LUX* Le Morne

Mauritius, Indian Ocean

The hotel

With a stunning sunset location, flanked by UNESCO World Heritage Site Le Morne Peak, this LUX* resort also overlooks an endless stretch of golden beach. Sheltered from trade winds and on the quiet side of the island, it’s an ideal place to catch up on some R&R. Landscaped gardens surround you, dotted with five swimming pools — select your favourite and pull up a lounger. Romantic in feel, the hotel is also ideal for families, with a superb kids' club offering activities such as treasure hunts, art classes and tennis lessons. Water sports abound, try your hand at snorkelling, water-skiing or kite-surfing perhaps. If you prefer dry land, no worries — team up with friends for a game of volleyball or hire a bike to explore the lush interior. Come sundown, the pace picks up slightly. Head to The Bar for cocktails and live music, or while away the hours in East, feasting on delicious Thai cuisine. Set right beside the ocean, The Beach is also highly recommended, serving up Italian fare in a relaxed setting.

We had 2 fabulous weeks in Le Morne in February and returned just before the lockdown, the memory of Le Morne is a fabulous one!. From the time we arrived to the time we left we were impressed, which is difficult as we are particular, and seasoned travellers. We have visited Mauritius twice before but this was by far our best visit. The staff, the rooms,, and the food were all fantastic. There are so many highlights with the staff making our stay just perfect. The bar and beach staff were so lovely Ryan, Bertie and the Beach Manager Vic, who was fantastic, in terms of making our every request effortlessly sorted. A great experience was snokelling for Sea Urchins with Vic, a must, if you get the chance! A glass of bubbles after all the hard work, with a tasting of the urchins! Thank you Vic! We visited East Restaurant where you have to pay a supplement, even if you are on All Inclusive, it was dissappointing and not worth the supp, but Ruddy was so apologetic and so kind, it was not his fault. A lovely guy. Room service is a must for a tiny charge and Preetam, Manager was so helpful.!Great for Lunch, the Kitchen and in particular Prisca really looked after us with Chef Mackenzie. Last our favourite the lovely Kagal who books your reservations in the restaurants, sooooo helpful, sweet and polite, she is young but will go a long way, she is an absolute pleasure. Thank you Kagal. The only negative was the terrible experience we had with the Boat House when booking a dolphin trip. Read less

Great 6 day holiday at LUX Le Morne. This wonderful resort miles away from the bustle of any towns is a perfect place to either relax and recharge you batteries or try out the water sports you have always wanted to have a go at. Safe and luxurious this place has it all, especially if you enjoy snorkelling you can do straight from the beach and see the most wonderful sea-life amongst the coral. All the staff are really great, happy and always willing to go the extra to make your vacation memorable. I was lucky enough to meet one of the guys that work at the resort .... Vik, he goes out snorkelling for sea urchins and then presents them to eat on the beach. I joined him a couple of times going out snorkelling and learnt much about what is under the water not straight from the beach, and hopefully helped a bit collecting the sea urchins - a memorable experience .... thank you Vik. All staff and food at the 3 restaurants absolutely wonderful, we really had a great time. .... thanks to the wonderful team at LUX Le Morne. Read less

Stephanie was there to speak with us every day. She arranged for us to have breakfast on the beach, always checking that we were happy. ( of corse we were) Geraldine was so pleasant in arranging many treats for us, as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, Hemet was the resident photographer, you could arrange a photo shoot, he took photos of us at 🌅 what a v special person, he helped us sort our iPad out, putting pics from camera on to iPad. He had so much patience . He even gave his time to wave goodby to us. We shall always remember the staff at Lux Le morne. Beach & grounds beautiful. Restaurants v good, we enjoyed our food. It is hard to imagine that a better place exists in Mauritius. Extremely comfortable, family friendly and beautiful. Kitesurfing a short (free) mountainbike ride away in the lagoon.
