Radisson Blu Azuri Resort & Spa

Mauritius, Indian Ocean

The hotel

Anyone can stay on a beach in Mauritius — but the prime location of Radisson Blu Azuri Resort & Spa will make your stay that extra bit special. Set on a sweep of lagoon-washed sand, the resort is also framed by preserved mangroves. In the marine village of Azuri, you get to immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan village life and experience the beach and island activities all rolled into one. Passionate about design and attention to detail, the resort offers contemporary interiors, such as an inviting lobby with iconic shell chandeliers, oversized headboards in spacious guest rooms and many more. Guests always stay connected with complimentary WIFI throughout the hotel, including the beach. Of course some things reflect the ‘pure beach retreat’, like your balcony or terrace; the ocean and infinity pool option among its four restaurants and bars; and the al fresco activities like water sports, sunrise beach yoga, and mangrove kayak safaris. Guests have also access to activities and restaurants (with credit) at the adults-only sister hotel Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette Resort & Spa with the 'Blu Passport' — a unique offering to enhance your holiday.

I stayed here for a week under the all inclusive part, travelling under Tui holidays package. This resort is ok, its not great but its not bad. The good: The buffet is great, the staff in the bar and buffet are amazing and very tentative. I can not fault them at all. One evening it was a fish night and I do not eat fish so they cooked chicken and steak for me. The resort itself has a power boat that goes to a coral spot about 5 minutes out to sea, the clarity of the water is amazing but dont expect to see many fish or any coral. Its volcanic rock and any coral is dead. The not so bad / great Considering this hotel has been open since June to locals i am surprised by lack of refinement. - pool grouting could have been cleaned - pool showers do not work - pool windows look like they havebt been cleaned in a while - larger sun beds overlooking the ocean are not being used and over grown in trees, its also concrete floo with some sand which mostly shows the concrete now. - seems impossible to gets towels unless you use the ones from your rooms. The staff don't actively come to the beach for drinks, you have to go to them (lazy i know) The beach has loads of rocks in it as you walk into the sea, I saw a few people trip up so be careful. The bad The all inclusive menu (not the food at the buffet) but at the bar is very very very limited, most British people i spoke to there were really disappointed by the need to pay for most things, there is an additional charge for most drinks. Id say the all inclusive is more full board. The free part includes one wine, 3 cocktails, 3 local beers where bottles in the fridge ran out by lunchtime everyday because they gave out 6 of each (they have draft of one of them). One gin, one vodka, and some soft drinks ..it really is the worst all inclusive bar menu I have seen. I would expect to pay for premium but the menu is designed in such a way that most drinks require a spirit or something for an extra charge. There are 4 resturantes (cafe, black rock - steak, ocean and the buffet) and 2 bars (beach and pool). while I was there the ocean restaurant was closed, the cafe which was meant to be included is no longer included and the beach bar is closed. There are also no pool snacks other than tea at 1600. The black rock all inclusive menu is very limited, you cab order from a main menu but the rate was so low you could just get a burger. There is also construction work at the spa. If you go for a sea view room, only one room can just about see the sea so other than the small plunge pool outside your room, it's not worth it. The hotel offered to move us ..to another room with no sea view. Overall The staff are great, the hotel lacks refinement and the all inclusive is absolutely rubbish. I definitely wont be going back. We came to Azuri for our honeymoon and were one of the first couples from the UK to check in since the pandemic. We were greeted by Alyshia who understood we were exhausted after our 24 travel so kept our check in quick and to the point, she remained helpful throughout our stay with any queries we had. We booked a plunge pool room, we had hoped for more of a view but it was out onto the gardens. The room itself was very large which meant we had a place to go through some of the rain storms in early October. The housekeeping staff kept the room very clean and did extra touches for us with it being our honeymoon regularly through our stay which was lovely. As it was our honeymoon, there were a few more children then we would have liked as we left our children at home for a break, we would 100% come back with our kids as it is a great experience for them and for other couples this wasn’t an issue. The main restaurant food was very good for a buffet. I am super fussy with food, for an all inclusive it is honestly the best I have been to with the options you have. They cooked food fresh and topped up regularly meaning it was very fresh. Due to Covid they were serving food versus people helping themselves which made it much more hygienic. Thanks to Cussons, Selven and Nishi for your great service. Blackrock if on all inclusive gives you an allowance or a 3 course menu option. Our favourites were the South African steak. A huge thank you to Pravesh who looked after us throughout the stay. All in all as a resort, we couldn’t have asked for friendlier staff. We were lucky to stay in 3 hotels in Mauritius and the staff / restaurant made this hotel for us an amazing experience. A huge thank you to Nitish the concierge who helped us plan trips away and truly went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Read less
