The hotel

Where is it

Located on the island of Thilamaaushi, in Lhaviyani Atoll, one of the Maldives’ smaller and underdeveloped atolls. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 35 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person).

141 well-appointed guest villas and suites, featuring unparalleled views across the whitewashed beaches, the Indian Ocean or turquoise lagoon. All with air-conditioning, tea/coffee-making facilities, iron and ironing board, mini fridge, safe, bathrobe, separate shower and tub, hair dryer, bathroom amenities, smart TV, and complimentary WiFi access. Beach Villas are 82 sqm featuring direct beach access, indoor and outdoor bathroom, and 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child.

Half Board option: includes daily buffet breakfast at Turquoise, and dinner at either Turquoise or $100 dinner credit per person per night at Velaa Bar & Grill.

Full Board option: includes daily buffet breakfast at Turquoise, and lunch and dinner at either Turquoise or Velaa Bar & Grill (set menu applies).

All-Inclusive option: includes daily breakfast at Turquoise, choice of lunch at Turquoise, Waves Cafe, Latitude, Riviera or Velaa Bar & Grill, choice of dinner at Turquoise, Velaa Bar & Grill (set menu), or Tabemasu (set menu), unlimited beverage consumption from a selected list in all restaurants and bars which includes non-alcoholic drinks, premium hot and iced teas, selected cocktails, selected spirits and wines (served by the glass only), and replenished mini bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.

Sunrise Overwater Villas feature private outdoor deck with hammock and direct lagoon access, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 people.

Sunset Overwater Villas feature private outdoor deck with hammock and direct lagoon access, and 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 people.

Beach Garden Pool Villas feature an open-air bathroom, private pool, and direct beach access from the patio, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Beach Pool Villas are the same as above, with a pool located at the front of the villa. 

Overwater Villas with pools have either sunrise or sunset views, private pool, and direct lagoon access. The bedroom has either 1 king-size bed or twin beds, sleeping maximum 3 adults.

Two Bedroom Beach Pool Villas feature direct beach access with a private pool, two bedrooms each with 1 king-size bed, and an open-air bathroom, sleeping maximum 6 people.

Wow!! From the moment we arrived in Male, the staff/service was on-it. They greeted us by name straight off the plane. Then they quickly escorted us through the airport assisting us with our travel arrangements from the airport to our island. They provided a lounge with food and drinks for us while we waited on the sea plane departure. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our fantastic host, Migu who was spectacular from the very beginning!! He was very kind and assisted us in every way possible. Such as restaurant reservations and very special birthday accommodations. Thomas the GM was professional and welcoming, exceeded expectations of all of our needs. Our housekeeper Yossi was the most kind soul and hardest worker, did an impecable job. He also hand cut out the most beautiful palm leaves onto my bed for my birthday as the most thoughtful surprise. During our stay, If you wanted privacy, it was so easy to feel as if you were the only one on the island. If you wanted social, there was plenty of activities like yoga on the beach, movie in the park, and dj sun-SET! The guest we met at the activities were quickly lifelong friends, including the staff! There was such a good mix of people and everybody was so friendly. The island itself was the most beautiful place we have ever seen. 10/10 recommend the painting class with Siette, we painted the most beautiful paintings to take home thanks to him!! The food was great everywhere! Each place offered a range of cuisines available at any given time and the quality of the service at every restaurant was top tier!! You were able to build relationships with the staff because you ate at each restaurant multiple times because of either the menu or the employees remembered something special about you. They truly cared about you as a guest and did everything possible to elevate your stay. Thank you staff! We don’t have any kids, but we noticed there was a couple things for them to do. However, we didn’t notice many kids while we were there. I’d say it’s more of an adult only location. The upkeep and maintenance is also on point. The facilites are well taken care of!! 10/10 will be back! Thanks again Thomas, Migu, Yossi. And also Dodi, Jau and Ucup-amazing bartenders, Richie, Sunjauna the lifeguards. The hotel itself is impeccable. You would expect that from Meridian property, of course come out to me what made this trip so incredibly special is that I was traveling solo with a little bit of a broken heart, and every individual that I encountered that worked there all my staff made me feel incredibly special, and truly took care of every that I had. The person that drew my bath every night, to Jazi the scuba pro, to the Chef Asaf to Yuhad, to Dehmi, to Musta all of the most amazing care in the world of me.
