We spent two weeks at Ellaidhoo in April and it really was the most perfect holiday. Before we left, I was worried it would feel like too long but to be honest, I still wasn't ready to come home. The island itself is beautiful and is reached by speedboat in 1.5 hours, which is how we chose to arrive. You can also take a seaplane which is 20 mins but the boat was quite smooth and had a higher baggage allowance. On arrival, we were greeted with fresh juices and cold flannels which were very much needed. Our room was a beach bungalow just to the right of the water villas. It was perfect. The view from the bed was the ocean and palm trees. The room was cleaned twice daily and the fridge minibar topped up each day. We travelled with virgin so had premium all inclusive which includes the mini bar being topped up, a steak or seafood meal, premium cocktails and fresh juices in the bars and a dolphin spotting trip. It wasnt much more expensive than normal ai and was definitely worth the extra. The food was plentiful and we found there was enough choice. There was sometime evening entertainment of singers in the bar. Although, the best evening entertainment in my opinion was watching the nurse sharks come in to feed. When the boats are loaded to take the leftover food away around 10.15pm, they all come in to the bay to feed which is awesome to see. They also have jackfish feeding each day at 5.30 which is so worth seeing. Dive centre. We had never dived before and spent every day snorkeling on the house reef which was packed with life. Getting to swim with the resident tortoise a few times was spectacular. We opted for the house dive for beginners. It was 2.5 hours and worth every penny. Our guide was Sunil and so patient with us both. We were able to go down to 10m and really explore the reef. We then booked again for the next day. The dive team run trips which are really popular, however even if you only want to snorkel then this is a great place. We went out on the manta ray snorkeling trip and swam with these amazing creatures. Dinner on the beach-- we paid extra for the candlelight dinner on the beach. It did cost $375 but was worth every penny. The beach is set up just for you and you have your own private chef and waiter. We had lobster, crab, prawns, fillet steak. The experience was amazing. The staff are fantastic, really friendly and always happy to help. The spa is also worth a mention. It is Balinese and reasonably priced. We had 6 treatments over the fortnight and they were all amazing. We went for my birthday and I was given cake and sung to in the restaurant on our last night. It really was paradise in the middle of the ocean and we will definitely return. Read less

I fell in love all over again. The dive center was set up in such an awesome way, you get set up with your equipment then you can dive whenever you want around the island and there is a lot to see. Took day trips to dive with Hammerheads and Manta Rays but the local island vibe was the best. Read less

We will highly recommend and definetly coming again in future if we get a chance Finally im very sad to leave this place Read less

In short, this location would suit those who are looking for either a snorkelling or diving holiday, and peice and quite. Staff were very attentive and very polite. All staff seem to work very hard all day long, regardless of what their job was. To note, be prepared to bring insect bite cream, even though the island is ’fogged’ in the evening, my partner and I were bitten a lot!. Feedback for cinnamon management - the island does not seem to flow in how the buildings are laid out. Customers that pay a little extra for a water villa have the luxury of the other Resturant, this does seem a little unfair. For those who have a beach bungalow (like us) sat in the other restaurant that could be located to where one of the bar areas was, this would give you much better view looking out across the Indian ocean. Also one of the bars was not really used, or this is how it seemed on my visit. The reef was amazing, please for all those who may be looking to visit, please respect the coral and sea life, its tempting to touch but this is a delicate ecosystem and should be respected at all times. It was a shame that plastic was evident in the ocean and I removed bottles etc several times over my 10-day stay. Read less
