Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives

The hotel

Meaning “Reef Above Water”, the newly refurbished Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa Maldives enjoys a unique location beside one of the longest stretches of reef in the archipelago. Featuring brand new beach bungalows, over-water bungalows set on stilts and platinum beach bungalows, you’re only a few steps into the waist-deep water and can enjoy fabulous views of the lagoon. The shallow lagoon is superb, however if its marine life, snorkelling and diving you are after, then hop aboard one of the twice daily complimentary shuttle boats, which will take you out into the deep crystal seas. If you just want to relax, meander to the Mandara Spa and select one of their treatments or a couples massage. As the day draws to a close, the beautiful sunsets and gentle evenings are the perfect setting for a delicious meal and drinks al-fresco. Another brand new addition for 2019, connected to the main resort via a walkway is a small private island with 20 luxurious platinum bungalows offering the ultimate privacy for adults 18 years and over. Ideal for couples or groups of friends with an outdoor common swimming pool, bar & lounge and an exclusive restaurant for guests staying on the island.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at this wonderful hotel . From the very moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The hotel has recently re-opened after a period of closure for refurbishment and is absolutely immaculate. We stayed in a water villa which was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The food in the main restaurant was extremely good , I would go as far as saying it was the best food for an all inclusive hotel I’ve ever experienced. The staff were friendly and polite, especially in the bar and restaurant areas. We had the same waiter for the duration of our stay who was so sweet and lovely and made us feel very special . The island itself is beautiful with crystal clear waters . The only negatives I have were that the resort shop wasn’t quite ready for visitors or stocked well, there were boxes left stacked up and everything was VERY expensive - so make sure you bring everything you need . Also the platinum island wasn’t opened yet as there was still work being carried out - that meant that we weren’t able to use the bar and facilities there which would have been a nice alternative to the main island. But overall the positives far out way the minor negative Points. I would definitely return to the Hakuraa Huraa again and would highly recommend this island to others. Read less

We have been back so many times and although we visit other places throughout the year, nothing compares with how we feel about about this really special place. John and Rita, Read less

Visited this place at the end of December and I can honestly say it was total paradise. The staff here are amazing and the welcoming committee when we arrived was so appreciated :-) We stayed in a overwater bungalow which was very spacious and comfortable. This trip was for a special birthday and we came back to the room one night to find the bed decorated for the occasion. Also, my partner received a cake and was sang to be the staff - a lovely touch. We thought all the staff were very friendly and helpful but I would like to mention two in particular. Firstly, Moosa, our waiter on table 318 was absolutely fantastic. It took him no time at all to get to know us and if he saw us entering the restaurant, our drinks would be waiting for us even before we reached the table. Secondly, Gayantha, in the bar - we were always met with a happy smile and never had to wait long for drinks, he really looked after us. If management read this review, please can you give these two members of staff some recognition and pass on our thanks for making our holiday all the more special. There was only one negative with this holiday which was the buffet dishes in the restaurant were often too cold for our liking, but the range of food was amazing. Overall it was an fantastic experience and we would certainly like to visit again in the future. Read less

Our second visit here was just as magical as the first. Food was delicious. Water bungalows are fantastic - love the private deck area steps into the sea. Not as many corals or fish as when we first visited. Looking forward to seeing the hotel after its refit - just hope it doesn’t become another island out of reach of average folks .
