The hotel

Anyone can stay on a beach in Mauritius — but the prime location of Radisson Blu Azuri Resort & Spa will make your stay that extra bit special. Set on a sweep of lagoon-washed sand, the resort is also framed by preserved mangroves. In the marine village of Azuri, you get to immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan village life and experience the beach and island activities all rolled into one. Passionate about design and attention to detail, the resort offers contemporary interiors, such as an inviting lobby with iconic shell chandeliers, oversized headboards in spacious guest rooms and many more. Guests always stay connected with complimentary WIFI throughout the hotel, including the beach. Of course some things reflect the ‘pure beach retreat’, like your balcony or terrace; the ocean and infinity pool option among its four restaurants and bars; and the al fresco activities like water sports, sunrise beach yoga, and mangrove kayak safaris. Guests have also access to activities and restaurants (with credit) at the adults-only sister hotel Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette Resort & Spa with the 'Blu Passport Concept' — a unique offering full hotel interchangeability with complimentary inter hotel transfer to enhance your holiday.

We especially enjoyed the activities around the hotel like kayak to the close and isolated island or diving into the blue which means getting on a boat further out on the sea to swim and snorkle. The staff was extremely friendly and always willing to help. For example with the food of the buffet where I was not sure what I can eat because of my Allergy. They were so kind and helpful in that situation The rooms were super clean and huge. We really enjoyed the en suit bathroom which could be opened entirely to the room Overall an amazing stay and we would always come back. Read less

Don't be put off by negative comments. Traffic noise sometimes can't be helped and the weddings themselves brought a splash of unforgettable local colour to our stay, which was between 8th and 18th November. In fact this is a wonderful hotel, staffed by some excellent, thoroughly professional people. We only met manager Vinay towards the end of our stay, but we were impressed with his thoroughness, enthusiasm and positive approach. We really felt he had a mission to ensure we enjoyed our holiday. The wonderfully effervescent and efficient Pinky and her team in reception were a delight. Pinky appeared at our table every morning at breakfast to be sure everything was all right for us, and we felt a warm rapport with her. The hotel itself is spotlessly kept. A team of gardeners toils ceaselessly in the gardens and flower beds, even in the rain. The domestic staff are tireless and constantly cheerful. Our room (oh, our room!) was cool and airy, spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view out over the lagoon with breaking waves and emerald water in the near distance, and swaying palm trees in the hotel gardens. A mega sized bed, double washbasins, a bath big enough for two and a similar-sized shower provided a level of luxury to which we swiftly became accustomed. Towelling dressing gowns and flip-flops. Fresh towels provided every day, the room gleaming clean when we came back to it, and our bed made up and turned down. Our balcony was furnished with a big day-bed, a rattan table and two chairs. Sundowners in paradise! Cheeky crested bulbuls and little bright red finches flitted around the thatched roof and rafters. Now, the food. We could have eaten in the Black Rock restaurant or at Nine (the golf club) and had our meal subsidised by the hotel as part of our all-inclusive arrangement. As it turned out, we never felt the need, as the food in the main restaurant, Le Comptoir, was delicious, varied and beautifully presented, with a truly international flavour with themed Mauritian, Italian and Mediterranean evenings. Beef, chicken and fish were fresh grilled. Always a wide choice of vegetables, rice and curries. Huge variety of salads. Beautifully presented desserts and an endless supply of fresh fruit, mango, pineapple, mandarin, banana. Breakfasts were equally varied, with fruit juice, omelettes cooked to your liking, traditional bacon and beans, slim meaty sausages, fried potato, cooked meats and cheeses, fresh bread, croissants, danish pastries, yoghurt and of course, fresh fruit. Add a fresh-brewed pot of coffee and there really was nothing to complain about! In the evenings, there were usually different bands playing on Le Comptoir's verandah. They varied a little in quality, but on two Thursday evenings there was a troupe of African dancers who gave a rousing and colourful display of drumming, music and dance, and invited us all to join in. Brilliant! On other nights we were entertained by a very good five piece band with an excellent girl singer who got people up and dancing too. The bar and serving staff are efficient and attentive, sometimes refreshing your drink before you even ask! They like a name-check, so thank you Shahl, Vishal, Tyson, Tasvi, Henna, Geraldin and Bhorna - you're a great team! One really nice feature - we had chosen to come to Mauritius to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The hotel laid on a meal for us at Nine, organising our transport there and back, and at the end of a lovely meal, the staff brought us out a beautiful cake complete with candle, and played 'Congratulations' and applauded. As if that wasn't enough, when we returned to our room , the domestic staff had decorated our room with palm-leaves spelling Happy Anniversary on our bed and twisted towels into the shape of two swans kissing. A lovely romantic touch! Putting it all together, we couldn't fault the hotel or the staff, and we give Radisson Blu Azuri our thorough recommendation. We had a marvellous holiday there, and would love to come back. Read less

We spent a lot of time around the pool and bar area all the staff were amazing especially Josh. Our room was lovely! And our house keeper Kavita did an amazing job at cleaning our room and making sure we had everything we needed, she was absolutely amazing. It was my birthday whilst we were there and Vinay helped my husband arrange an amazing surprise. The food at the restaurant was great, there was a different buffet every evening and a good variety of food. Special thank you to Vinod for making sure we were fed well haha. Read less

My wife and I arrived at the hotel on the 6th of November at about 7-7.30pm. The staff were amazing. We cannot praise the staff enough. Especially the waiters Chavi and Dev. Very hard working indeed. But what we found disappointing about the place was. While we were there. Lorries running up and down the beach during the day either going to assemble marquees for weddings or disassembling them afterwards. Also building work being carried out during the day to buildings. Drilling and sawing etc. Also the pool areas are in need of grab handles for getting in and out of the pool. There was little or no night entertainment. One Saturday night there was an Indian wedding at one end of the complex with music blasting away. And a disco banging out a couple of hundred of yards away at the other end. We went away for a very relaxing 40th Wedding anniversary peaceful two weeks away. Food and drink and staff faultless. A fairly enjoyable two weeks away. But could have been a lot better given the building work & Lorrie’s going up and down. Read less
