In the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Transfer time from Malé International Airport: 30 minutes by seaplane (remember to pack light for the seaplane transfer as luggage allowance is 20kg plus 5kg hand luggage, per person). Was so glad that I made this choice as it absolutely exceeded my expectations with its fantastic service. Every single staff was so welcoming and treated my girl like a star. They remembered her name, always greet her with a smile, performed magic trick to entertain her during breakfast, and surprised her with handmade bracelet and necklace. Our wonderful and talented Butler Umid even created beautiful Sand Art of manta ray on the doorstep of our villa with her name on it. In the kids’ club, the staff spent time with her playing outdoor and colouring indoor. All of them were really good with kids and I would like to thank everyone for creating such beautiful memories for all of us!

What we hoped would be a dream vacation turned out to be much more. Vakkaru exceeded our expectations and we are already dreaming of going back one day. From start to finish, from to airport back to the airport, all staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming, attentive and caring. A special word of thanks to and praise for our butler Naaish, who was outstanding and very knowledgeable about Vakkaru (and beyond!), as well as for our housekeepers Naja and Saittey, who maintained our overwater villa in spotless condition and spoiled us with little things that made our experience unforgettable. The ladies at the Parrotfish kids club (Aisuluu, Joo, Maasha and Robiya) deserve extraordinary praise, as they entertained my daughter in oh so many ways and were nothing short of amazing, wonderful, caring and the best. My daughter had the best time with them and is very eager to go back.
Gratitude and appreciation is due to each and every member of staff (too many to name and afraid to overlook a department…), as every single staff member that we spoke or waved to was simply amazing. The Vakkaru facilities are absolutely stunning and the resort is beautiful and immaculately clean, but the people in the Vakkaru team were the cherry and icing on the cake!
We went turtle snorkelling and manta ray snorkelling and were thrilled, especially by the amazing number of manta rays we saw. A once in a lifetime experience!
