I’ve been already to several environments but this was the best till now for sure. Food was sooo fresh and delicious and beside the great Buffett , the Grill Restaurant was simply outstanding.. I ate globally in many dozen steak restaurants but the tenderloin steak offered there find easily the way into the top 3. The adult pool perfectly fit into sunset direction and staff there was also simply perfect ! Ajith always saw when it was time for a new drink and of course he was super friendly 🥂 the buffet restaurant offered a huge various of food across the globe including Chinese food, India, European style etc … and the super friendly service staff like Bandula made every visit to a special event . Trips are perfectly organised and I can highly recommend the nurse shark tour 🦈 we will surely come back ! Read less

Honeymoon at Sun Siyam Iru Veli - 14 days! A review Facts:1 Stay 15.04-28.04 – 14D/13N Rooms: WaterVilla Sunset Villa 641 / Sunise Villa 622 Type. PAIS – Premium All inclusive Signature What was used: All Restaurants, In Room Dining, Floating Breakfast, Local Island Discovery, Guided Snorkeling Trip, Lucky Sunset Dolphin Tour, Health Care Service, Spa In this review you will find good reasons to go there and experience great hospitality, service and people, but also things that you might avoid and where we identify room for improvement. Also we will go into a great health care service by Dr. Ahmed, in case you need that at your stay. So please read everything to make up your mind, but be aware, we stayed for a longer period of 14 days, which uncovers certain things more detailed than in a 3/5/7 day long stay! The Start After we have been lucky in arriving really early, we were welcomed by our Ambassador. Got some base facts and informed that we are sadly not able to move into our room like others, but we are welcomed to relax in the “Good Vibe Lounge”. Sounds good, but honestly, the lounge is a dark room, airconditioned with a large tv to watch Netflix or youtube, while the Paradise is a few meters away. So we just changed clothes, had a walk at the beach and lunch. Ambassador 2/10 (for the room change the 2 points) Regarding the Ambassador, you will read a lot of great experiences, we know that from other guests during our stay as well, but let me start with that - having an Ambassador can be a match or not. In most cases it is a match. For us it was not. The start was good, we had some issues at our room, they got fixed fast. My wife could not sleep well the 3nd night due to the strong winds that hits our villa and let the doors and such create pretty loud noises, so we could change the room. That´s where it started to slowly getting worse. 1st of all, my wife loves to let me organize and align the stuff during our vacations/honeymoon, but our ambassador mainly reacted in a proper time when my wife wrote. So we started really fast, that I wrote the message from her phone as the responses been way faster than when I wrote. The communication for the room change could have been improved. At the end it was 5hrs from the request till the room change, which is fine, but we constantly had to follow up as the stated next step was not proactively communicated (see the room prior to check that we not change for the same situation, get the luggage picked up and such), we would have preferred to just be able to see the room, prepare our luggage and enjoy our honeymoon instead of to take care of everything more or less by ourselves. And later on it has not getting any better. Meet ups been always a nightmare as it was always like we have to jump when she called or it was hard to meet and align excursions. Or she said she is coming, but in fact 30min later she was there as she took care of other arriving guests in the meantime. That created a lot less relaxation and hospitality for us than we would have expected by having an ambassador. It says a lot when you have your last day and your ambassador just shares the info when to leave and align your breakfast wish without any word of seeing you leaving or similar and on top, on the next morning when your Water Airplane is waiting to pick you up and all other ambassadors farewell them, but your ambassador refuse to join that. Really sad to see and not really a professional attitude. Our personal view, if you have a match with your ambassador, that will be the case for most, you have a great support otherwise to organize most of the stuff by the app will make it relaxing for yourself rather than the annoyance you can have the other way around. Food/restaurants: Aqua orange 7/10 You can enjoy Breakfast, lunch and dinner at Aqua orange at a Buffet at all 3 . The service staff is really great, we mainly sat in the area with great hospitality, jokes and smiling faces from Varma, Bandula and Ashrag. Thank you so much for your great hospitality and service! Saying this, for the dinner there are theme