Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa Hotel

We just returned from the most AMAZING honeymoon at Emerald Faarufushi! I researched resorts for months and I am so glad I chose Emerald. The service at this resort is truly 5-star! From the moment we left baggage claim at the Male airport, we were greeted and catered to every moment of our trip. I can honestly say, every single employee we interacted with provided the best service I’ve experienced in my life. When we arrived at the resort, we were introduced to our villa host, Nabeel, who graciously catered to our every need and desire throughout the trip. He set us up with WhatsApp messaging so we could contact him night or day for anything we needed. Even on his day off, although we tried not to bother him, he was sending us updates to our itinerary and responding to our needs instantly. He had our dining reservations planned out before we even arrived and each one worked out perfectly for our stay. He made sure we had a reservation at every restaurant at least once, and even gave us multiple options if we wanted to move something around. On our last day, we requested a late check-out and Nabeel coordinated getting us a beach villa to use for the day since our room needed to be vacated for the next guests. Nabeel was so amazing we felt like he would do anything within his power to ensure we had the best vacation/honeymoon ever. He is truly an outstanding employee we will remember forever. We also had outstanding service from the pool bar staff, Manish, Arun, and really enjoyed our craft cocktail class with Vishal at the Eclipse bar. These gentlemen made every cocktail with quality and pride! The food and drink were top-notch, beyond anything I would expect from an all-inclusive. The quality was incredible and there aren’t up charges everywhere like I saw at other resorts. This is one of the reasons I chose Emerald Faarufushi. They have very high quality ingredients and liquors, which many other resorts don’t provide in their all-inclusive package. They really take pride in the quality of their food and beverages and the head chef was always making his rounds to interact with the guests. The rooms are incredible at this resort. We stayed 6 nights in a sunset over water villa and it was the most impressive room I’ve ever stayed in. The room itself was huge, comfortable, modern, and extremely clean. The waterfront deck is massive and the pool layout is great for just relaxing and cooling off, or lounging in the shallow part under the umbrella. We loved how we could walk right from our deck, into the water and snorkel around to see all the beautiful coral and marine life. We also got to check out the beach villa on our last day and that room is equally impressive. The snorkeling was amazing all over the resort. There is tons of marine life right off the over water villas. What’s even nicer, is you can walk down the boardwalk right to the edge of the main house reef and hop right in for incredible snorkeling. No need to swim all the way out to the house reef like at other resorts. This setup was brilliantly planned when they built the resort. The dive shop and diving employees were also top-notch. I went on two scuba dives while I was there and the entire dive team was extremely friendly, professional, and safe. We say rays, sharks, lobster, and about a million fish. I had such a blast diving with the Faarufushi dive team. Finally, I have to comment on how nice it was to have bikes included in our stay. I know some resorts either don’t have bikes, or charge for bikes, but at Emerald Faarufushi, bikes are included with every room. The resort is small enough that you definitely don’t need to use them, but we used them a lot to expedite our travels since our villa was pretty far down the boardwalk. I didn’t catch his name, but they literally have one employee who seemed solely dedicated to the upkeep of every bike. I had a kickstand that was loose and I casually mentioned it to him before I went into my room to change. When I walked out, literally 10 minutes later, I had a brand new kickstand on the bike. This employee is a perfect representation of the outstanding service at Emerald Faarufushi. I could go on forever about how amazing our honeymoon was. The honeymoon perks they offer are also beyond amazing. The couples massage and romantic honeymoon dinner were definite highlights of our trip that we will never forget. You cannot go wrong choosing to stay at this resort and we are so happy the resort and staff were beyond our expectation! We had a very pleasant stay at your resort for our honeymoon. Starting with the process of arrival, where the hotel staff handled the booking for the flights with the sea planes. As soon as we arrived at Male airport, we were welcomed by a staff member of the Emerald-Team. They took our luggage for checking it in to the transfer to the island, while we were transported to the terminal for the sea planes. After a 5 minute ride, we arrived at the sea plane terminal and staff members brought us to the coral lounge (good air conditioning), where we could rest on massage chairs, have cold drinks or some nice local and international snacks. After around 1hr we moved to the sea plane for our 50 minute flight with one stopover at another resort. I'd recommend bringing ear plugs, we didn’t get them handed in our flight to the resort, but at the return back to the airport. So it’s kinda a lottery and I'd