What a hotel! As this was our honeymoon, my husband did loads of research to find the best possible place and because of the glowing reviews we picked Salt of Palmar. It did not disappoint!
From the moment we arrived the staff have been attentive, kind and friendly, always ensuring we are having the best possible stay and are catered to in every way. Med, Vish, Rishi, Dervin and everyone else - thank you so much for making our stay so special. It’s really 11/10 customer service.
Because it was our honeymoon we got some wonderful special add-ons: a romantic dinner that was incredible, discounted spa treatments, a cake decorating workshop and a free mixology workshop. They decorated our room beautifully too, and it boasted unbelievable views of the Indian Ocean.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, so comfortable it’s some of the best nights sleep I’ve had in years! The decor, while not the typical “Instagram” style is, in my opinion, is way better than the white washed vibe of other places. The Moroccan architecture and geometric patterns makes for a really interesting and eye catching hotel. The boutique wellness feel was a huge bonus for us: there is free yoga on the beach everyday, delicious healthy breakfasts and relaxing spa options.
Now, for the food. We did half board and I’m so happy we did. Every morning there is freshly baked pastries, breads and cakes, a selection of made-to-order breakfasts that are full of brunch favourites like avocado on toast, as well as smoothies, coffees, kombucha, the works! We had an incredible barbecue lunch they put on once a week that was insanely good. Every dinner time is like a taste explosion! No buffet style lukewarm food here, just freshly cooked magic. The specials were the most impressive in my opinion, and you are spoilt for options. I couldn’t recommend this hotel for the food more.
Location-wise, the East coast is great for weather as any showers pass over quickly, and mostly it’s bright sunshine with some sea breeze. It’s an hour to get to the North to do some exploring (which was very easy in a hire car for us, especially as they drive on the left of the road), and an hour and a half/two hours to get to Le Morne and the South. The best thing is that Il Aux Cerf (for us the most amazing trip we did) is only 10-15 mins away, and a short boat trip. The East is tranquil and lovely, and we have heard mixed reviews about other areas.
There are plentiful activities to do while you are here - we did 10 days and could have easily stayed two weeks! It’s really been the most glorious honeymoon we could have wished for and that’s all because of this hotel. A hidden gem that is likely to become much less hidden in years to come - to our dismay! If you pick to stay here you won’t regret it.

It is always wonderful to return home and meet the family again (Salt family) to celebrate my wife’s special day. From the first minute we stepped into this fabulous resort to the last second, we were looked after like family members and were given all the love care through the amazing and delicious food and wonderful treatment. From the gate post through the front office staffs, the cuisine staffs, waiters and spa therapists we were amazed by the unique dedicated touch that were given by the whole crew.
The food as always was top class and as per request...Big thanks to Chef Shiva and team for preparing our favorite dishes and special mention to the pastry team and mainly for preparing the birthday cake as requested.

We came to SALT to experience luxury for our 30th Wedding anniversary. The hotel staff with the exception of one are amazing. They were friendly and knowledgeable nothing was too much trouble.
And the food was amazing, the chef is very talented.
The location is breathing taking and water crystal clear.
Perfection!
