It is a lovely island for vocation. Nice food, perfect view and also helpful staff. The price is all inclusive with unlimited cocktail and food. It is very Especially thank for the decoration and cleaning provided by Laltu. Really appreciate it.

They say this resort was refurbished last year. Mmm. Cosmetically yes but it’s still old and needs major structural work. The staff are delightful and very friendly. Arrival was warm and welcoming. Gardens are dense with natural established trees and well maintained. Adult only pool is bleak and glum. No good vibes there. There is a bar with live music which sadly reminds me of a stay at a club med. Lovely view of the sunset. The vibe is much less sophisticated than say Velifushi where I just came from. More ambience in the restaurant with a view of the ocean but super busy so it feels like a canteen at dinner time. Tables close to one another and unlike other hotels where you have your own waiter for duration of your stay or same table - here you’re hunting around trying to find an available table. All inclusive here - includes sparkling wine compared to Velifushi and more cocktail options. The food so far has been good. Variety of foods from around the world. Surprised - again no salmon or fresh sashimi. Cooked reef fish. Curries and roasts. Good salad and dessert bar. We’re in the lagoon pool villa. A little disappointing. The photos are deceiving. This property is old and the colours may be bright but it’s not a 4 star property. Read less

Maldivian Island Escape

This is our 3rd visit to Helengeli Oblu. Post their refurbishment and additional villas, beach pools and speciality restaurants it does not disappoint in any way. This island offers a breezy side (sunset) and a calm side (sunrise). There’s always a shady spot and an umbrella awaiting you for some peaceful relaxation. We choose Helengeli so my husband can snorkel. The house reef is one of the delights to encounter everyday and a great way to work off the extra kilos added by the fabulous AI dining plan. The reef is like swimming in an aquarium. Not to be missed. Some days however out on the reef are not for the faint hearted. However, what makes this a stand out island is their staff. It feels unjust to single out individuals when it is evident that team work is at the heart of this island. The genuine care and happy nature to provide service that excels dominates the culture of Core Atmosphere. Our thanks to Mannas who went out of his to ensure we had the best holiday. Nothing was ever too much! Naseer and the front of house team who are made of many individuals from around the world. There is Shubham who is just like a nija appearing everywhere and at anytime he is needed. We feel we would like to personally recognise some of the other team(s) who we met daily and enjoyed their company and help. Their smiles and genuine desire to go over an above was quite exceptional. Front of house and restaurant; Lyndon, Varum, Usham, Ellie, Sergio, Ajay, Chimamay, Sappe, Nash (hostess with the warmest smile). Hospitality and drinks; Ritzi, Witek, Sam and Anjali. You went out your way to make our stay special and memorable. The Executive Chef Ajay has a compelling team of creatives who craft fine dining throughout the resort. We do have to recognise Binod especially for his fresh sea food pasta and pizza and morning poached eggs. We dined in not only main restaurant but the two specialties they have. Just Grill and Raga Route. Quality and presentation awesome. We also paid to have their Smokey Lunch which was exceptional and cannot recommend highly enough. A seafood platter and prawns fit for kings!!! We were extended an invitation to join a Martin Codax wine gala hosted by Nicolas and Celina which was outstanding. Fine wines accompanied amazing food and fabulous professional service. Lai thank you for tirelessly searching for our hats. Delivered back to us with a smile (and the patience of a saint). No stay is complete without housekeeping; thank you Haneef for a spick and span room and towel animals. Please accept our apologies for names misspelled 🙈. And for those we missed in our roll call, we thank you all. Till we return again and hopefully meet once more. Mr Ali Shakir, you have a world class team. Everyone is helpful, welcoming, warm, energetic & attentive. They will try their best to fulfill all your needs & request. Noora especially helped with my special marriage proposal request, she helped me from head to tail, make the most out of my budget , helped to made my once in a lifetime moment extra meaningful Also A Jay from the restaurant being very warm, remembered my preference everyday, always greeting me with his signature smile, I just love it. Everyone, literally everyone is being very nice Even Ahatyu my daily house keeping is also extra polite & friendly. Except only one of the staff might need more training which is samsul, from the excursion team. During the fishing excursion. The instruction given to all of us was very unclear, just handed us the rolling tools and instructed us to drop the bait. But after awhile everybody started to check their bait because of no instruction were given, we did not know to check or not to check so everyone just did accordingly to their guts instinct. This seems like pissed Samsul as he was yelled to most of us “why u rolling, no rolling” “why u like to rolling, just let go” so we finally understand to just throw the bait & let it sit? Wasn’t really an experience for me. Clearer instructions should be given beforehand. Read less

Fantastic experience, dream location. everything was perfect. Laltu, the guy who took care of our room did an exceptional job. The food is varied, international and is always plentiful. The reef is stunning, you don't need to do special excursions but just go a few meters from the beach to see it.
