday and not to change our towels as well. TBH, it gives us the impression that they are trying to cut down as much as they can. Amenities & Activities 1) The baby sharks feeding is amazing. We can see the feeding so clearly compared to Paradise Island. 2) Snorkelers can even go up close and personal in the water to swim together with the sea creatures and witness the feeding of baby sharks. 3) The games room is amazing as well but there are limited games due to the limited space. Maybe can do up 1 more game room. 4) The chill room is great to chill but interestingly, it's always empty. Perhaps that can be the games room instead since it's much bigger. Resort 1) All the photos are nice due to the clear sky and amazing views from the ocean. 2) Very sandy everywhere. There are even traces of sand when we come back to Singapore. 3) A sewage smell on our 2nd day morning and it stays around an hour. 4) There are flies everywhere and it clearly pisses lots of tourists off. The best thing for us is the amazing view (as expected) and food. The rest is mediocre. Read less

Definitely recommend taking advantage of the free snorkeling equipment, we did this every day and the views under the water are something I'll remember forever. You don't need any more than the usual all inclusive package, there was plenty to chose from. The staff couldn't do enough for you and were all so friendly. I'd love to return here but fear it was a once in a lifetime for us. Read less

The place is a paradise. The staff keeps always an eye on everything was clean. They are always very kind. The food of its four restaurants is really good. The viu bar is perfect to see the sunset. Finally, we try a full body massage, the attention and the quality of the massage were really good.