topic dinner nights, here is room for improvement as the dishes are more often the same and the variety within the theme to the other theme evenings is not really noticeable if you stay there for a couple of nights. Additional info: If you stay here for 3/5/7d and vary in that time with the other dinner restaurants (Grouper Grill/Roma), you might not get a long with that feeling, but if you stay for longer, you experience it is a lot of repetitive even with every evening having a different theme. I highly recommend the Friday evening there as it is Maldivian night (Jaafaiy). Improvement suggestion: But be aware, if you cannot handle hot/spicy food well, better check with a chef the dishes as the signs for the dishes are in an update with Fayaz (Food & Beverage Manager) to get an improvement to better highlight what is also for European already “spicy”. We had a longer chat with him and he has been aware of some of the topics we highlighted here and that they are already working on improving those! Grouper Grill 10/10 At Grouper Grill you can select your courses (pre, main, dessert) at Lunch and dinner. The food at Grouper was always good. Also the great team of Hashem with Kumar, Naail and heartwarming Uma made every meal there really nice. As my wife can´t handle spicy food the team even made it possible that we get a table on Friday evening even it was fully booked, so she could eat smth for sure not spicy. The food and hospitality at Grouper was really what you are looking for during your honeymoon stay. Some evenings they just felt that we just wanted to be together for us, sometimes good for a longer fun chat. Roma 3/10 At Roma, we had 3x dinner. Our 1st dinner at Roma was a really bad experience. We just have been seated and a few moments later it started to rain. At Roma literally all tables are seated in the outside area, so it had to be moved under the roofed area. A few guests got directly seated in the roofed area, while the rest was just lost and did not been taken care of at all till the furniture was “saved”. Here 1 staff member should be taken care of the guests and start seating them, so you do not feel lost for 15min when just trying to avoid not to stand in the way. After that we also had to wait to be taken care of with water, basket of bread and order our courses. Sadly also at our 2nd and 3rd visit, to check if that 1st visit was just a bad day, we had to experience that the hospitality we experienced by the team of Grouper or our hosts at Aqua is not the same at Roma. The food was good, the plates been pre-warmed. You will also experience that the salt grinder might not work properly, no matter which you get. Improvement suggestion: That should be checked by the staff pre-opening and make sure that those are up and running for the evening. Bars: 9/10 Chemistry bar we only visit at our arrival, so we can´t say much about it, as our home turf was the Fresh Water Bar. Fresh water bar was outstanding taken care of by Bhawesh, Limon and Ajith, who providing the drinks at the pool, at Grouper Grill and at the bar. The drinks not always taste exact the same, but still always good. They take every feedback and adjustment and even remember them as well as favorite drinks. They really take care of you as a guest and try to make your stay during the time memorable. Highly recommend to be there for a sundowner drink and enjoy the picturesque view on the pool to the sunset. In Room Dining / Floating Breakfast: 3/10 We had a continental breakfast as in room dining, which costs 34$. You get at the end a tiny selection of what you can eat at the breakfast buffet at Aqua Orange. At that morning we just had to order it as my wife had a terrible neckpain and did not feel like to get up to have the breakfast there. Personal view: as most of the in room dining is the same course you get as part of PAIS, there should be just an additional charge for the room delivery instead of those prices. The Floating Breakfast we got on a morning where it was a rainy morning. Not perfect conditions for the floating part, beside you like rainy food. Sadly all warm dishes been cold when they arrived at us. For the prize of 122 $ for the insta pics, I would at least expect warm (not hot anymore, which I understand that this is literally impossible) plates and warm dishes, but plates and dishes been sadly cold. Personal view: if you really want such for the insta pics, the details aren’t matter, but for me who like to eat good food, I want at least warm dishes at that rate. And also Salt and Pepper Grinder, which have been also missing (there was not even salt/pepper from paper bags as a stand in solution). I would not do that again. Room: 10/10 Water Villa 641 is the last Villa before the Grand and King Ocean Suite. Our “Room Boy” was Janith, who took outstanding care of the room and our stuff. He changed our towels every later morning and evening, wrote