Come evening you'll be spoilt for choice when picking a restaurant, all of which are accompanied by stunning ocean views. Wonderfull hotel for relaxing in paradise! Very friendly and attentive service staff. The food of the buffet was wunderful. We love the dishes of the chef Chaminda and the perfect service of Shakil and Sureeda. Our personal guide Reemq did a perfect job and we felt every time verry well informed!

Where to even begin with this review? We stayed at the Sun Siyam Vilu Reef hotel from the 12th March to the 22nd of March, Room 407. From the moment we arrived at the sea plane terminal where staff from the hotel met us, we were treated exceptionally well. On arrival at the island our personal member of staff was Niyaaf. He could not be more polite, helpful and courteous, something that was echoed through every member of staff we dealt with. The island itself is simply paradise and the whole experience was surreal for us. It was like a dream come true. However what blew us away in equal measure was the way in which we were treated by all we encountered at the hotel. We had the emerald all inclusive package and we were treated to some of the most beautiful food we had ever eaten. The people on the island were incredible. Shayan the waiter, what a funny polite and helpful man. Really could not do more for us. Matih who kept our room lovely and clean and fresh, such a nice and hard working guy. Ayman who always had a smile for us and time to talk to us at meal times. Really professional. Sudeera made us laugh every day and always had time to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Suhail who always looked after us and made sure we were sat for meals where were comfortable, an absolute gentleman. Poonam who could not be more helpful and was an incredibly talented chef. Beautiful human being. Chef Nittin Jain, wow what a guy. His food was out of this world and he was so polite and courteous. Every member of staff was fantastic we cannot thank them enough. The resort was beautifully clean and the restaurants were amazing. We had free access to water sports for an hour a day which was plenty of time. The pool was beautiful and clean with an incredible view and great atmosphere. This hotel, Island and Holiday was everything we could possible wish for and we cannot thank the Sun Siyam Vilu Reef enough. Read less

This is the third time I've been to the Maldives and was really disappointed with this resort. No real issues as such, just benchmarking with the others which set a standard and this place did not deliver. We had a beach villa, the one right next to the Nautilus Bar which I found nice, but my girlfriend thought it was lacking a bit. We went in Feb this year (14th onwards) and what was supposed to be the best time of the year turned out really bad. It rained all day for three days and the wind at the start of the holiday was awful - we couldn't believe it. This obviously set the tone. There are only 2 bars on the island, one near an outdoor pool (which is always packed - no chance of a sunbed) and a large one at the end of the island called the Nautilus which I liked. The entertainment on the island is non existent and what there is isn't worth the time, unless you like a George Clooney and Julia Roberts movie in the main bar (seriously). The beaches are clean, but aren't the best I've been to, they are ok. The main eating area is ok so is the food, but it tends to run out quick and queues for pancakes in a morning are long, still queuing I believe!. The breakfasts weren't great, in fact some days we didn't even bother with them, some days we didn't also bother with lunch - sacrilege on one of my holidays! The sea - plane transfer is long from the main airport and you have to stop off at other resorts to pick other passengers up and drop off. You will be on the plane longest either way, roughly an hour, the time all adds up! especially if your coming from Manchester and have a transfer in Dubai. If you have ever been on a sea-plane before you will know the novelty of it soon runs out after 10 mins as its extremely hot, severely cramped and uncomfortable. You will sweat your socks off. All in all the resort was an average holiday, but not worth the money we paid at all. We went to Mauritius in Oct 23 for half the price at the Lagoon Attitude and had an awesome holiday. My recommendation - The best resort I've been to in the Maldives is Kuramathi - this place is the best!- beaches, places to eat, standard of food and that awesome sea, followed by Kuredu which was also great!. I would go back to those, but not here again. Severely dinted my Maldvies karma. Read less
