The quality of the resort, rooms, food, facilities...everything is second to none and clear to see - you will not be disappointed. From the moment you arrive you will be greeted by some of the best staff and service you could hope to experience, who cannot do enough to help. All the staff to amazing but a special to Vishnu (the Gin Master) for his fanatic ability to make everyone a special customised drink exactly to there liking, truly a master. He even brewed me a one off fruit cider well that's what he called it anyway ; - ) with turned into quite a talking point. He also has an amazing warmth & desire to make all the guest feel like his family, you could see how all thew guest really enjoyed this. Also Ridu (the man in the hat) who will make you some fantastic artwork in the sand by your spot on the beach, definitely a picture to send home to mum & dad :-) Simply put... have a holiday there, you will love it! After our original Honeymoon was cancelled due to covid this was our second option and we weren't disappointed - AI package was great, we had an ocean view villa which was amazing! PCR tests were arranged for us leaving, but also felt very safe in the resort as everyone was tested prior to check in! Awesome time, and highly recommended!

Apologies to our friends at Lux Grande for the delay in writing this review. We stayed there in August (5 in my family) for 15 nights and I have to say at it was fantastic. It’s the first holiday we’ve had (we’ve been fortunate enough to visit many great resorts in the world) where the management team took the time out to find us and talk to us to make sure everything was ok and the customer service across the whole resort by all staff was unmatched by any before. Thank you to so many that this review won’t do justice to both the resort, it’s people and the great time we had. The management team of Ashish (Managing Director), Jean (Resort Manager), Nicholas and Sandeep were terrific. Their staff to name but a few yudish, Pravesh, Rishi, Ricardo, Viresh, Shekina, Dhiren, Hossem, Annabel, Mario, Anais, Akshay, Ashwan, Vemeel, Suraj and Yasser were amazing and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. The Executive Chef was always walking around to see if everything was ok and whether they could do anything for us. The staff at the spa and sports areas were super. Finally (although there’s a lot more compliments I could add) the water sports team were very accommodating and wanted to make we enjoyed ourselves. They made us feel very welcome too and there’s so much variety too. Thank you to you all from the Ismail Family Look forward to seeing you all and Mauritius soon Afzal Ismail from UK Read less

The food was excellent in all the restaurants ( not all of which were open for our stay which was a disappointment). However we mentioned this and to make up for it Executive Sous Chef Deepuck Gooljar cooked us a special Mauritian meal from the Smokehouse menu for our last night. It was delicious! Thanks Deepuck and also a big thanks to Rishi for organising this for us. We were very well looked after by all the staff, who are a credit to the hotel, but a particular mention to Rishi, David and Sanjay the Sommelier for his help with the wine list! The included activities and watersports were a big bonus and we made the most of them! We might even take up paddle tennis now we are home?! Read less

My wife and I had long planned to visit here for our honeymoon. It was delayed several times but eventually with Mauritius reopening its borders to international guests we were able to go. The hotel is in a spectacular setting and has been beautifully designed. Some parts of it do show that it is a facility that has had a majority of it closed for quite some time, or not utilised during Covid. The management are obviously working hard to get the facility back open, and have staggered the reopening of certain parts of the hotel during this period. Probably the only disappointment for us is that we won’t get to experience the Creole Smokehouse which was closed during our stay. Other aspects of our stay that weren’t up to the standard set by the staff, was a day trip to Ile des Deux Coco (included in our booking). The island was tired, we shared it with a group of around 40-50 from a corporate team building day and it wasn’t peaceful or feel like the quality we were used to in Grand Gaube. We spent most of our time throughout our stay at the Adult pool at the Banyan tree and the team there that looked after us were wonderful. In fact the team across the entire facility couldn’t do enough for us, and I’m sorry we weren’t able to tip more to thank them for the effort to make our stay here memorable. The food in the restaurants was good generally. The Palm court selection could have been better at times. Bodrum Blue was very tasty but is a small menu, Beach Rouge similar, a small menu but also tasty and finally Inti, which was a great experience. The most unexpected and enjoyable dining experience was BB’s, the burgers at the Banyan Tree. We couldn’t get over just how enjoyable the food there was. The parmesan fries are unbelievable. Breakfast was great, and had plenty of choice. The UHT milk used on the island was probably one of my least favourite things and it definitely impacted the quality of the coffee that we were able to get from Cafe LUX*. There is a great selection of water sports available at the hotel including water skiing, snorkelling, and paddle boarding. They are a fun way to break up the day. The dive centre on site is also really well equipped. One of the evenings we had a very enjoyable wine tasting with Sanjay. Tasting some of the wines from their selection and learning a lot on the way. Our thanks for to Kumar, Ashwan, Elena, Veer, Veemal, Vishnu, Rishi, Akshay, Varoona, Elena, Sanjay, Yasser, Dhikshah, David, Dhirin and the many many more who were responsible during our time there for making it a wonderful stay. Thanks So much for the wonderful memories. Hope to see you all soon 😊 Read less
