We enjoyed all the places to eat but Infinity Blue was our favorite. Kids enjoyed the kids club and activities available at the beach. Our room was very nice with a view of kids pool and the beach. Would highly recommend a 4x4 tour of Heritage nature reserve. A special thank you to Vishal for a very high standard of customer service! We would definitely come back to Heritage Awali again. Second week of a 2 hotel stay in Mauritius. ++ Beautiful setting Plenty of activities to entertain all ( loved the foot golf, just don’t play in the wind !) Great free massage A la carte restaurants excellent, no issues with reservations for a big group ( favourite golf grill) Rooms pretty good Resort size good with room for everyone ( bar got busy, tough for a big group) Staff friendly, helpful and responsive (they love a survey) - - Lunch time service was pretty awful, an hour for a baguette, twice. Sea swimming was difficult with rocks and brutal current. Great stay but not quite 5 star based on the lunch food service we received. Read less

This hotel is amazing. We travelled here without children for our 26th anniversary and it didn’t disappoint us in anyway at all. The hotel organised for us to have a private bbq on the beach which was so romantic and the food was delicious... lobster, steak, lamb chops etc not to mention the starters plus salads and desserts. The weather was hit and miss but as this is winter time in Mauritius that’s to be expected but overall we had sunshine most days with only a couple of full on rainy days. The Infinity Blue was our favourite restaurant as the staff were welcoming and could not do enough for you. Shyama and her team were amazing and anticipated our every need... Vanessa, Nitisha, Luciano, Rohit, Billy, Krishna, Olivier, Deepa, Farzinah, Amit and Vidor were all amazing. The man who makes the magic happen in the kitchen is chef Deo, he is a brilliant chef who obviously enjoys his work as the food is consistently good and such a lovely man too. The Indian restaurant Zafarni and the Italian were really good and we found the food very fresh and beautifully presented. The beach is a man made beach and beach shoes are a must as there is quite a lot of of broken coral which is really sharp. The spa staff were great and really friendly and a nice place to go to just chill and use their facilities. The Zanzibar is great for evening drinks but our favourite was the infinity blue beach bar where you could sit and watch the sunset with a cocktail or two before dinner. Read less

We had an amazing holiday at Awali despite the wet weather for half of it. The hotel is beautiful, the welcome drums really do set the scene and it’s hard not to tap the occasional drum and play the same beat when you pass the drums to the Savana Restaurant. The food at Savana caters for all tastes, I doubt you will like everything but you can be sure that there is so much variety that you will certainly find enough to keep you satisfied. The Asian and Mauritian theme night are by far the best. The a la carte options are also really nice but a little more limited and you also have the option to use facilities at the sister hotels at a fee and Gin’ja was out of this world but it doesn’t come cheap, although it was worth it! Everything is super clean from the main hotel, to the bars and the rooms, and we loved the fact that if a housekeeper came to your room with an open safe they left and restricted access to maintain security of our belongings. It’s a little inconvenient but I’d rather that tbh. The kids club is amazing too, it was a little limited for our 11 year old but younger children will have the best time and let’s face it who else gives you childcare from 08:00 to 23:30 at no extra cost? We didn’t use it often but it was nice to have the occasional adult date night. If I had one criticism it is the evening activities. Outside of the occasional live music which in my view was average at best, you are limited to card or board games in the Zenzi Bar which with two children got boring after a few days. There are also a huge range of activities to cater for every type of adventurer but best of all is spending time in the Seven Cours Spa. The therapists have magical hands and we went back again and again. The Mauritian massage was out of this world and my wife said it was by far the best massage she has ever had! Awali is a cashless hotel with payment of services, spa treatments, souvenirs from the gift shop at checkout. This was incredibly useful but it would be easy for the bill to rack up. If there is were a couple of things you have to do before your vacation is over it’s snorkelling on the reef the hotel and visiting the Chamarel Distillery! Beautiful place! Read less
