JA Manafaru is a beautiful island. In order of importance, in the Maldives what interests us most is 1- House Reef, 2- villas, beautiful, spacious, with deck and pool 3- good diverse food and quality drinks 4- good service - and I must say that JAM was perhaps the island (of the 7 we were on) that in our opinion got the best overall score and balance. The island is really beautiful, with ancient vegetation that provides desirable shade, it's all very well looked after, with soft white sand and it's perfectly possible to walk round the whole island. We went in the first fortnight of April and found the clearest, most transparent and calmest water of the seven islands we visited. The GoPro filters didn't come out of the box, the Maldivian blues were a constant. When we arrived, the first thing I found strange was the fact that there were no paths made from the beach to the drop-off, but then I realised they weren't necessary, the reef allows you to enter or exit from anywhere, and there are also access stairs on each pontoon and also on the smaller jetty of villas. Everything seems harmonious, balanced and effortless. Starting with the service, we had Nishan who looked after us and did everything to help us whenever we needed it. We were very grateful, especially when we had a mishap and needed medical assistance, which was a precious help for us to be able to enjoy our holiday, everything was promptly made available to us, including treatment. The room service provided by Shiham was absolutely perfect, several times a day, without us needing to ask for anything, nothing was missing, not even the extra towels. In the restaurants, we always found constant friendliness and, even though the resort was very busy and there were some delays, everything went very smoothly. We felt well looked after everywhere. Of the 4 restaurants, our favourite was the White Orchid, with dishes that were absolutely divine and different from what we usually find in Asian cuisine, the Maldivian evening at Kakuni is unmissable, a great idea very well presented and delicious, the Italian cuisine at Andiamo was very tasty and in thematic contrast, and the meat and seafood buffet at the Ocean grill, all of excellent quality and abundance delighted us with enough variety for 12 days. Breakfasts were perfect with everything we liked, just as we asked, with exemplary freshness. We had the pleasure of visiting the Cellar, a very special and different restaurant in the Maldives. I confess that it wasn't the menu that fascinated me, but rather the beauty of the room, the possibility of tasting an unusual wine and the more personalised service due to the small capacity of the room that enchanted us. We stayed in villa 530, on the longest jetty, and we couldn't have had it better. I'd ask for it again and I'm very grateful that the resort was kind enough to fulfil our request for the room. The water villas are beautiful, with spacious and well-distributed spaces, with every detail thought out so that functionality and comfort are a constant. The private pool, although small, is something we have learnt to value highly and this one, covered in dark stone and facing the sunset, always had warm water. The pools have a cleaning motor that is switched on automatically by programming (which can be changed on request), the noise of which bothered us a little at first but which we quickly got used to and recognised the importance of switching on. And what beautiful sunsets we had on our deck... When we decided to choose this island, I have to say that we weren't worried about any of the above, but we were concerned about what is always the most important thing for us, which is the House Reef and about which we rarely found any information. Well, this island does have a House Reef and it's now one of our favourites. As is natural on an island of this size - for me the perfect size, as it's neither too small nor too big - not all the areas have the same density of marine life, although there is a good coral area with fish and another that I find luxuriant in terms of schools of fish, one on the sunrise side and one on the sunset side. There's also another area that seems less rich but where we ended up finding so much that we didn't expect and which really delighted and amused us. In fact, we came to the conclusion that it was the island where we found the greatest diversity of animals. Apart from all the truly HUGE schools of all the beautiful and colourful fish of Maldives, we saw beautiful and large stingrays and spotted eagle rays, lionfish, several large and beautiful porcupine fish, turtles, nemos, lobsters, octopuses, many nurse sharks sleeping during the day and awake at night by the sunset jetty, a few but some black tip sharks, and many of my beloved cuttlefish on several different sides. Huge Trigger fish, Trevallies, Sweet lip. What more could you wish for? Oh yes, even dolphins passed in front of our villa several times, unfortunately too far away for us to swim to them... All this in clear, limpid, calm waters, with so many new shoals of little fish protected on the rocks and corals growing, the resort's care in planting coral nurseries, the feeling I got was of an island that suffered like all the others from el nino, but which is now flourishing with life and beauty. Honestly, one of the best holidays of my life, thank you JA Manafaru. Read less

The island has a very relaxing atmosphere and there are alot of activities for adults and kids. Our hostess Aan is very kind and was always there to help us with everything we needed from the minute we came until we left, she booked everything for us and took us around the island whenever we needed. We recommend to try book everything as soon as you arrive, some things get fully booked fast. The food is VERY good, halal and soooo many options are available, we recommend to get the all inclusive option since it includes breakfast, lunch and dinner with 3 courses and drinks or else you'd pay ALOT more. Jason, Nishan, Mark, Chef Musa and the rest of the crew went out of their way with so much kindness and generosity to make our stay, and my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary, such a fabulous experience. Chef Musa, you and your team in the kitchen cooked up the most amazing food!!! That fish curry! 🤤 I’ve never eaten so well in my life! Mark, your smoothie making for the kids & fabulous wine choices were second to none. Thank you for organising everything that you did. You made our stay truly special! ❤️ And dear Nishan! You have the patience of a Saint, especially when my brother took longer to get ready than I! 🤣 We can’t thank you enough for everything that you did! Jason & Victoria, you have such a beautiful island and such a magnificent team!! We can’t wait to return!!! JA Manafaru really is heaven on earth! Read less

The room had a large sea view. Linda was very nice at showing us around the whole place and seeing the turtles, which became a wonderful memory. I hope I have the opportunity to come back in the future. 🥰 We touched the ground and felt the sand. We enjoyed our time here.