nice messages on the bed with the flowers/leaves and always checked when we are in the room or outside and/or if he should clean the room when he has not noticed that we left the room. It was really great service and nice pleasure having him as our staff member who took care of us in the villa. Also filled up the fridge with the favorite French vanilla coffee for my wife or informed that he will bring that later on, when he hasn’t had it right away available. Always has a big smile in his face. Villa 641 also had the luxury for us to see 2x dolphin groups crossing the view in the last 4 days we mainly spent at the villa and enjoy the sun, and the view. Footbridge: The footbridge to the Spa, Roma restaurant and water villa needs to be reworked! The Wooden planks need to be cleaned/exchanged and the screws definitely needed to checked regularly to avoid injuries, it is a barefoot hotel and with those screws out, it is dangerous. Health Service/Medical: 20/10 The health care is free, which was good for us. I slipped on a stair and really bad crushed my knee incl. bigger open wound. I got driven to the Health Service run by Dr. Ahmed, who has been a great support to me and us. I got more or less daily changed bandage. He always checked to be there to assist me with my injury, took care of us and aligned when I go diving/snorkeling or wanted to enjoy the pool to be able to clean the wound and change the bandage. He and the nurse took every effort to make us able to spend our honeymoon even with that injury best way possible. One night I had a heavy fever out of nowhere and when I wrote that the next morning, he directly offered support and recommendations and checked once in a while via a message if everything is alright or if we need anything to make sure that we can spend the best honeymoon under those circumstances. Thank you so much Doc for your effort! Dive center: 9/10 Resort Diving is relax diving. I joined them for a orientation dive with Sabah. Sabah was also my dive guide for all 5 dives I have done there. It was a great pleasure and trustful, fun connection. I had outstanding good dives with him. Felt safe and well guided with a lot of fun and beautiful impressions of the underwater world. Thank you so much for guiding me, taking pictures and videos and your time and effort to teach me a bit of Dihevi Spa/Massage: 8/10 (bcs of the prices, the massage is a 10/10) You get a 1x 100$ Spa credit or 3x regular dives. The cheapest massage starts at 188 $. If you want to get a second, you might be lucky and get a discount voucher, but if not 188$ for a massage is pretty expensive. We both had a massage and my massage therapist (Pia) really took good care of everything I wrote on the board before what are my issues and where she should take care of. In our eyes the price policy should be evaluated, especially when guests are staying there for longer than the typical 3/5/7d Excursions: Guided Snorkeling Tour: 9/10 Guided Snorkeling Tour was a good experience, pretty relaxed. You can choose to snorkel with the life jacket or without, but they recommend to where it if you are not a good swimmer. The boat will pick you up at any time you are tired, need a break or just not interested in keep going on snorkeling. Was fun and a nice way to snorkel a bit outside of the house reef as you do a short boat trip for it. Lucky Dolphin Sunset Tour: 10/10 We have been Lucky as we had a stunning Sunset with a large group of Dolphins giving us an impressive show for nearly 45min and guided us for a while as well after. On top when we just drove back to the hotel area, we got another small group of Doplhins crossing us. So, if you are lucky this tour is just breath taking. Local Island Discovery 1/10 2.15 hours - including 1.5 hours at a supermarket with junk, international sweets like Oreo, materials and co and a souvenir store. We didn't see the announced big Banyan Tree. Info from the rest of the tour: Education is free. Up to 10th grade on the local island, then atoll capital or to Male. Apart from Dhivehi, Arabic is permanently compulsory. English can be opted out of after 10th grade. Health care is free of charge. So absolutely waste of time for the information provided. We have done similar in other countries and got a lot more insights about the culture than by this excursion. Summary/Recommendation: Would we recommend that hotel? Yes! Just not for 14d stay, but that might be such a small island anyway at all. We would recommend to do Insel Hopping to maybe see different Atolls with difference in the underwater world. But yes, we definitely recommend it. Our own ambassador experience is just 1 bad experience out of so many good experiences and Fayaz and the stuff will change/update certain topics recommended here for sure. Could it have been better? Yes, for sure. But still, we had a memorable time with great hospitality and people Read less
