The hotel

With a stunning sunset location, flanked by UNESCO World Heritage Site Le Morne Peak, this LUX* resort also overlooks an endless stretch of golden beach. Sheltered from trade winds and on the quiet side of the island, it’s an ideal place to catch up on some R&R. Landscaped gardens surround you, dotted with five swimming pools — select your favourite and pull up a lounger. Romantic in feel, the hotel is also ideal for families, with a superb kids' club offering activities such as treasure hunts, art classes and tennis lessons. Water sports abound, try your hand at snorkelling, water-skiing or kite-surfing perhaps. If you prefer dry land, no worries — team up with friends for a game of volleyball or hire a bike to explore the lush interior. Come sundown, the pace picks up slightly. Head to The Bar for cocktails and live music, or while away the hours in East, feasting on delicious Thai cuisine. Set right beside the ocean, The Beach is also highly recommended, serving up Italian fare in a relaxed setting.

Where is it

At the foot of the Le Morne Mountain in the southwest corner of Mauritius. Transfer time from Mauritius International Airport: approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Please note that if taking a seat in coach this may be longer depending on how many hotel stops are en route.

149 rooms and suites, all with air-conditioning, balcony or terrace, flatscreen TV, telephone, complimentary WiFi internet access, mini-bar*, tea/coffee-making facilities, safe, hairdryer, iron and board. Superior Rooms with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 1 child/teen (under 17 years).

All Inclusive option: includes breakfast at The Kitchen, lunch at The Kitchen, The Beach or Oasis (pool bar), and dinner at either The Kitchen or The Beach. For guests on excursions a picnic basket can be provided (request at reception 24 hours in advance). Afternoon tea at The Bar. A selection of local drinks, including soft drinks, tea, coffee, beers, wines, juices, mineral water, cocktails and spirits. Bar service until 12.00am. Mini-bar including water, juices & soft drinks, local beers (replenished once a day). Complimentary coffee served at Maison Lux* and homemade ice creams at ICI counterYoga and stretching classes, access to sauna, steam room, whirlpool and spa garden (subject to availability, adults only). Water-skiing, glass-bottom boat trips, snorkelling, windsurfing, kayaks, pedal boat, small catamaran, mini-sailing, as per weather and tide conditions. Unlimited access to the gym, floodlit tennis courts (rackets and balls provided), table tennis, bocce balls and beach volleyball. Live music. Complimentary WiFi. 

Please note: All Inclusive starts from your arrival time at the resort until your departure from the resort. Meals and drinks to be chosen from applicable All Inclusive menus. The hotel reserves the right to close up to two restaurants throughout the year.

Prestige Junior Suites are on the beachfront and have an outdoor shower, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults, plus 1 infant.

Ocean Junior Suites are perched on the water’s edge, overlooking the lagoon, with 1 king-size bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults and 1 child/teen (under 17 years).

Having travelled on 6 of the 7 continents, experienced 5* star & world class experiences, the world over, this stay was by far the best! Customer service is beyond reproach, and almost everyone is willing to go the extra mile for you. There are particular personal and generous touches that the hotel does, that makes this truly special - such as Prosecco, a night experience etc, but not to ruin any surprises you may have. The beach and the accommodation, well just absolutely beyond beautiful and picturesque. Everything you see, it’s even better when your there. Whilst most hotels , this is a let down, at Lux Le morne - it’s just stunning. What you see is what you get and more! We have stayed previously at Dina robin- also a lovely luxury resort, however we wanted something different and more modern, and our choice was 100%. There are a few people that stand out in ensuring this experience was so good, Jason at reception, Priyanka at reception, Vik, Waiter Alain, and the local manager. We have the best room - ocean facing suite, literally on the beach. We also experienced the room by the pool facing - different but lovely as well on our last day out. Will highly recommend the rooms closest to beach. Viks - personal lunch with him, absolutely blown away with the food! He deserves his own full time restaurant! The cuisine, company and efforts were great! Thank you the best food for the stay! Jason - helped organise quite a few of these things for us, thank you. Priyanka - a great front manager - for your efforts! You have to experience this hotel for yourself, it doesn’t disappoint! We took the all inclusive. The in room bar - it’s world class, and not just a mini bar. The staff are ever eager to refill it and the clean the rooms regularly - thank you. Also for the full I. Room service - when having a little toddler - it’s tough to make the restaurants every morning- really well done thank you. The people are kind and friendly and really try their best! A few minor let downs: 1. The Asian restaurant- having been in Thailand, Japan and china a few times and enjoyed the cuisine, this was a huge let down. I did speak to the chef thereafter, everything from starter to dessert was bad, felt so unauthentic and just tasteless. Was disappointed beyond, luckily Viks 2 days later made up for this! 2. Kids club- it’s still due to undergo a renovation, but it’s in dire need of it. The kids club doesn’t fit in with the luxury with the rest of the resort. Having a busy 3 year old, she looked forward to this, but was also disappointed. The ladies were not very nice to us, and did not engage my daughter. There was only one other toddler at the time, with 2 babies. About 5 ladies to help. She washed why they not speaking to her, I had to ask them to speak to her in English. I raised this with the manager, Annabelle the next day, ( we didn’t return for the activities, as my daughter was very sad), she immediately tried to remedy this, being present and engaging. The ladies followed suit, and a seer young girl Karishma - thereafter played with my daughter and took care of the activities with her. The Easter egg hunt was lovely for all the kids, and was a hit by all! Thank you for that, it was truly special. I hope these are all taken as improvement points and addressed, as we would love to return once the kids facility is upgraded. There were a fe tiger minor hiccups that were attended to and management dealt with. New safer high chairs for kids also needed. The food spread is amazing and even the buffet is still fresh and served in a made to order basis which I loved. The ice cream- a hit! Other desserts - improvement needed Choice of fruits - improvement needed, as buffet offered less than what I would get when ordering a fruit platter. Staff at the pool bar - need some service attitude adjustment. We were the only non-European people there, and the staff here messed up a few times in terms of servicing us. Entertainment - needs improvement / beautiful evenings with live singing for most nights ( but only for 2 hours), perhaps a games night, and dancing etc. but I was also happy not to have a club scene at this resort, an in between one to keep couples and families entertained at night ? Overall, the best experience. It’s worthit, and the service is amazing. It’s something special to experience ! We absolutely loved it, and would highly recommend it! I cannot wait to go back! We were all inclusive and i would definitely recommend it. Sitting on the beach and press a button, waiter arrives and delivers drinks. We went on dolphin trip which is one of those experiences you have to do, swimming with wild dolphins, amazing. Make sure you take a water camera! We had cocktail nights on beach, drinks and canapes in tree house, breakfast on beach.
