Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives

Maldives, Indian Ocean

The hotel

The Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives takes its name from the Maldivian word for crystal white sand, and it isn’t difficult to see why. Dhonveli is situated on a private island, surrounded by the sparkling turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. A secluded tropical paradise, the resort combines authentic Maldivian design and décor with modern comforts, facilities and amenities, to offer guests the ultimate Maldivian holiday experience. Why not treat yourself to a stay in an Over Water Suite — resting over the shallow waters surrounding the island, they offer privacy and seclusion. They have a spacious bedroom and a living area with glass panel to watch the marine life below, whilst outside a private sun deck has steps directly down into the water.

The best holiday destination, the island was perfect, all staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. Food was amazing and there was so much choice at every meal. The over-water villa was perfect and could not fault any part of our holiday. 10/10, hope to return!

The room was very cozy and feels like home. It is relaxing and ideal for a small family like mine. Can see a procession of hermit crabs just outside the room and it was amazing. There were hundreds of them. The pool was great and kids enjoyed a lot. Even though it had salt water, it was a heated pool and was soothing in the evening. Walk around the place was very good and lots of areas to explore. Food was an amazing part of our stay. It was like going back home after working for months in the Maldives. Special thanks to Chef Dhanushka for his talents and the cuisine which he made took us back home with a couple of authentic Sri Lankan dishes and amazing hospitality. He is an asset to the organization. Overall the restaurant staff and the management was very friendly and supportive. Sea and sand were good but we enjoyed the pool most. Overall, it was a spectacular and a memorable stay at Cinnamon Dhonveli and all the best to your loving staff! Read less

From the moment we arrived everything was sublime, we stayed in a beautiful over water suite which took our breath away, a massive thank you to Miss Lyn the Reception Manager for arranging our room for us. Renovations had started on the island, we were told there maybe minimal disruption, we didn’t hear anything what so ever. We paid $65 to swim with the turtles, it was the most amazing experience, I am not a strong swimmer but Hassan who lead the trip, really looked after me and made sure everyone on this trip had the best experience, I would highly recommend this trip as there was so many beautiful fish we saw along with many turtles. The food in the main restaurant was exceptional and was plentiful,we had a beautiful dinner on the beach one evening, our waiter Majeed was fantastic remembering our drinks and was very professional and courteous at all times and the lovely lady who prepared the delicious salads at lunchtime always has a beautiful smile. We went over to the surfers bar one night to see a soft rock band and we couldn’t have asked for better service when Mr Russell asked the band who had just finished for the evening to play for another hour for us, they were so talented and a great sound. We are hoping to go back to this beautiful Island again soon, after being disappointed with Hawaii, Bali and many islands in the Caribbean we have finally found our piece of paradise on earth. Thank you to all at Cinnamon Dhonveli for making our dreams come true. Read less