recommend to just bring them with you. My mobile phone and watch warned me after 20 minutes that there is constant noise over 90decibel, just for everyone’s information. Arriving at the resort, we were instantly recognized and greeted by our host Kunal. He took the time to take a photo of us on the jetty when entering the resort, that gave us a nice and welcoming feeling instantly. For clarification: the host will be there for you all day and evening long (we didn’t bother to message him during night time, but I'd bet even then Kunal would instantly reply and ask what good he can do for us). The host will book your lunch, dinner, tours or other stuff like Spa or water sports. He will handle problems or special tasks and find solutions as fast as possible. Kunal did all that and he was a major reason our stay was as perfect as it was. Thanks again for everything Kunal and I hope to see you again. Back to the beginning. Our host brought us to the reception area, where cold served Prosecco awaited us, and not the cheapest one. After a short welcoming by some of the stuff and also Hotel Manager Patrick, Kunal took us around the island on a golf cart to show us all the relevant venues for our stay at the resort. We finally got to see our beach villa with a pool (205) and were greeted by a wonderful message made of flowers on our bed. A little honeymoon piece of art so to say. A bucked with ice and Champagne, fresh fruits and a nice little cake as a present were also prepared. After checking the villa, we saw that the resort even prepared a nice bath in the bathtub for us, not too warm, not too cold, perfect temperature. We took our Champagne and enjoyed some glasses in the tub. Sounds great right? And it was. I could say that we were impressed with how it all started and said to ourselves "nah, they can’t keep that standard up for 10 nights", but to spoiler that: they did. Every day was just as perfect. Everything well planned and prepared. Room service for 205 was really good too, very discreet, friendly and overall just perfect. Bar and snacks were refilled twice a day if necessary. Towels, especially for the beach or outside, were changed twice a day as well. We tried to not have our normal towels changed all the time, recommended by the resort for environmental reasons as well, and you don’t need that to be honest. What else to say about villa 205? Very good spot, wave breaker in front but not directly at the beach like at some other villas. Beach and sand were top notch, even if it is not the softest sand in the world, but it was clean and not rocky. Small sharks were saying hello every morning and evening, sometimes you could even see them hunting small fishes. I recommend that villa for people who want a little bit more shade during the most intense sun of the day. After 5 nights we switched to an over water villa with pool facing the sunset. To no one’s surprise, the villa was awesome as well. Perfectly located (315), even when the tide is low. We saw small sharks, stingrays and puffer fishes around the villa, how about that. On the first evening we had another fine art piece on our bed, with best wishes for the birthday, there was a mixup I guess, it was still our honeymoon. ;) I had some fun switching it up by myself to puzzle “honeymoon” and took some photos. Small mistakes can happen, we smiled and were happy about the villa. Room service was good, but a little step below villa 205, but you probably can’t beat what he did there, so standards were abnormally high. Service was the same as the first 5 nights, so I won’t repeat myself with all the good things again. Coming to the restaurants: no matter where you went, the staff was extremely friendly and eager to help where ever you needed help. They were knowledgeable when you had questions about food and if the weren’t 100% sure, the went to the kitchen and asked. Special mentions going out to Aalim from the beach grill and carnivorous (good luck with the football tournament), a super friendly service and we joked around quite often, Yasir from the Aqua and Pradeepa from the Teppanyaki. Pradeepa if you somehow read this, please never stop smiling. When we were at your place for lunch and dinner or just seeing you on the way, it instantly gave us a big smile seeing you smiling and being so nice and friendly. The Teppanyaki is not as good without you, I'd bet money on it. Speaking about the Teppanyaki: Chef Sudarshana is a wonderful soul, a good showman and a very good chef. He prepared some extra menu for my wife, since she is vegetarian and she loved it. Thanks also again to Kunal for organizing that in the first place. We met Sudarshana also at the Aqua, were we always had a nice little chat about our days and the food there. Thanks for everything! Shoutout also to the guy at the eclipse bar, who is also serving at the pool bar. Forgot his name, but he is a top bloke as well. Chef Krishna for the superb Indian food and a special thanks to Mr Moreno, the chief chef for the awesome food and the perfect selection of his team. Loved his Italian nights and the Gnocchi. A special mention also goes out to our private snorkeling tour captain and the guide. Salim and Tafser. We had the best snorkeling trip ever with manta rays as close as half a meter away from us and turtles in a beautiful reef. The captain found everything we asked for and tafser not only gave us valuable information, he was also the best cameraman we could’ve asked