Where is it

Located 118km northwest of Malé in Baa Atoll. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 20-minute fixed wing domestic flight to Dharavandhoo Island followed by a 10-minute speedboat transfer to Royal Island.

Hotel information

148 classically designed Beach Villas. All with terrace, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, satellite TV, complimentary WiFi, telephone, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, hairdryer, and safe, bathrobes and slippers, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

All Inclusive option: includes breakfast lunch and dinner in the main restaurant and afternoon tea and snacks at the pool terrace. Drinks include bottled water, tea and coffee, canned or bottled soft drinks and juice. House wine, beer and selected house brand spirits (gin, vodka, rum, arrack, brandy & whiskey) plus selected cocktails, from the main bar and pool terrace, from 10:00am–1:00am. Mini-bar with two small coca colas and two canned fruit juices, replenished once per day (all other items at a charge). Sports including snorkelling equipment, dingy sailing and canoeing. One night-fishing excursion per guest per stay, when staying 6 nights or more.

Please note: Champagne and premium spirits are available at an extra charge.

Premium all inclusive: includes breakfast, lunch and dinner at the main restaurant. Guests can also select one a la carte meal per day at the pool terrace or Raabondhi restaurant. Afternoon tea, a wide range of wines, beers and premium brand spirits, cocktails, tea & coffee, soft drinks and bottled water throughout the day. Mini-bar (replenished once daily) and a selection of land and water sports such as badminton, tennis, snorkelling, windsurfing and stand up paddle boarding. $100 credit per person per stay can be used towards either the spa or diving.

I really liked the hotel, the employees are friendly and attentive, I would especially like to note Minny activity and thoughtfulness. I recommend visiting it at any time of the year. The weather is great here and it's a great holiday. I also recommend trying the activities at the diving center. They are great and worth money.

Just beautiful places, my favorite part is the coral bay that surrounds the island. you can see magnificent fish of all colors while being at the water's edge. A big thanks to hotel staff with a special mention for ROJI who is always there when we need something or informations.

My wife and I had a honeymoon trip to Royal Islands Resort & Spa hotel recently, and we can say it is a true heaven on earth. It was our first time in Maldives and we are happy that we chose this place. I would like thank the team of Royal Island Resort, and specifically our Island host Sonia for being very helpful and attentive to all our requests. From the first day we arrived to the island, to our departure to Male we felt warmth and care of the resort staff. Sonia event came to say goodbye at 4am and make sure we depart well. At the same time I want to say a word of appreciation to our wonderful waiters at their Boli Bar and especially Sha, and the best bartender at the pool bar! They were both very kind and nice to us during our stay and managed to make our vacation so great! All in all I really enjoyed our stay, and shall definitely come back one day! Very attractive island with own home reef and fantastic variety of fishes. So, snorkeling here is an unforgettable experience. However, you may get a feeling that the hotel saves on you where and when possible. 1-2 booked flights to the resort can make you wait at Male airport for as much as 6 hours (my case). You can take a better earlier flight but the hotel will charge you extra 245 USD per person. The choice of food is big but on the third day you see that it is rather limited and that the waitress ignores you if you don't buy extra drinks. Still, I would recommend the place for its quiteness, cleanness, tranquility and amazing fish world. Our impression of the resort was significantly improved by Noble. He was assigned to our family to guide us through our stay. His support and care were extremely valuable - he appeared even on his days off when we had problems. We are extremely thankful for his involvement! If not him, we hardly would rate the stay so high. Thank you, Noble, for your help! Read less
