My husband and I chose LUX for our honeymoon after carefully comparing several resorts, and it quickly stood out as the top-rated option. Working in the hotel industry, I know what to look for when reading reviews, and LUX exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away, particularly by the food. Everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and prepared from scratch. Visiting the gardens where the ingredients are sourced made our dining experience even more special. Without a doubt, it was the best food we’ve ever had.
Beyond the exceptional cuisine, there was always something fun and engaging to do, so boredom was never a concern—even during our 10-day stay. At first, we worried that we might run out of activities, but there was more than enough to keep us entertained. The warmth and hospitality of the LUX staff made our stay truly memorable. Certain people really stood out: Thu, Jojo, and Evi from the spa were not only kind but also incredibly knowledgeable, making our time there so relaxing. It was the best spa experience we’ve ever had. We loved the complimentary juice, tea, and snacks, and of course all the scents.
Shakawt, one of the drivers, kept us laughing and entertained throughout our trips. He has such a fun personality and a passion for hospitality, and his rapport with the locals and guests alike was impressive. He was amazing with kids, and we loved getting to know him. We even would just drive laps around with him so we could chat with him. His ability to speak multiple languages and make each guest feel “first class,” was remarkable.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Mojibur, one of the gardeners, whose friendly demeanor added a personal touch to our experience. I was pleasantly surprised by how even the gardening staff went out of their way to check in on us. Vida was another highlight—her bright and bubbly personality lit up every event, and we loved the game nights she hosted.
However, the person who made our stay truly exceptional was Anfal, our housekeeper, along with his partner Ameen. Anfal went above and beyond in every way, paying close attention to the smallest details. From replenishing our water supply to folding our clothes neatly and arranging our toiletries, his service was impeccable. The room was always spotless—so clean that it felt like home, something I rarely experience in hotels. His towel art, especially the cat and dog he created after we mentioned our pets, was a delightful surprise. One evening, we returned to find a luxurious bubble bath with a floral arrangement that took our breath away.
As our stay progressed, we got to know Anfal on a more personal level. He consistently asked how he could enhance our experience and even took time one evening to show us the fish in the nearby waters. His dedication, warmth, and thoughtful gestures made us feel truly cared for.
While we’ll certainly miss the beauty of LUX and its pristine beaches, what we’ll miss most and the reason we will come back is the bright smiles and genuine kindness of the staff. We can’t wait to return!
P.S. I truly wish I could mention everyone by name—every staff member was amazing.
One small recommendation: Hand sanitizer stations before meals would be great!
