The hotel

This lush resort is blessed with amazingly colourful coral reefs, a fine white sandy beach on one side of the island and a turquoise lagoon, making it perfect for those seeking unspoiled surrounds in which to relax. Where is it

In the northeast of North Ari Atoll. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 30 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person), or 1 hour 30 minutes by speedboat. Please note: seaplane transfers to/from your resort will only operate in daylight hours. Speedboat transfers are more economical, are available during daylight hours (except May-September) and are weather dependent. Please ensure your international flights into and out of Malé allow for these schedules.

Hotel information

112 rooms and bungalows. All with terrace, air-conditioning, satellite TV, complimentary, telephone, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, safe, hairdryer and iron. Standard Rooms are located on the island, open out onto the gardens and have outdoor showers, with 1 king-size bed, plus extra bed on request, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Standard All-Inclusive package: includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner plus selection of local snacks served between 10.30am-11.30am, 4.00pm-6.00pm and 10.30pm-11.30pm: unlimited regular house brands from a a selection of spirits and wines (served by the glass only), unlimited cocktails and mocktails from a select menu, selection of draught beer, selection of carbonated soft drinks, canned fruit juice, mineralised water plus teas and coffees at all outlets. Access to gym, badminton, tennis, squash courts, table tennis, billiard, snooker, beach volleyball and football (equipment included).

Virgin All-Inclusive: includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner in allocated buffet, plus morning, evening and late night snacks. Local and premium branded spirits, wines and cocktails, fresh juices and milk shakes, still bottled water, and tea and coffee. Plus one seafood grill or steak dinner at the the table (once per stay), a platter of chocolates in room on second day and mini-bar including soft drinks and beer (replenished once daily). One dolphin watching excursion per stay. Use of fitness centre, badminton, tennis courts, table tennis, snooker and squash.

Premium All-Inclusive package: includes all inclusions of the standard package plus a welcome bottle of sparkling wine on arrival, in-room mini-bar stocked with beer, soft drinks and selection of snacks (replenished daily), premium international brand spirits wines and cocktails, unlimited fresh juice and mild shakes, 2 complimentary excursions from selected list - per person per stay (weather permitting), invitation to 2 special themed party events organized by the resort, one special dinner on the beach with the option of a mixed seafood grill or steak, 1 x signature 60 minute Balinese spa treatment at Chavana Spa for stays under 14 nights, 2 x signature 60 minute Balinese spa treatment at Chavana Spa for stays between 14-20 nights. Turndown service every night.

Please note: outside the hours of 00:00 to 09.00am any food/drinks consumed (regardless of AIl-Inclusive package booked) will be charged on consumption.

Superior Rooms are in two-storey blocks (with two Superior Rooms on each floor) and face the ocean. These spacious rooms have 1 king-size bed and 1 single bed (extra bed available), sleeping maximum 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

Beach Bungalows are individual and look out to sea, offering more privacy, and have 1 king-size bed plus extra bed on request, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

Water Bungalows are set on stilts over the water, with private deck, and have 1 king-size bed plus extra bed on request, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Madi Restaurant (international buffet, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Malamathi Restaurant & Bar (exclusively for guests staying in Water Bungalows). Iruohsnee bar and coffee shop. EYZ Bar. Malamathi Poolside Bar.

We booked the Superior room and it was so spacious and comfortable, our houseman, Rameez was excellent and he made sure that he cleaned our room daily and provided us with the essentials. We were so happy with the service, Rameez is very hard working and he takes care of the guests. Then we were so pleased with Chandana and his team at the bar. They all did a great job and ensured we were well taken care of. The restaurant, Madi had excellent food every single day as we were all Inclusive and our waiters Susil, Hammu and Piyali were so nice to us, as I mentioned they all welcomed us and took good care of us. The ladies at the Chavana spa were amazing, what massages and facials they provide, so so good! Intent, Surat and Santi are great and you'll feel so relaxed after the service they provide. Would I go back again? Yes, Of course! It was so comfortable and enjoyable. Wonderful people and great vibes. I recommend people to book with them for Christmas holidays as well. Read less

We had a fantastic honeymoon here. We were in water bungalow 403 which is an absolutely fantastic room. Alamin did a great job keeping the property clean twice a day! The restaurant for water bungalow residents is exceptional - Igbal was excellent throughout the stay and made every meal very special!

From the moment we arrived at Ellaidhoo you could sense the care that the staff and management have both for the guests and the island. This is our third Maldive island to visit and overall I would say our favourite. The positives. The food is superb and the menu varied to cater for every taste. There are multiple chefs preparing live meals at every buffet so you can have a tailored meal that is piping hot. The bar colleagues are very helpful and remember you and will interact in light conversation. The choice of all inclusive drinks is very good. The house reef is amazing. Never seen more corals or varieties and numbers of fish sharks and rays. The lagoon is basically sand and some parts of the sea outside the lagoon are not immaculate coral but go 10 metres beyond the lagoon wall and they are perfect with a steep drop off ideal for scuba diving. We dived three times and found the dive school to be extremely well equipped and professional. You can dive with your partner but we chose to use an instructor for extra confidence and extra ability to spot sea life. The manta snorkelling trip was amazing though a little pricey. The rooms and outside toilet were good and I wouldn’t change anything. My wife enjoyed the spa having both facials and a massage. There is a very strong eco culture in the island which will be accelerated over the next few years Ok a few areas of improvement. The lagoon walls at sea and on the island side are ugly especially at low tide. They need facing up with stone or broken coral to make them slightly more natural looking. Some of the trips are undersubscribed which means they never meet the minimum person threshold. I suggest a 25% price reduction and your numbers would increase favourably. Some simple cocktails like a Pina Colada are not on all inclusive. Why? All in all we loved it and will definitely return. Read less

Has been an enjoyable and memorable experience here in Ellaidhoo! An amazing coral reef with a lot of biodiversity. All the teams are very friendly and professional, also our room boy Alamin that prepared a beautiful surprise with a lot of flowers for our anniversary!
