The hotel

A luxurious throwback to the colonial days when Mauritius’ sugar industry thrived. Rambling grounds, residential atmosphere, and bespoke furnishings create the feel of a Victorian sugar baron's mansion. The homely feel here doesn't mean you forgo resort treats though: there are lovely pools, water sports and exquisite dining and drinking spots, from the Asian Floating Market to the beachside Boathouse and Grill. The UNESCO World Heritage site at Le Morne Mountain provides a befitting backdrop to the resort with some of the world's best diving and kite-surfing only moments away. Days are best spent on the white sand beach, one of the island's best, with its iridescent lagoon.

It was one of the memorable trip we had this summer, actually winters 😊 as it was winter time in Mauritius and it was indeed a fun-filled relaxing family time. Everything was a last minute for us – flight booking, visa (it’s a Visa free for Indians), hotel booking was also 11th Hour. After watching Youtube video review, blog reviews, finally we decided on JW Marriott Le Morne. We were welcomed on the way with a beautiful rainbow followed by a pleasant welcome from their staff. We reached earlier around 9.30 am or so, however, to our pleasant surprise we got a room as quick as possible, a complementary breakfast and also an upgrade to a Beach garden access room. Everything of the stay was memorable and a delightful experience for us a family with two daughters – 9 yr old and a 3 yr old. Room: The room no. 241 had a bulter service, we were welcomed with fruits, chocolates and a bottle of champagne. This was the best room as it had access to the beach as well as Kids play area both on opposite side of this room. It was well equipped with luxury in terms amenities, high tech switches, bath tub, closet, two wash basin and comfortable bed and couch. Milk was compliment for kids and customized food. Food: First day we opted for all meal package however, we thought that we had limited menu access with no beverages included the package was not worth. So we went back to our Breakfast only package which made sense. There are 4 restaurant + bar. Service: Quite pleased with the staff, they were very pleasant, friendly and always ready to help. My girls really enjoyed the attention they received from the staff. Kite Flyer Kids Club: It was highlight of our stay. They had temperature controlled kids pool, soft play area for kids and organized few activities during the day followed up a snack time in the evening. They had baby-sitting facility. My daughter really liked to spend time there and were able to go there with ease of access they got through our room. They circulate activity sheet on daily basis. Beach: The beach was very clean, and serene. The bar staff were very helpful and friendly. Special Mention: La Manoir dining room – Adarsh, Kunal Reception: Daniel, Leena, Butler at Room: Yash, Wilmis Boat House – Jeshika (could have done better job in getting food items esp. for kids) Kite Flyers Club – Tracy, Indrani, Audrey (Indrani was very friendly and kids enjoyed her company) Chef – Mallik at Indya took a great care of our kids dietary need and prepared wholesome meal for our little daughter on our special request. Another great family stay and a separate business stay. Exceptional property made even better by the staff. Kanen our butler seemed to anticipate every need before we voiced them. Bernard the general manager added a highly personalised touch oozing class with every interaction and Christelle at breakfast makes the world‘s best omelette

After reading all of the reviews you think you'd know what you're in for, but somehow our expectations were still blown away. My wife and I booked this as our honeymoon, keen kiters, wingfoilers etc Le Morne seemed the perfect place to go. We thought, given the occasion, we would book somewhere nice so if there was no wind or waves we would have somewhere great to be with other activities, a beautiful location and everything catered for. But we got so much more, we went horse riding, took a ride in the seaplanes, climbed the mountain and most importantly were made to feel so special. Different people want different things from their hotel experiences, some want treated to the highest level and some want to relax, laugh and get to know the people around them. I feel we got both, the level of service, attention to detail and work the staff put in made the hotel so memorable. I have never been looked after so well in my life and everything you feel you might need or want was done for you and always done with a smile. The staff were exceptional, everyone had a friendly nature to them that made us feel at home and we enjoyed getting to know some of you. We would love to thank all of you, front and back of house! Sorry we don't have everyone's names but anyone who we dealt with or even smiled or waved at.. Thanks! Some names we did remember were.. Christelle, Jayram, Charlotte, Roa, Jeshika, Kevin, Ravi, Angela, Jason, Salman, Tej, Karoona, Johnathan, Max and Benoit. So, it wasn't a goodbye... But see you again sometime!
