Where is it

Located 118km northwest of Malé in Baa Atoll. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 20-minute fixed wing domestic flight to Dharavandhoo Island followed by a 10-minute speedboat transfer to Royal Island.

Hotel information

148 classically designed Beach Villas. All with terrace, air-conditioning and ceiling fan, satellite TV, complimentary WiFi, telephone, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar*, hairdryer, and safe, bathrobes and slippers, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child.

All Inclusive option: includes breakfast lunch and dinner in the main restaurant and afternoon tea and snacks at the pool terrace. Drinks include bottled water, tea and coffee, canned or bottled soft drinks and juice. House wine, beer and selected house brand spirits (gin, vodka, rum, arrack, brandy & whiskey) plus selected cocktails, from the main bar and pool terrace, from 10:00am–1:00am. Mini-bar with two small coca colas and two canned fruit juices, replenished once per day (all other items at a charge). Sports including snorkelling equipment, dingy sailing and canoeing. One night-fishing excursion per guest per stay, when staying 6 nights or more.

Please note: Champagne and premium spirits are available at an extra charge.

Premium all inclusive: includes breakfast, lunch and dinner at the main restaurant. Guests can also select one a la carte meal per day at the pool terrace or Raabondhi restaurant. Afternoon tea, a wide range of wines, beers and premium brand spirits, cocktails, tea & coffee, soft drinks and bottled water throughout the day. Mini-bar (replenished once daily) and a selection of land and water sports such as badminton, tennis, snorkelling, windsurfing and stand up paddle boarding. $100 credit per person per stay can be used towards either the spa or diving.

Regular island-hopping excursions*. Overnight picnic trip*. 

Maakanaa Restaurant (buffet, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and Raabondhi Restaurant (à la carte specialty seafood cuisine, open for lunch and dinner). 3 bars including Boli Bar (lounge and fun pub) and Pool Bar.

Evening entertainment in the main bar, including live bands and shows.

Swimming pool. Fitness centre. Araamu Spa* offering a range of beauty treatments and massage, in indoor and outdoor treatment rooms, with sauna, Jacuzzi and steam rooms. Water sports including PADI scuba-diving*, snorkelling, day and night fishing*, big-game fishing*. Tennis (floodlighting available at a charge), squash, table tennis, volleyball, badminton and billiards. 

Room service*. Complimentary WiFi available in main reception, Boli Bar and Raabondhi Restaurant.

Just had 2 wonderful weeks in the Royal Island Resort & Spa. Everything was amazing about this place, from the moment we arrived until we left. Just had 2 wonderful weeks in the Royal Island Resort & Spa. Everything was amazing about this place, from the moment we arrived until we left. The property is well maintained with lush gardens and very clean. The food is diverse with plenty of cloice. Always something wonderful to try and well presented. The staff in the restaurant will go out of this world to accomodate you in any way, with whatever you want if not available. Special mention to Shamvell, Anil, Mithila they went behond our expectation to make our stay memorable. But all the staff are unbelivable friendly warm and helpul, can't do enough for you. The all inclusive package had plenty of choices on drink and cocktails, very happy with it. We had afternoon snacks included as well in the restaurant. We stayed in a sunset villa which was lovely, perfect for watching the sunset. Very quiet. The reef is spectacular, the best snorkeling ever. The snorkeling equipment and some water sports were included on our all inclusive. I love snorkeling so I done it twice a day. You can go around the whole island snorkeling and I swam with turtles, black tip sharks (never to far from a shark) plenty!!!! Eagle rays, manta rays and all sizes and colours of wonderful beautifull fish, corals etc... We loved every single minute, can't wait to go back. Read less

For the first time we visited the Royal Island Resort & Spa on Horubadhoo Island at the Maldives. What a beautiful place! The Royal Island Resort fully lived up to our expectations in quality, beauty and attention from their staff. We felt pampered and taken care of by everyone but especially Pawan, our point person. Would go back tomorrow!

The staff throughout the resort is extremely warm, friendly, helpful and cooperative. The property is very well maintained. Convenient access to the beach from every villa is a great boon. The snorkeling around the island is absolutely wonderful!!!

Fantastic servis : restaurante yang man from India,, he worked in last part restaurant I forgot his name, he fullfil every wish….. Supervisor Mithila was amazing with deal every problem, his advise were useful, kind and willing And sport centrum fantastic service Ashad he played with me table tennis because I was single. A lot of fun
