Where to start....what an AMAZING hotel. Diane, wow! Thank you so much. We stayed at this Hotel from 3rd May 2024 for 2 weeks. We cannot recommend it enough. Our experience started with Diane, the manager, and let me tell you, this lady leads by example. She made our holiday the best of the best. Diane's friendliness and kindness, professionalism and sense of humour filters down to every single member of staff. It is almost impossible to single out individuals who stood out, but a few special thanks to Vimla, our cleaner, Avenash and a huge shout out to Descent (may be incorrect spelling) who gave impeccable service and made us feel like royalty. About the resort..... the rooms were fantastic, spotlessly clean and spacious. The restaurant service was impeccable and the food was fantastic. The swimming pool was lush, there were always sunbeds available around the pool or on the beach and we had our own swimming area in the sea where the snorkelling was out of this world. The staff go out of their way to please and make your holiday special. Unlike other destinations tips, although appreciated, were not required for better service. A little bit about Mauritius and the people.... Mauritius is a tropical island, so when holidaying here please remember it will not be 40 degrees and blinding sunshine from sun up to sun down. It is very green and so it can rain in short bursts however, even when it is overcast and windy, you will still come back with a glorious tan! And the Mauritian people..... WOW. At no pont did we feel unsafe on the island. With every person we met, from taxi driver to people on the street, every one was unbelievably friendly. Quoting a few of them, "Mauritius is your holiday of a lifetime and we will make it so from start to finish". Thank you Mauritius..... Read less

We stayed as a couple, with an ocean view room with all inclusive package for 7 days Food • The buffet breakfast was repeated every day, however, there was a selection for everyone [selection of breads, croissants, banana bread ( delicious) and about two types of pastries, fruits, eggs, veg curry, potatoes samosa, waffles (very hard and crispy though), crepes, bacon, cheeses, and yogurt. There were also gluten-free chocolate brownies and biscuits]. • Lunch had two options, the buffet lunch or ala carte ( this did not require a booking in advance). Buffet lunch was limited as there were few guests coming through for lunch. There usually was an option of fish, or chicken. A selection of salads, breads, and desserts. Ala carte carte lunch included chicken, vegan burgers, pizza, selection of salads. I enjoyed the paneer and kofta curry. • There were two options for supper: buffet and ala carte • The buffet supper had a theme every night. The Indian and Mexican nights had delicious food with a wide variety. The other theme nights, I did not enjoy but there were chicken, meat and fish options. I preferred the al carte menu, there was a vegetarian option as well. For dinner al carte, a booking is required at the restaurant. • The food was adequate as there was one of each option but it was not as extensive as other resorts. Entertainment • There is evening entertainment a duo or trio singers. The singing is low key, but it is better than nothing. The Friday evening was more entertaining, there were dancers, and they got the crowd involved in the dancing. • At the resort there is a pool table at the lounge and darts next to the bar. • Shuttle bus to the sister hotel Raddison Blue Azuri • We took the shuttle bus to the sister hotel, which was under 30-minute drive there. This is a family resort as opposed to an adult resort. The sister hotel beach is a public beach at this resort. The beach sand feels like construction sand brought to the resort. The beach also feels like a lagoon, the water is cloudy and muddy colour. We were glad we did not book this resort as we would have been extremely disappointed with the ocean. Please do research the sister hotel Raddison Blue Azuri carefully or consider another option. Improvements suggestions for the resort • Consider leaving additional knives and forks next to the plates in the buffet, these are not replaced when finished with a meal and result in guests often taking cutlery from other tables • Please explain to guests the difference between the self-service coffee machines and the coffee that we can order from the bar. During breakfast, some guests were told they must use the self-service coffee machines whilst others would receive the lattes for example from the bar coffee machines which was better tasting. I was not the only one confused, many guests started asking why they couldn’t receive their lattes from the bar coffee station instead they had to get their own coffee from a smaller machine. • Staff shout out: Yanish served us at the buffet. He treated every guest equally well. He immediately attended to guests and inquired what we would like to drink. He efficiently cleared the tables without asking to. His overall demeanor was pleasant and friendly. Girish was efficient and pleasant when serving us. Deesaunt was situated at the bar. He was friendly and lively from the morning to the evening. It made asking for drinks a pleasant experience. Tips for guests • If you book directly with Radisson Blu you qualify for rewards points that you can redeem for a possible one-day free stay. However, if you book with a travel agency the rewards will not apply. • There is definitely discrimination by some waiters towards non-European guests. To avoid this, we changed our table or section where we were seated at the buffet. This helped us as there were other waiters willing to assist. The result of not moving would mean your plates would remain on the table, often stacking up. You would receive incorrect information of times of pizzas being made available at the al carte, not being served drinks, and often generally being ignored whilst the other European guests where consistently checked on. We experienced this during the buffet and lunch at the ala carte and did not want this to ruin our holiday so moving tables is encouraged. • We stayed at room 3202, which had a clear view of the ocean. You should enquire prior to booking as some rooms I noticed had partial views. • We were on the AI package, the mini bar on two occasions was not refilled. Please do let reception know or this continues to happen. • If you are vegetarian, let the chef know about your requirements or there will be very little to no options available. • Apart from the aqua aerobics, the activities’ location seems to be poorly communicated. As a result, very few people attended. If you would like to do any of the morning activities, stretching, medication, etc. let reception know about your interest in the morning of the activity. There will be no one at the beach conducting the activity unless you ask . Staff take you on Sunday via the local bus to the market and on your own on Wednesday). On your way back it is bus 26 (I think) you can ask at reception). The food is very affordable at the market, Saris between 500 to 800 rupees, Punjabi 1000 rupees. However the price of items does increase when they notice that you are not a local Overall I loved the beach, this was the biggest draw card and I had a pleasant stay. Read less

We stayed in this hotel from the 17th April to the 26th April, after a long trip taking 19 hours we were welcomed by Diana who was amazing , she had planned in advance a birthday meal for my wife and also a surprise of some flowers on our 30th wedding anv all without my wife finding out. She worked very hard to ensure we were happy with our stay, checking in with us thru our stay at the hotel. The room number 10001 was situated next to the bar area and room opened out to the garden and onto the beach , less than 30ft so great. However couple of things you need to be aware of , the entertainment is quite loud if your in this room but thankfully any entertainment finishes at 10.30pm , the room is a little on the small side with not a lot of of hanging space for your clothing for 10 days, that being said the rooms were cleaned every day and towels and bed linen. All of the staff were great, all willing to go the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our stay. WIFI is a little patchy and the TV channels were off more than on , if you were looking for something to watch on the TV there is not a lot of choice. I would recommend this hotel to stay at for a special occasion as it was for us, however due to the traveling time for us I doubt we will be visiting Mauritius again anytime soon FYI I am 64 and my wife is 58 and it took us 2 days to get over the travelling but happy we chose Mauritius and the Radisson Blu Poste Lafayette as our hotel, well done to all of the team and thank you for all of of the memories.
