The hotel

As the Mauritian drinks cart rolls up to serve you cooling cocktails, while you sink your feet into the white sands of Belle Mare beach after a dip in its turquoise lagoon, you’ll know you’ve arrived in paradise. In fact, it’s so jaw-droppingly gorgeous here, they’ve now reserved Sunrise Attitude exclusively for grownups. As much as you could spend every waking moment on the beach, there’s plenty more fun in store – whether you want to linger at the seaside with snorkelling and scuba diving on offer, or you prefer swimming in one of the two swimming pools instead. However, it’s the authentic touches that really make this Adults Only retreat unforgettable, from the island-inspired treatments at Spa Poz to once-in-a-lifetime cultural Otentik experiences like dining with islanders in their homes, and learning to make Mauritian curries with their local chef.

Where is it

At Belle Mare, on the eastern coast of Mauritius, just 50 metres across the road from the beach. Transfer time from Mauritius International Airport: Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Please note that if taking a seat in coach this may be longer depending on how many hotel stops are en route.

Hotel information

153 rooms and villas. All rooms have air-conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi access, telephone, mini bar*, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, and hairdryer. Couple Rooms are located on the ground or first floor with a furnished terrace or balcony and 1 double bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

All Inclusive option includes: Breakfast at The Market. Lunch at The Social House, The Market, Taba-J, or Papaya, Dinner at The Social House, The Market, or Kot Nou. A selection of local beverages including water, beer, tea, coffee, soft drinks, house wine, and locally manufactured alcohols and spirits. A selection of drinks and snacks at The Bulk Shop corner in Laboutik from 8:00am-11:00pm. Afternoon tea from 4:00-5:00pm (self service: pastries at Taba-J and local goodies near the main pool). Local snacks served with evening drinks. Picnic baskets for guests going out on daytime excursions. Optional breakfast, lunch and dinner in one of the other Attitude hotels (this offer is applicable to a selection of restaurants upon availability, 48h prior booking. Transfer not included). 20% discount on the first massage for bookings between 9:00am-2:00pm (minimum 5 night stay required). All activities unless otherwise stated. 

Couple Partial Sea View Rooms are located on the first and second floors with balcony and 1 double bed (twin beds on request), sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Couple Swim Up Rooms are located on the ground floor and have direct access to a dedicated lap pool from a terrace, featuring 1 double bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults.

Villas have a garden including a yard and private pool, and 1 double bed, sleeping maximum 2 adults

Social House Restaurant and Bar (International and local cuisine, open for lunch and dinner, with tapas style menu in the evening and regular live music). The Market (buffet restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with live cooking stations and international cuisine). Kot Nou (signature restaurant serving Mauritian cuisine, open for dinner 6 days a week upon reservation). Taba-J (street food beach hut serving local cuisine). Papaya (main pool bar, open for drinks throughout the day and light bites at lunch). Bar 31. Teabaz (tea bar). Beach service available. 

Evening entertainment includes live shows (daily) and a DJ (4 times a week).

The villa was INSANE, we had such an amazing time, clean, tidy, spacious and the villa pool is so nice and luxurious to have to ourselves. The food is fab, good and varied choice, all of which was good quality. The meat was all excellent quality, especially the beef. Tried the 3 restaurants, great variations, beautiful settings and extremely attentive staff. The staff are fab, treated like royalty from the minute we arrived. Arrived to cold towels / drinks and they wouldn’t let us lift a finger, such genuinely helpful people. Cannot fault any aspect of the hotel, we’ve had a fabulous time, would happily return next week if we could! Will recommend to anyone and everyone, a special place to us now, as we got engaged here! tips - book the five island tour, upgrade to a villa (email the hotel and see what they have available for your trip - this made our holiday)! & book via emirateholidays for the best service from airport UK to hotel here. 10/10 in every way. My first impression was while arriving at the hotel the waiters were great, good welcoming. At the bar the guys were very smily, helpful, etc... We fell in love with this hotel when we came here in 2022 and got engaged. Right away we knew we wanted our wedding to be here. My husband is Mauritian and we had a very specific wedding in mind for our special day and Sunrise (through the incredible leadership from Sunny) made it exceed our expectations. We have seen how this hotel has really come into its own over the past 18 months and the staff all add to the wonderful family feel that you get throughout the hotel. The food, drinks and entertainment has only got better over the last year and we enjoyed every night of our 2 week stay. Our wedding was simply perfect and that was no easy feat. We had 35 guests staying in our party from London and another 30 Mauritian guests. However the day (and whole holiday) was flawless from start to finish. Reena, Sunny, Marie, Daniel, DJ Nina and many others I cannot fit in this review - we cannot thank you enough for our dream wedding! We will see you all soon! If you want a dreamy beach destination wedding, look no further than Sunrise Attitude. We felt that we got a lot more attention and personal touches with Sunrise that we wouldn't have with the bigger hotels.l and we stand by our decision to put our entire trust in the Sunrise Attitude team.
