The hotel

This intimate hotel offers simple wholesome Mauritian hospitality and sits in lush, tropical gardens, across the road from a lovely beach. There is a generous array of activities and sports on offer, and make sure you discover some of the hotel's Otentik experiences — a Mauritian cookery class, maybe a home-cooked dinner in local home or enjoy local music and sega dancing at sunset. Alternatively, there are two lovely pools, an outdoor terrace and a spa offering a range of signature treatments, making it a little bit too easy to do absolutely nothing! The cosy guest rooms have a cool and contemporary style, just ready and waiting for you to kick back and relax in.

Audrey welcomed us with a cold towel and a warm smile as did all the staff. As we got settled and ready for some food we thought it couldn't get better, but... The chef's are superb ( sorry for not mentioning you's by name but you know how you are) a wide range of cuisine from European to the delicious Mauritian Curry's. And the staff in the restaurant (manjoo,Eric, shudum, Brigitte, dushan) made us feel welcome and gave us a beautiful experience thank you for the bottom of my heart, sorry if IV missed anyone xx. As we moved to the bar, again we were greeted with big smiles and even bigger hearts. A special thanks to jay,(how make's one of the best Pina colada's IV ever had) oodesh(for his old fashioned) Phil( for everything) and pascaline( big boss x). This hotel and staff were so big hearted I must mention Manuela how invited us to her family home for a true Mauritian experience xxx Unforgettable!!! From our Maid bharia to the maintenance team ( thanks for to fixing our safe) the boat house boys on the beach, and also sunnyshine and kanen. Also a special thanks to the management staff how where always walking round the hotel engaging with everyone and how where very approachable and would always stop and chat. I could go on and about how good this hotel is but PLEASE! Visit it for yourself and have the time of your life as we have... THANK YOU Coin De mire Attitude 😘 Read less

Beautiful well-tended, grounds, clean swimming pools, spacious room. BEACH: The lovely quiet and clean beach is just a few steps away across a not-very-busy road, with white sands, clear turqouise water, comfortable sun-loungers beneath shady trees and umbrellas. There are also hotel-supplied pedalos, canoes, stand up paddle boards, boat trips to nearby beaches and snorkelling sites etc and locals offering waterskiing and other watersports. There are a couple of vendors on the beach selling boat trips and souvenirs\hats etc but they left people alone and didn't hassle anyone at all. EXCURSIONS: We went on one of the catamaran trips sold by the beach vendor (Isle aux Cerfs) and one sold by the hotel (3-Island trip) and both were equally excellent and run by cheerful, skilled and efficient crews. I'd rate both 10/10. The beaches and snorkelling sites visited were stunningly beautiful with crystal-clear emerald or turquoise waters. Incidentally the exact same "Isle aux Cerfs" trip was touted to us by our tour operator's local rep for roughly double the price of the beach vendor and I can't imagine that it could have been any better in any way. STAFF: This hotel is well-staffed and they are polite, helpful and cheerful. The level of cleanliness is exceptional, not just in the rooms but literally everywhere. There was just one exception which I can't help mentioning - a grumpy and abrupt lady on the main desk who made it obvious she resented booking us a couple of excursions and disappeared halfway through the process, leaving us to wait for her colleague to become free and finish the job. We were nothing but polite so couldn't understand her rather hostile manner. But apart from this one unpleasant individual whose name I can't recall the staff were absolutely lovely. One of the bar's very helpful bar staff, Gangesh, created a custom cocktail for my wife based on her description of her ideal blend of flavours. It was amazingly good and we promptly named it the 'Gangesh Special' and it became her standard evening appetizer during our stay. Management, I would seriously recommend you add it to your menu or regularly feature it as your Cocktail of the day! I should also mention the senior bar person, the lovely friendly Jayraj. He toiled tirelessly from early morning to late at night, keeping the very busy bar running smoothly and efficiently. FOOD: The food was on the whole very good - mostly buffet-style stuff but enough local and international variety to satisfy all tastes. I think they are missing a trick in a big way though in not doing a charcoal grill maybe twice a week - the local fresh meat, fish and prawns are quite ok sauteed or stewed, but barbequed they would be on a whole different level and the sight and smell would be pretty amazing too. SUMMARY: one of the best holidays we've had, I would definitely go back. Read less

My friends from Germany were looking for a local food experience and I proposed to eat typical Mauritian to which they looked forward after 2 weeks stay in a 5 star Resort We drove to Coin de Mire Attitude after calling the GM Ravi and Rakesh the EAM F&B...we were greeted by these Gentleman, this created a very first positive impact to my friends. After which we were greeted by the Big Chef Richard whom I have known for a couple of years. We were welcomed at the Local Restaurant by a charming lady as well as the EAM and the Chef. Local specialities offered Noodles, local deep fried fritters, Roti local bread cooked on the spot served with Pilchards or Vindaloo or chicken...Boulettes sort of Dim Sum...chilli sauces and the rest was simply sublime in the mouth. We also loved the " Panacon" drink made wz Tamarind. Very good food taste, nice set up and Value for money. I highly recommend this Restsurant to all tourists visiting the North of Mauritius. Thanks to the GM, EAM and Chef Richard and the whole CDMA Team...You rock guys!!! Read less
