Every element of the holiday was fantastic and the the food, service and the room were all as good as my previous visit which I didn’t think was possible. It was also great that Reedoo; the master of the beach remembered us from our last visit, and again looked after us with fantastic beach service. As we spent the majority of our time on the beach it was simply amazing to have the service Reedoo delivered, including the cool box, the healthy bento lunches delivered to our sun beds, and the special drinks. We simply didn’t have to think about anything. We have been to a number of resorts across the world and stayed in many 5 Star hotels, but I must say the pure bliss of having so much done for you made this second visit another dream come true. Thanks Reedoo, thanks everyone at LUX* Read less

We have just come back from a two week stay at this wonderful happy haven where the location is just fantastic, beautiful beaches, wonderful people, great rooms and terrific food. We stayed in a deluxe room, all inclusive and could not have wished for anything better. The room was quite spacious and very comfortable in a secluded horseshoe bay. All the rooms (beach front) have a fantastic view overlooking the Indian Ocean. There are restaurants to suit all, main one is the Palm Court (breakfast and dinner) Whilst the others, Beach Rouge, Bodrum Blue. Creole Smoke house and B.Bs which are open for lunch (no booking) and dinner (Booking) And Inti (Dinner only). You just cannot go wrong with the fantastic food that is served in all of them. Spend the day just lounging on the beach or have a free pedalo or canoe or kayak or paddle board. There is also the glass bottom boat that goes out to the reef (requires booking). In the evenings the main bar is comfortable and there is always live entertainment be it a band or a duo or sometimes just a disco, whatever is happening is is always very professional, and the live band, the Famous Nine, are really brilliant with their mixture of music for dancing. The staff are a happy and cheerful people who really enjoy their working environment be it from the management to the gardeners everyone has a smile with a good morning or good whatever the time of day, in fact they are not just staff they are the friends that you have yet to meet. Naturally you don't get to know everyone but there are ones in different positions who you come across every day. The greeters who meet you on your arrival and really make you feel welcome, it could be David or further in to reception , Elena and then round to the Cafe Lux with Karuna or Nuha and many more who show you to your room. How do you name everyone some of the them work on the beach who work with the Man with the Hat, the happy and friendly Beach master, the one and only Reedoo they are all there to help you sort out you sun bed or to get you a drink or a bite to eat or even an extra beach towel. In the bar there is Koushal, Andrew, Rajnish, Jai, Ootam, Ashwan, in the restaurants you have Hasheem, David, Vishnu, Jean-Phillipe and so many more that that we would need a book to mention them all. Down to the Spa and we cannot forget the lovely receptionist Sun (our adopted daughter!) and Joanne and others. Let us just say that you will have a great time at this wonderful watering hole. Spoil yourself go on and enjoy. Read less

We stayed for eight days in a deluxe room on an all inclusive meal plan. I would highly recommend the resort based on the following positives, negatives and booking tips: Positives - Decor/atmosphere: modern, luxurious and the restaurants in particular have different themes which provided diversity during our stay. The live music is a great way to spend your evening by the main bar. The hotel app is great as you can view the schedule daily, as well as your upcoming dinner reservations. - Friendly staff: everyone was very welcoming and helpful. Compared to other resorts I have stayed, everyone at grand gaube looked like they enjoyed working there. It felt like they were a family themselves. - Wide range of free water sports: we did a wide range of water sports on a daily basis. The hotel not only had canoes and kayaking, but also the more fancy things (also free) like water and jet skiing. Negatives: - all inclusive meal options: we stayed for eight days and found the available main meal options limiting at times. For example, at creole smokehouse there are many meal options that are not included which limits the menu ( especially if you go there 2-3 times across the entire trip) - External guests & local businesses: we attended an event one day called Sun down which was great. However I found it extremely odd how the hotel made this open to external guests - normally five star resorts cherish exclusivity. Another example, by the main sun beds, there are a variety of local businesses selling hats and scarves on the main beach. Given this happened daily, it let the beachfront down for a five star hotel. Also didn’t appreciate everyday, being asked if I wanted to a hire a boat or do external trips. There should be a main list of activities at reception so that guests are not hounded by random people. Recommendations: - Hotel transfers: the hotel transfers were extremely expensive and not very well communicated. We booked a private transfer in the end however would have preferred the hotel. For example, having an area at the airport where you’re greeted upon arrival and then transferred by the hotel ( Lux Mauritius does it) Staff mentions: Our wonderful trip was made possible by the lovely staff at the resort. Specific mentions to: Selvina, Nuha, Angelie @ coffee store Amazing service - we attended a coffee making class and they looked after me when I was ill during the stay with herbal tea. Thank you! Vegan, Ashwin and Ooatam @ bar area Excellent wine and cocktails and friendly service Bodrum Dhiren and zeeya were very welcoming. Dhiren was wonderful at making sure all the tables were happy. The Lux Grand Gaube is a wonderful hotel with really amazing staff. We had a two week stay there recently and had a fabulous time. We found the location to be very peaceful as its situated in a bay which was great for swimming and water sports. The range of facilities on offer meant that we were never bored. We also found the range of food options very good. The one complaint would be that the Bodrum Blue Restaurant is now not being included in the half board which is a great shame. The evening entertainment was also very good. The real selling point of this hotel is the staff. They all work so hard to ensure guests have a memorable holiday. We had a few small niggles with lack of cutlery at breakfast and towels being left in the pool area so you did not know when chairs were free. Regardless, I would highly recommend this really lovely hotel. Read less
