We came to relax and chill nov / dec for 12 nights and this hotel exceeded our expectations As so many people have mentioned the staff are very welcoming / friendly and helpful The food is excellent , but be sure to check the daily specials at each meal sitting , which is displayed on a board by the communal table by the bakery If by any chance you are after something , simply speak to the staff they will try and do what they can to accommodate We arranged a celebration meal on the beach which didn’t disappoint , thank you Med , Sanjay and Viana for looking after us. The other guests were lovely to speak to , and we met some lovely people. I think the hotel atmosphere encourages people to be friendly and chat We did a couple of the courses , food regrow , thank you shiva for very informative and fun time, and the cocktails with , Ved … a master of the art Apologies to who we miss but a big thank you to Sanjay, Blessing, Piryanka and Ved( the best old fashioned cocktails) Viana, vinesh , Rewa, Lois , Med the manager , you are wonderful hosts , thank you Tips U.K. travelers , U.K. electrical sockets which also double as European are available in the rooms and around the site , so no need for plug adapters. Lots of usb charge points around the bar The all inclusive ,if you like a drink , a bottle or two with dinner, is a must If you want a mini fridge they will bring one to the room But the bar will put your room number on any unfinished bottle and keep it for you . If you lose your reading glasses there is a selection of magnifiers at the bar . Wireless chargers located in a few locations , library bar Suggestion , We have visited other hotels where all inclusive guests were given a allowance off items which are not included in the AI, we think if you did this more people would explore the wide range of the excellent offerings The bar lists need updated to be clear what is available on the AI and if the roof top bar is shut , it should be possible to get the same cocktails downstairs A great holiday , many happy memories We would love to come back one day Thank you Tom & Pam Read less

Well, we had the best time here. If you like small boutique, quirky hotels that have fantastic local and friendly values - Salt of Palmar ticks every box. Beach is fantastic, so is the pool. By the pool there are lovely touches like reading glasses, fresh aloe Vera, sunglasses cleaner and fresh still or sparkling water on tap where you can add herbs or lemon. We had a Best on the Beach room with a view we will never forget. We went all inclusive which suited us brilliantly. Lovely in room coffee facilities, homemade crisps and coconut chips. Lovely towels and great shower products. And the best bed. Food is delicious and you don't have to reserve a table for any meal. Gorgeous menu...... a must is the fish/seafood platter - cooked by the amazing Giji. The breakfasts are glorious, huge thanks to Priyanka who has the best smile and is kind and thoughtful. Supper with Rajiv, Blessing and Sanjay looking after you suggesting different options is really nice - especially as we didn't always want spicy food. A must, is to download the Salt app as it lists all the activities you can do everyday - I loved the homemade bath bomb classes with the amazing Anjou from the spa (great massages too) and cocktail making (Art of Mixology) with the amazing Ved. There is a variety of excursions and in-house sessions to choose from, if that’s your bag. We've come home inspired after the great session with the great head chef, Shiva helping us to rethink how we do food scrap regrowth now we're home in the UK..... Ok the bar, the guys here are just stars, Ved the magician with trying new cocktails, Fayaaz, and Bhaashiv - the team are great, sorry if we've missed names - but you're all the best. In summary, a great holiday - would we come back? Yes we would, the management team really support their team to deliver the best service. Rishi, the front of house manager, was incredibly attentive and made sure he followed up with any issues or thoughts. He always had time for us and the guests, and made us feel part of the “SALT” family. Thank you, Salt of Palmar Steve and Anita Henson Read less

We have just returned home from a 10 day stay at Salt of Palmar and loved every minute of it! It’s a small, intimate adults only boutique hotel on the north eastern coast of Mauritius. Although the hotel only has one restaurant, what a restaurant it is! The food is spectacular, and beyond 5- star quality. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are A La Carte and all the ingredients are fresh. The smells from the bakery as we entered the restaurant every morning for breakfast were heavenly. We stayed on a HB basis and would recommend this as an absolute minimum. While the menu is not extensive, there are different specials on offer every day which adds variety to the selection, as well as numerous vegan options. The portions are generous and beautifully presented. In addition, the kitchen is very accommodating and will cater to any requests or dietary requirements. On one of the mornings we had a very early start due to an excursion, therefore missing breakfast, and the hotel prepared us a very plentiful breakfast to go - just make sure you request this in advance. We were able to sample most of the menu and a lot of the specials during our stay without having to repeat many dishes (although everything is so nice, you will definitely want to!). The service is fantastic and the restaurant and kitchen staff are friendly and always happy to assist. Being a small hotel, the service has a very personal touch. On a number of occasions we had the pleasure of speaking to the sous chef, who came round to our table to ask if everything was to our liking. A special mention in particular has to go to Sanjay, who went above and beyond to make our dining experience extremely special and memorable throughout our stay - we are extremely grateful to you. The hotel pool area is not large, therefore I recommend grabbing a sun bed early. We tend to gravitate more towards the beach, and so this was not really an issue for us. The beach is incredible, the powdery white sands and clear turquoise waters make it as close to paradise as you can get. It can be a bit windy during this time of year if the prevailing winds are blowing from the south east, but it is still pleasant due to the heat and we noticed that when one side of the beach was windy, the other was not and was more sheltered from any wind. There are also plenty of complementary water activities on offer such as kayaking, SUP, pedalos, glass bottom boat ride and snorkelling, which we thought was really good. The staff at the boathouse are extremely welcoming and ready to assist in any water activity you may wish to do. We tried most of them and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. In the event of a late check out, you can still continue to make use of the hotel pool and beach. Just make sure to inform reception so they can store your luggage and book you a slot to make use of the Get Ready Room which has shower facilities. We loved our stay in Mauritius and would not hesitate to return to this hotel. We definitely hope to be back again! From Dyron and Janeve (room 215) P.S We will miss the Danish of the day at breakfast every morning! 🤤😥 Read less

Salt of Palmer - a true taste of paradise. We had the pleasure of staying 7 nights at the hotel and we’ve loved every minute of it. The food and beverage included in the all-inclusive deal is well worth it. The staff is kind and greets you with the most sincere gesture everyday. A 5 star review for a 5 star experience - thank you.
