My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Westin for our Honeymoon- 2 in a beachfront villa and 2 nights in the overwater bungalow. It was seamless and easy from the moment we landed in Male. There was someone waiting with a sign for us, they drove us over to the seaplane terminal where we waited about an hour for the seaplane in the Bonvoy lounge (looked a lot nicer than the other lounges we saw). Short 30 minute flight to the island and were greeted by a bunch of staff waiting on the dock and waving to welcome us. The rooms were very clean with service twice a day. With our membership we got free breakfast, so we did not pick a meal plan. The breakfast is a buffet so there was no need for us to eat more than two meals a day. Unlike other resorts I had read, the room had free water bottles as well. Whether doing the dinner buffet or eating at Hawkers, we averaged about $220 for dinner and drinks every night. With a free breakfast, this was essentially what we paid for food and dining per day. I had read about some other resorts feeling like you are getting nickel and dimed for things. This was not the case here. They had plenty of activies but were not pushy to sell them. Plenty of free things to do- free snorkel gear, free kayak for 2 hours a day, Santo the activities manager set up a free volleyball game one day, and did a free yoga class another day. No upselling what so ever, plenty of free activities. Our biggest takeaway was the staff. the island is small enough that the staff recognizes you after just one night. They know your names and remember your room numbers and other details, which we found impressive. I have never received such personal and friendly service at a hotel. As we did not book at the Four Seasons or Ritz we did not expect THIS level of service. But it was far better than any Four Seasons I have ever stayed. Taysa, Sri, Anupan, all provided outstanding and personable service during our meals. The head chef Minh could be seen around the dining room taking personal requests from guests at meals as well. To exemplify how friendly the service was, every single day Naveen, a line cook, remembered our faces and a special indian breakfast we liked. I had never been to a hotel where even the line cooks form a friendly relationship with you. The property is amazing and you can tell by the pictures. What really made our honeymoon exceptional was the service, and even the personal connections you start to form with the staff after just one night. Having researched many other hotels for our trip, I gathered that this level of service was above and beyond what we would have found at others. Read less

So this is what brought us for our first visit on the Maldives to the Westin and not the St Regis or Le Meridien. As a family of 3 the Westin offers with the deluxe villa a separate living room with sofa bed for privacy. The most valuable benefit here is the whole team, which is kind, professional and supporting in all terms of service. We thank you very much for this amazing stay here. I spent my first vacation alone and was on the Maldives for the first time to gain diving experience. The large, luxurious, well-equipped villa, the private garden with pool, the access to the sea were just perfect. The staff are very helpful, surprised me with little touches and I had the pleasure of Julia taking special care of my concerns - she was available for me day & night and always helped me, made my vacation even easier where she could and helped me with all my concerns in a friendly and discreet manner, which is very pleasant as a solo traveler. The diving center was also very keen to carefully introduce me, as a diving beginner, to the beauty of the sea and took me to many different places and practiced my skills with me. The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo is the perfect place for anyone who wants to spend an undisturbed vacation in a small, very well-kept resort and is looking for peace and quiet and a little luxury.
