The hotel

The Hard Rock name has hit the Maldives, bringing its inimitable chill out scene to the ultimate laidback location. A new concept in the Maldives, it’s more than just barefoot luxury and days of sunbathing, swimming, and snorkelling (although there’s plenty of that too). A footbridge links you to the Marina @ CROSSROADS, where a Hard Rock Café, Beach Club, and a dining village await. And, being a Hard Rock hotel, you’ll also find VIP-worthy treats in store, like Rock Spa® treatments, super-chic eateries (The All-Inclusive option here takes your taste buds beyond the resort too, meaning you can dine around at SAii Lagoon and The Marina @ CROSSROADS), and exclusive ‘Sound of Your Stay’ music moments, including complimentary use of Fender guitars and Crosley turntables — all just 15 minutes speedboat ride from the airport.

We had a wonderful 10 night stay at Hard Rock hotel, it was our first visit to Maldives and we had such a lovely holiday. We travelled with our 10 year old and 1.5 year old, the hotel is well set up for children, with many activities for them as well as adults. The hotel is lovely, spacious and always had availability around the pool, and at the restaurants to accommodate us. There’s many areas of beach to explore and snorkel, it’s impeccably clean and the water is crystal clear - I would encourage anyone staying here to clear up after themselves and keep things out of the oceans and beaches - we cleared quite a few bottles and unwanted items from the ocean whilst we were there. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff that we encountered, they are all working incredibly hard to provide a great environment for the guests and it really pays off. The quality of the food that we had at the hotel was very good and there was always something we could all eat ( 2 of us vegetarians and a baby that is very picky!) We stayed in the overwater villas and had assistance during our stay from Kishore, Kishore was always on hand whenever we needed anything - he made all our restaurant bookings for us, was organised and helpful during the entire stay, always available whenever we needed anything and provided advice on trips from the dive centre too. A big thank you to Kishore and the rest of the team, they really do make the stay even better and having them on hand to help and organise additional requirements is a huge help. The work that goes on behind the scenes is huge and it really does make the stay what it is - an incredible experience! Maldives is a beautiful country, and from start to finish the hard rock hotel really welcomed everyone. I would also recommend utilising the Dive Centre at the marina - the staff are so knowledgeable, friendly, reassuring and kind - they repeatedly went out of their way to engage with our children and without this we would have missed out on a great experience - swimming with sharks!! A special mention to Prideesh (spelling not correct!) and Chiffon Thank you all! We will definitely visit again. Read less

Towels were not available at the pool, drinks were out of stock, wait times for drinks was 30 minutes, no pool side service. Dont get me wrong, the staff were incredible, there just were not enough of them. I felt so bad for them as they were working their socks off but just couldn’t keep up with the demand. Same with dinner, suddenly we were waiting 20 minutes for a drink order and service just was not as good as our earlier days. I would totally recommend this resort. It’s fantastic and the staff are brilliant. Food was exceptional too. Just wish there were more staff around the pool and pool bar. Read less

Our first visit to the Maldives and we were not disappointed. We booked the Hard Rock as we have stayed at a few others around the world and they have a fabulous vibe particularly for our 17 yr old daughter. The set up right from the pick up by private boat at the airport was fantastic. What a way to arrive at your hotel. Alfa was there to merry is. He was our butler for the 10 day stay as were lucky enough to book one of the two bedroom rockstar villas with its own plunge pool and steps leading down the fabulous warm waters of the Indian Ocean. The place is fabulous. People very friendly and as you would expect the weather incredible. I would like to make a special mention to Alfa our butler. We were able to book all our evening dinner bookings with him. Any excursion we wanted. He would happily pick us up and take us over to the marina at Crossroads on one of the many buggy’s used around the islands. Nothing was too much for him and he really elevated our holiday beyond our expectations and made it all very simple for us to enjoy our time here. We will definitely be back in the near future and would thoroughly recommend. Read less

Fantastic family holiday with my wife and two children in the most amazing location. I will try and summarise my review to help others and provide feedback for the resort Location Perfect for families. Short speed boat transfer from the airport. Great if you like to explore and do different things and not just sit on a beach for your entire holiday. That being said to be honest if it was just me and my wife we would have gone to a different island. Resort The resort is picture perfect. Hard rock has it's own island with two restaurants and great pool and pool bar and numerous beaches. There us a long decked beach which connects you to the marina crossroads which has lots of great restaurants and gives you access to the beach club at said lagoon by Hilton. Hard rock is much better in our opinion but saii lagoon is still amazing. Accommodation We stayed in a private pool beach villa which was perfect as our children were 3 and 4. The villa was perfect and clean and I can't fault anything. Best accommodation we have ever stopped at. Beach villas with pools are close to the main restaurants and main pool which is convenient with young children. Oh and at the end of our private pool was what felt like our own private beach with the most stunning sea Resort staff Very friendly staff who made our stay even more enjoyable. Room turn over was immaculate. Special mention to Prabbath who was a top guy. The pool bar staff were great and friendly. Special shout to saugat and hassa. Gavi and Kishore were also great guys. Staff at Hard rock cafe were great Food We had some great food but also some average food throughout our 10day stay. Great food. The private beach meal bbq was great. The picanha at elephant and butterfly was great. Abracadabra entertainment and Deviate band were very good Negatives Understaffed. Wait times can be long and if you like a drink or two after your meal you may wait a long time. We are not big drinkers but once you have placed your food order and received a drink its difficult to get another one. Premium all inclusive. Poor communication when using these benefits and if you book something in and want to change it. Double check the day after if it has been changed. We learnt this the hard way with all the additional items you get with premium all inclusive. Make sure you use the vouchers when using premium benefits. We didn't know we even had vouches until a week into our stay. We thought you just use them as part of the package and they know what you get because of your room number. I'm not sure if premium all inclusive is worth it to be honest. Main reason is because it felt too hard to arrange the extra benefits Summary Amazing place, amazing resort, holiday of a lifetime but needs a little improvement to some finer details. Read less
