Had such an amazing few days here, it’s a very beautiful island, slightly more of a rustic feel to other islands in the Maldives I’ve visited. There is a concrete wall surrounding the island which does spoil the view slightly but the snorkelling is absolutely stunning and easily accessible straight off the beach. BUT, we did have a few issues, we were made to wait 6 hours in a room at the airport as they would not transfer us to the island. This was really upsetting as we only had 3 days there in total and this wasted one of our days (not good when it’s cost £1500 for 3days!). We were told there were only 2 transfers a day but when we kept seeing new guests arriving every few hours the next day we were realised this was not true. We also had to leave early on our last day due to their transfer times. Also, there are 2 separate restaurants, one beautiful pool side restaurant for the people staying in the sea bungalows and another ‘staff canteen’ type of restaurant, seating 200 people for the rest of us. Really did make us feel like second class citizens. The food was really very good and the staff were lovely, specially the man who looked after the pool area. The managers were unhelpful and did not attempt to resolve our issues. We would not return to this island. Read less

We had two glorious weeks celebrating my 60th birthday in Ellaidhoo Maldives. We stayed all inclusive in an over water bungalow, which was well worth the extra money in our opinion The weather was glorious but on the walkways and decks there was always a lovely breeze, whereas the beach was a bit too hot for us. The aircon ensured the inside was always cool and we loved going to sleep at night istening to the sound of the ocean all around us. Towels and bedding were changed regularly and there was a lovely selection of toiletries provided. First and foremost we were there for the snorkelling and this was incredible. We got great footage of the incredible variety of beautiful fish and coral in crystal clear water. Baby sharks, triggerfish, parrotfish and rays in the lagoon (not manta rays as I have seen mentioned - far too shallow for that!). Bigger nurse sharks to see in the harbour at night. We went through the sea wall onto the reef and drop-off from various places but the best was from the beach, where there is a handrail and rope to help you as the current can be strong. When we weren't snorkelling we just loved lying on our sunbeds on the deck soaking up the sun and watching all the fish below us. We also saw a pod of dolphins one day. We did the sunset boat trip around the island, which was lovely, but the highlight was my Romantic Meal on the beach for my birthday, which was absolutely beautiful, with a private chef and waiter. Couldn't fault any of the food, especially the imaginative salads and curries. We found three meals a day too much but all were great. Loved sitting up in the raised section overlooking the infinity pool after dinner, where Madawa made sure our glasses were kept filled. A new cocktail menu came in while we were there and the pina coladas and rum punches were to die for! Our bungalow was kept pristine by Salime, who did a beautiful floral arrangement on our bed for my birthday. Chef Narendra deserves a special mention for his wonderful fresh cooking. Also waitress Masha and especially waiter Faaiq, who managed to make every person feel that he was 'their' waiter, and who organised my birthday meal. We had many laughs with him and his encyclopedic knowledge of Premier League football! Our transfers were fine - we arrived by speedboat and paid extra for the seaplane when we left, just for the experience which was great. All in all it was a fantastic holiday and we would love to visit again - it has probably spoiled us for going anywhere else! Read less

Room was decent and the service staff were nice, but the management staff were very rude. We had to wait for over 4 hours for our speedboat at the airport, and again 6 more hours for our return flight. Our repeated requests to arrange an alternate transport which would be more convenient were simply turned down saying it was a shared transfer and there was nothing they could do. We didn't feel they even made an effort, we were bluntly told to deal with it. I recommend checking with them when the speed boat or sea plane timings before booking your flights. Even then I would not take their word for it. Read less