You couldn't make this place up.. First thing to note this is not a luxury resort, or 4 star even as they claim. Think low budget holiday resort and it's acceptable. Reviews on here are all based upon relative experience, so please note we visit the Maldives once or twice a year for dome time now and know what is available, this place is nowhere near to standard. See pictures attached.  Also they don't tell you it's next to Thilafushi island, sounds nice? wrong, its an entire island of landfill, the mountain of rubbish emits clouds of steaming methane gas vapour from 27 years of rubbish, quite a thing to see until you realise what it is, the clouds of steam and methane gas from a rotting mountain of refuge is unreal, is a disaster. The resort over looks it.. Look on google maps to see how close it is or read about Thilafushi island... Anyway a shocking start.   Our experience. The hotel boat transfer from the airport, usually the hotel or resort boats are fully enclosed and feature much needed air conditioning, comfortable seating, drinks, sometimes even tv and music, makes it a fun experience. Not with this place, the boat is a fibreglass hull with a pop-stud gazebo attached, terrible plasic seats, no air conditioning. You are essentially sat outside in the humid damp heat with nothing but the noise of the engines and a flapping gazebo to listen to, horrible experience. You will also note the landfill mountain island just before you arrive. Upon arrival we immediately realised our mistake in booking, not only due to discovering what the rather bizarre looking steaming island was next door, but the place itself is extremely basic.  Next came the check in, you're put into groups like you're part of a collage induction day, briefed on the hotel and it's amenities, of which there are few and they're of a low standard. Next we were taken to our accommodation. We had booked a water villa, sounds nice you might think, not here, on approach are hearts sank further as we were driven down a jetty lined with what appeared to be garden sheds painted battleship grey, all situated closely together. It looks like a Soviet eara whaling port or an abandoned arctic mining operation.( See picture's) Upon arrival at our 'water villa' or in reality a shed on stilts, we're shown in to look around, it didn't disappoint. Worse on the inside than on the outside, cracked and bowing cheap laminated flooring, (again see picture's) a double bed and a broken TV. We noticed there was nowhere to unpack, we're then shown into the bathroom..  no chests or draws or wardrobes, just an open clothes rail next to the damp toilet and shower cubicle.. At this point even the member of staff could see how shock we were. We asked if this was a mistake, perhaps we had been shown the wrong villa. No, this was correct, we asked to move only to find that they only have one other villa type better than this, however they are all finished to the same standard as our current water villa, except they feature a Jacuzzi, that's it, so this is essentially their top end room. I can only imagine what their lower standard villas are like, sunset views of the landfill perhaps. Having said we are happy to pay whatever the upgrade cost is for a better room only to find the standard was exactly the same we were out of options. They did show us one another villa but it was as stated, exactly the same and in equality run down condition. So realising our mistake and we had clearly been miss sold the resort we went to reception to ask about a refund. This could not be sorted out so our only option was to book another resort, arrange boat transfer and get off this island as quickly as possible, it took 2 days to arrange and another 3k spent.  Back to our experience, next it was time for dinner, we were shown the buffet restaurant location and we walked over, you're greeted with tent doors folded over one another, picture an army field supply tent and thats about it. Thinking we had taken a wrong turn we turned to walk away when the tent door flap opened and we are welcomed in by a friendly member of staff, we walked in, the entire place has a sand floor, we're shown to our table and offered drinks, we spent all of ten minutes in this place, horrible food, even my dog would give it a miss, what a grim place. Also with no real AC, so we left. Fortunately we had paid for access to al le cart restaurants already so we dinned there for the rest of our thankfully short stay. After our limited lunch we visited the pool bar... what a sight.. all I can say is think a mix of Benidorm, the bar scene from star wars, and a low end Thai beach resort . People drinking budget cocktails out of cloudy plastic glasses. Also the music, they appeared to be playing children's nursery music, that was quite surreal. If I can upload the video on here I will, it was quite a site. After 10 minutes of looking at this spectacle we decided it was best to return to the shed room and get booking our escape.  We called room service only to find no drinks are allowed to the rooms. They said its for safety reasons to stop drunk people from falling in the sea apparently, however after a 10 minute conversation they did bring a cheap bottle Carva to the room which was good of them i guess, at least they tried. Beach Villas, Water Villas: A selection of sheds, no wardrobes,  draws or even a bath. Open clothes rail next to the toilet and shower in all these villas. Peeling cheap water damaged laminate flooring, water villas very noisy to sleep in due to flouting rings around their sea stilts, the rings bang into the support stilts all night.  As mentioned the villas look like a Soviet eara Whale port or abandoned artic energy exploration site.  Grim horrible budget places. Food: Main buffet restaurant looks like an army supply tent on entry, floor is just sand, food i wouldn't feed to my dog. Pool Bar: Totally surreal.. a mix of Benidorm, a budget Thai beach resort, and the bar scene from Star Wars, cheap fruit concentrate cocktails served in cloudy plast glasses... Bizarre music.. Grim place.. Al le cart restaurants: Actually surprisingly ok Romantic Dining Experience: Probably the best thing on the island, see picture. It's a wooden deck about 10m out from the tiny beach area, reached by a wooden platform and a peice of rope, over looks the incinerator which fires out thick black smoke periodically, and the rusting steel wall of the staff quarters. Funniest thing ever,  I really wish I had seen some poor people being taking their for dinner, it would have made a great picture. The Gym: Thats actually ok, compact but ok. The Staff: 90% were really friendly and helpful. Management: Appalling, how they manage to sell this place is amazing but perhaps that's their skill. I can only think they manage to attract people with no experience of the Maldives or with extremely low expectations. Management offered no help with leaving. Would I recommend this place? 100% NO. Unless it was extremely cheap and the individual usually holidays in hostels, or they have a keen interest in landfill management or decomposition gases. Snorkelling and Corel Reef: Worst of any place we have visited in the Maldives.  Upon Leaving Managment agreed to refund the upgrade we had paid for the premium all inclusive package we booked, but refused anything else even though we paid for six days stay and used 2 days, we would have left immediately but given its an island it was not possible. Other people were also complaining each time we visited reception, some received a 50% refund which seemed reasonable. In summary: If father ted did an episode in the Maldives this would be the place, bizarre, landfill and gas cloud views, low rent and run down. There are so many amazing places in the Maldives just avoid this place, we were taken in by it, don't make the same mistake.  Read less
