The staff were very professional and impeccable. The restaurant food was tasty and varied, the Mauritian evening was particularly delicious. The garden bungalows were delightful and clean and well serviced. It goes without saying that the beach location was special.

Especially the guys at the Coconut Café with Asif and his team who went out of their way for us. The facilities are amazing and there are many free activities available like paddle boarding and crazy golf. The dive centre is on site and really easy to go SCUBA diving. The food is lovely and there is a wide range to pick from. Flic En Flac is only a 10 minute walk away. One thing I would add is that the beach bungalows aren't really worth the extra price as they the same as the garden bungalows just 25 metres closer to the beach. And the beach bungalows aren't really on the beach anyway. But even with all that I still give this hotel 5* Read less

We travel a good deal, and have stayed in dozens of resorts around the world but La Pirogue is our new favourite. We got off to a good start when we were shown to our delightful thatched cottage on the edge of a peaceful coconut grove. That evening we were invited to meet some of the staff for a drinks and nibbles reception, and we met Andrew Slome, the General manager and some of his colleagues. Straightaway I new that we were in the right place; everyone we spoke to was friendly and professional. The rest of our regrettably short 8 day stay was perfect - good food, excellent service, and magnificently maintained grounds. The icing on the cake (literally) came on my birthday - a cake delivered to the room with a bottle of fizz, and a lovely meal in the seafood restaurant. We are fairly picky people, but we found nothing to complain about - we will be back at the earliest opportunity. Thanks to you and your staff Andrew, you've got it right as far as we are concerned.
