Radisson Blu Azuri Resort & Spa

Mauritius, Indian Ocean

The hotel

Anyone can stay on a beach in Mauritius — but the prime location of Radisson Blu Azuri Resort & Spa will make your stay that extra bit special. Set on a sweep of lagoon-washed sand, the resort is also framed by preserved mangroves. In the marine village of Azuri, you get to immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan village life and experience the beach and island activities all rolled into one. Passionate about design and attention to detail, the resort offers contemporary interiors, such as an inviting lobby with iconic shell chandeliers, oversized headboards in spacious guest rooms and many more. Guests always stay connected with complimentary WIFI throughout the hotel, including the beach. Of course some things reflect the ‘pure beach retreat’, like your balcony or terrace; the ocean and infinity pool option among its four restaurants and bars; and the al fresco activities like water sports, sunrise beach yoga, and mangrove kayak safaris. Guests have also access to activities and restaurants (with credit) at the adults-only sister hotel Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette Resort & Spa with the 'Blu Passport' — a unique offering to enhance your holiday.

We were at Radisson Blue Azuri with family during the weekend 26,27 and 28 Dec.... we were 17 persons altogether. The customer service was really poor, as well as bad quality room and hotel amenities. Some of us got our rooms at 4 pm or after, since they were not ready. The rooms were not properly cleaned, and a few didnt have 2 beds as requested , where there were kids. The mini bar was empty, in spite of an all inclusive package, and we had 2 bath towels only for 4 persons in a room. There were no spoons for tea or coffee making. No hair dryer as well. One of the back doors were open, and the luggage person delayed in dropping the luggage, and left one of the baby matresses outside another room. The kettle in one of the rooms was not working. The staff were quite rude too. At the main restaurant, Le Comptoir, and the bar. We had to wait for 20 to 30 mins at the bar each time for a drink, and the attitude was not so friendly as well. Each time we needed something at the restaurant, we had to go ask ourselves instead of a waiter coming to check. At some point the buffet was left with few things only and we were told that there would not be refill, when we had not yet eaten. Same for snacks at tea time...we got leftovers. Toilets were unclean at the main restaurant. Disappointed overall with stay since this was our xmas family celebration. Feedback was communicated by email promptly after stay, but no response received, not even an acknowledgement. Read less

I was with my family for Christmas 2020 [ 24 December to 26 December 2020] and had 3 rooms with one with the plunge pool [1909]. 1. Arrival Arrival was terrible. The concierge without asking my name called me with another name. It seems that that were expecting another client at that time. The guys at the luggage drop bay was very rude and unwelcoming. 2. Checkin Check in was perfect with no issue. 3. Room transfer We had 3 rooms. On reservation, we mentioned that in 1 room there will be an old aged persons and had requested for a room near to the main restaurant. Luggage was not tagged properly and just imagine the mess when we had to call the concierge to put luggage in the proper room. We had to exchange room on our own just to let the old aged couple a room closer the main restaurant. The plunge pool was not properly cleaned with hairs floating. We had to called the reception 3 times and various occasions for finally to arrange for someone to clean the plunge pool. After that, the plunge pool was cleaned on a daily basis. Bar The staff at the main bar was very friendly and they was the one who made us forget our bad experience on check in. Food Food was okay, i would rate it 1.5 out of 5. I must say that it was wrongly planned. One client even complained about the absence of a children's corner. On 24th to 26th December, most of the clients were accompanied by children. While asking the chef why they have not catered for a children station for food, his reply was that they normally have one, but they had the impression that Mauritians do not like to have children station. The irony of this is that , the Chef is a Mauritian and until the air access is not opened, most of the clients will be Mauritians. Dinner I had the impression that the hotel has called for only 50% of its waiters. The waiters on dinner time are doing their best to keep the client happy, but there was 2 waiters for 50 clients. At a point, the supervisor of the waiter asked me to wait as he is looking at another client. This give me the impression that I was not a client!!! This hotel has a lot to learn on the hospitality of the Heritage Group. I think that the management do not care and they are getting government wage assistance but doing saving on operation cost like putting for people to work when it is normally a peak season. The a la carte restaurant are very good and the staff are very well trained. Overall rating - 2.5 out of 5. 2.5 is for the Bar guys and the SPA. I will avoid Radisson Blu next time Read less

The stay at Radisson Blu was just the perfect getaway. A 1 day trip felt like it was not enough. The pool, sea activities, food and drinks were just awesome. We had the best time of relaxation and fun.
