Your happiness as a guest is clearly their top priority. There's plenty of space to enjoy peace and quiet (including a gorgeous adult infinity pool), as well as activities and water sports when you're feeling more energetic. Situated in a protected bay it was great that our teen girls could take out a paddle board or kayak whenever they wanted and the boat house team organised a fabulous whale watching trip for us. We stayed in a spacious Junior King Suite with wonderful ocean views. Our housekeeper Zabeer was very attentive and always ensured we had everything we needed. We bring home many happy memories and the wish to return one day to this special place and team. Read less

We only arrived a few days ago so still have the rest of our holiday to go but I wanted to mention the amazing staff. The minute we arrived we were made welcome. Staff took note of our name making it feel really personal. So far we have tried the seasonal tastes buffet restaurant and Mystique. Both are amazing. The buffet restaurant is not what I expected. Each time it felt like we were in a different restaurant as the food was really varied each night. The cooking stations meant fresh fish and meat to go with the great choices on offer. A special mention to Chef Manisha who was friendly, helpful and produced great food! We love breakfast - again loads of choice and if it’s not there then someone will make it happen. The hotel is amazing - views, beach, pool - all very clean and room service is excellent but I agree with others that it’s the staff and hat make it 5 star. It’s a great place to be introduced to Mauritius! Read less

My wife, daughter and I had a wonderful stay at the Westin. As soon as we arrived, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, and throughout or stay, we felt listened to and taken care of if there were any issues. This was our first big trip with our daughter (she was 8 months old at the time of the trip), so we wanted to spend our vacation in a place that felt safe, relaxing and friendly, and we found this at the Westin. Our little one was the star of the show every time we went to one of the restaurants or passed in front of the reception/concierge - all the staff smiled and would say hello to us. She loved meeting everybody and making new friends. The resort itself was spectacular - amazing location right on the beach, beautiful architecture, welcoming restaurants with great food, and a relaxed feeling throughout. We had asked for a ground floor room with direct access to the beach, and we got it. We had asked for a microwave in the room to heat up the baby food quickly if necessary, and we got it. We had asked for a baby chair in the room, and we got it. These seem like small things, but in the everyday life of a parent with an infant, they make a huge difference, and go a long way in delivering a relaxing stay. Some staff deserve a special shout out for making our stay extra special. The first person that deserves a mention is Sweeva, the Travel Ambassador that helped us with our reservation. Her prompt and friendly replies to all our questions and requests made choosing the Westin a lot easier. A big thanks goes out to management at the resort. Most were very keen on making sure guests were happy. Nitish needs to be mentioned for coming to us and asking for feedback regarding our stay and listening to our concerns. Our first night at one of the restaurants - Mystique - we found the food and the service quite underwhelming. When we mentioned this to Nitish, he took notes and assured us we'd have a better experience from then on, and we did. We went back to Mystique several times and really enjoyed it. Perhaps the only critique we would leave about the restaurant it is that some of the waiters there were not as friendly and/or professional as one might expect, but we never had a bad experience. A shoutout also goes out to Berty, who was always very friendly and said hello to us when he saw us, and when we asked him advice on what to see on the island, he took time out of his day to sit down with us and give us his insights on the best places to visit considering the fact that we had an infant with us. We also want to say thanks to Jameel, who was also very kind and friendly with us, and was always open to helping out if necessary. We stayed at the pool most of the time during our stay, and the pool manager Pradeep took really good care of us there. We never got a chance to thank him properly for his kind service - both at the pool and at the Kangan restaurant. Pradeep's colleague Steeven at the pool also deserves a shoutout for his kind and friendly service. Both he and Pradeep would ask us how we were doing and if we needed anything when they would see us. All the staff at the reception were professional and friendly, but we would gravitate toward Nitasha, Johanna, or Ingrid most of the time - they really knew how to make us feel welcome at the resort and they listened to our concerns when we had them, plus our daughter loved being around them! A huge thanks goes to our room cleaner, Reshmi - every time we came back to our room after breakfast, everything was clean and tidy and it felt like coming back to a new room every time. She was super friendly and always made sure she did not intrude. The Kids Club and activities team also stood out and helped make our stay more memorable. Nehemie and Winsley were super friendly and helped make our stay more fun! Finally, we'd like to thank Yoan at the concierge who helped us with organizing a day tour by taxi and making sure we were in good hands; plus Vajesh who was very kind and helped us with our luggage when leaving the resort. There are so many others who deserve a mention, but we can't recall their names unfortunately. The only critiques worth mentioning: Our room (Heavenly Junior Suite) was very nice, on the ground floor, just a few steps from the ocean. However, there was a small leak in the bathroom ceiling, which had to be fixed twice during our stay. Plus, and this is subjective, the interior design and furnishing in the room did not give off a modern vibe, but this did not impact our stay in a negative way. The food and service at the Mystique restaurant was hit or miss - we had amazing food and service sometimes, but below average food and service other times. This was pointed out to management and they did their best to rectify. Do not be afraid to give your feedback to management. Overall, the food and service was top notch throughout the resort. Finally, we took customized day tour of the southern part of the island by taxi. The tour was nice, but if we were to do it again, we'd probably opt for a rental car to have more flexibility and control of the trip. Overall, we had an amazing stay and would definitely consider coming back. Read less

We stayed at The Westin for 14 nights in Banyan suite, and we chose all inclusive. First impression is really great. We arrrived in the morning and the staff met us with a professional service, offering us breakfast and nice welcome drink. They explained everything and did their best for early check In👌🏻 and the first day we also where introduced to butler Roshan who turned out to be our help in need in every possible way. He was amazing 🤩 and we already miss him a lot, there wore nothing he didn’t do for us to make our stay even better than it already was. So a big thanks to Roshan. When it comes to breakfast buffet it was pretty ok, some small issues like bad scrambled eggs, and a bit hectic environment, but it didn’t matter because everyone was so nice around you. The restaurant at the hotel is great, especially the fusion where we got to know waiter Wimal( we think that’s his name) he was really great and gave us amazing service. But to be honest every person in this hotel was 👍🏻 Seam the head in staff always asked if everything was ok, making sure that we didn’t miss anything. If I should point something out regarding the food, it would be that we missed the opportunity to have lunch buffet. We are a family who have been many places around the world, and to be honest this probably is the one place we will remember because of the people in the hotel and their great personalities and service. Room service was great, everyday you got plenty of towels and water. And they did a great job cleaning the room. There is one thing that is a big minus at this hotel and in Mauritius in general and that’s what I saw regarding stray animals. Some of the staff kicked after them and threw water on them. There are stray cats and dogs and they are sweet and nice, with a respectable behavior toward us people because they are afraid and need food. They didn’t do anything towards us humans and it broke my heart to be witness the situation for the strays. The beach is just ok and, I would recommend shoes. You need a car to explore, because of the location of the hotel. After returning to Norway we can look back to a really great vacation, and would definitely recommend this place Read less
