The Ocean is quiet and right after the West (Flic en Flaq) the perfect choice for snorkeling & beach promenades. The hotel offers complimentary tennis, table tennis, gym, Boule, Spa (incl. own Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna- absolutely beautiful hidden spot) & many water-activities at the boatshouse. In general, we felt very comfortable as couple, but its definitly perfect for families (lots of things to do, like XXL Yenga, Chess..). Its cozy, clean, but don’t expect it too fancy modern. We‘d recommend going with halfboard as there are only other hotels nearby (depends if you like to go by car/ taxi some elsewhere). We personally really liked the kitchen @Beachrestaurant, it had a romantic touch and the qualityfood. The breakfastbuffet was nice, but If you have an advanced taste regarding food/ beverages(no fresh made juices) maybe you should consider another pick. No matter where we‘ve been the service has been well! Read less

This was our second visit to Tamassa Resort. Our first visit was 10 years ago when we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary when we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This time for our 40th wedding anniversary we came as a family and were not disappointed. However, the experience was not the same. Food: There is a large variety of food, something for everyone. The food in the show restaurant was good overall but a little oily in our opinion. We enjoyed the burger truck and the Playa Restaurant was ok but quite a few offering on the menu was not available to our disappointment as was the the ice cream parlour and Afternoon tea. The hotel organised a special meal at the Playa restaurant for our 40th Wedding Anniversary which was a very nice gesture and much appreciated. Rooms: We stayed in 2 Superior rooms, which were nice and modern. Staff: We found most staff members to be friendly and polite. A special mention to Mr Ram who remembered us from 10 years ago. He is a great asset to the hotel, ensuring we had everything we needed. Another special mention to Kevin & Mattieu (Studio 17) and Roupa (Photographer) we are looking forward to seeing our photographs. Santosha: A very beautiful and relaxing setting but with only 45 minutes free access, we were a little disappointed and found the treatments too expensive. Overall, we had an amazing family holiday in beautiful Mauritius. Many thanks, the Patel Family. Read less

We had a brilliant two week stay at Tamassa. I have set out the main pros and cons below, but overall it was great value for money and we would certainly return again. Pros: - The service, as all staff are friendly and proactive. A special mention to the lovely ladies at the burger van. - The food, miles better than most all inclusive resorts (e.g., RIU). Delicious curries at the buffet and the other restaurant Playa is great. The cocktails are also very nice. - The beach fronting the hotel is wide and better than that of the nearby hotels. It is a shallow lagoon so sheltered from the waves by the coral so the sea is relatively calm despite an often strong current. Brilliant snorkelling but definitely bring your sea shoes. The sunsets are stunning. - There are 3 nice pools plus a small pool at the spa. The loungers are nicely spaced out and generally have pretty thatched umbrellas. Other facilities like the spa and gym are also good. Cons: - The rooms were clearly once very nice with double sinks and a large shower etc. But they are now quite tatty and need renovating. Some of the plug sockets in our room didn’t work. - Small gripe but only soap bars are provided so if you are staying for a while you need to bring plenty of shower gel. - It can be difficult getting a lounger on the beach. We had to wake up early to get a good spot. - If you don’t like curry the buffet might feel somewhat limited (they aren’t very spicy though). - Although the pools are nice they are very cold! This was our second holiday at Tamassa Resort - we first visited in 2019. We had another amazing holiday at this lovely welcoming resort. The hotel is well laid out in spacious grounds and the garden areas are lovely. The resort was busy but never felt crowded and there was never any problem finding sunbeds. The staff are all amazing and go the extra mile to make sure you have everything you need and that your holiday is going really well. I have a food allergy and quite specific dietary needs which meant the buffet could be very restricted for me but the staff were superb and made sure my needs were carefully met. This meant I could enjoy wonderful food without worrying about my allergy and which met my dietary needs. Edhino the master bread baker was at Tamassa when we first visited and it was so good to see him again He came to speak to us every time he was in the restaurant area and took time to make sure my needs were being met. Suraj was one of the chefs who catered especially for me and Altaaf, Akilesh and Rebecca were front of house staff who also looked after me so well. There were other staff in the kitchen and restaurant who were also very good but unfortunately I don't recall all their names. Oumila at the front desk was always helpful if we had any questions. I enjoyed chatting to the gardener who looked after the area outside our room and who worked so hard keeping everywhere looking lovely. The only small concern we had was that a couple of things in the room were getting a little tired. This was the door on the cupboard housing the fridge and the wooden sides to the wash basin stands. All other aspects of the room were fine and the bed was comfortable. Housekeeping did a very good job and the room always smelt so pleasant and fresh when they had been in. We enjoyed sharing banter with the man who stocked our mini bar and brought fresh water for us every day. We were on holiday with my sister and her partner and they raised their concerns about the room with the Virgin rep. She spoke to the manager and he came to speak to us personally to discuss the concerns. Again he wanted to do everything he could to make our experience a good one. Sandesh offered to find alternative rooms for us but we stayed where we were as we liked the location of our adjacent rooms and the small issues raised were not going to spoil our holiday. We had a wonderful relaxing stay at this delightful resort with amazing staff. Read less