for. For information: you can rent new GoPros at the dive center, they’ll transfer everything on your device directly after the trip. Ms Kiki and Mita from the Spa, thanks and we enjoyed the treatments very much. Very friendly and they really know which buttons they have to press. All in all, that was possibly the best honeymoon we could’ve hoped for. From the nice private dinner at the aqua to every staff member who made that stay perfect. Hope to see you soon again. Thank you Emerald Faarufushi for a wonderful stay at your magical resort. This trip truly exceeded mine and my husband’s expectations for our honeymoon. Sometimes you book to stay somewhere and the place is not as good as the pictures, but this was not the case here. From arriving at Male Airport, everything was taken care of. We had a host greet us at arrivals so there was no delay or worry about finding the seaplanes. We were then taken to the lounge where we could eat some snacks whilst we waited to board the plane for transfer. The arrival into Emerald was stunning, we were beyond tired but the beauty of the resort and our warm welcome really perked us both up - even the reception was so beautiful and I felt like I really had landed in paradise! Our personal guide Kunal was a fantastic help, he briefly showed us around the resort and then to our room. To our surprise everything was already planned and scheduled for us, like lunches and dinners. If we needed any help, all we needed to do was messaged Kunal and it would be sorted straight away! I thought it would be a buffet dinner for breakfast, lunch and dinner but I was so surprised that there was a new restaurant for us to eat at for nearly all lunches and evening meals! This was such a surprise to us which we didn’t expect, they covered such a large variety of meal themes and it always felt new. The buffet breakfast was outstanding, they had pretty much everything you could possibly want, and everything was deliciously made. The staff around the resort were incredible people, I really wish I could remember everyone’s names but I would be here all day writing about each individual and how lovely they were. They all seemed to somehow remember lots of my preferences of drinks, most of the time I didn’t even need to say what I wanted, like they could read my mind! Thank you Priyanka and Izad for amazing service. I am also 7 months pregnant and really appreciated how comfortable they made me feel throughout my stay. Nothing was too much to ask for here. We also loved going to the beach bar in the evenings, the guys who worked in this bar were so great, I really loved coming here and seeing them, they were so pleasant to talk to, again, I wish I could remember all their names! Our room was absolutely beautiful, we stayed in a beach villa with a pool which also exceeded our expectation. The bathroom was so stunning and the villa was extremely spacious and comfortable. The mini bar was stocked daily for our needs which was a lovely touch. Our room attendant was such a hard working and kind individual - thank you Ketut for your hard work. He worked with times that suited us for our room service, he was fast and efficient but the room was always so immaculate after he had been around, he was such a lovely person and we wish him all the best! We also found there was a great range of activities and excursions you can do here. Being so pregnant I couldn’t do much really, but next time I will be doing all of it! How many times can I use the word stunning? Because there’s no other word to describe the beauty of this island. The palm trees, the clear beautiful sea, the interior design of all the restaurants, the sandy pathways through the tropical foliage, just WOW! It was like being inside an Instagram photo which has been perfectly edited. I can also see this would be a great place to bring children as we took note of the amazing play area and the indoor activities for kids. I wish all the staff here all the best for the future, they were such phenomenal people. Whoever is in charge of hiring has done an amazing job of it! I have just come back from the most amazing holiday and what made this place so special for me personally was the staff who looked after me as I was travelling alone. I would love to say a massive “Thank you” to Sam my villa host who was always there if I needed anything day or night but never intrusive and she even arranged a late check out of my villa on my last day. First time in the Maldives and it certainly won’t be my last. The food and drinks selection here have been amazing. Read less

We had a fantastic and unforgettable holiday at Emerald Faarufushi. Exceptional services started from the moment we arrived at the Valana Airport, the staff greeted us and made the transfer so smooth and hassle free. At the time the seaplane touched down, we immediately impressed by the absolute beautiful view of blue sky, crystal clear water, white sand...... We stayed in the water villa which was huge and clean with amazing view. High ceiling, comfortable bed, strong WiFi through the island. Staff greeted with a smile anytime everywhere in the resort. Our butler, Ms Ting who arranged part of the itinerary prior to our arrival, and then assisted all the bookings according to our wishes. Although she was so busy looking after different clients, she cared about our experience. She met us at the restaurants every evening to make sure we enjoyed and gave help when we needed.
