The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are six restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

The crew is polite. The menu is explained to you. The dishes are authentically Creole and would be a final cover. It just makes good blue ones with such a team. You feel like you're coming home. We stayed at Kornou twice and both times we loved it. We highly recommend it!!

For a memorable blend of hospitality and adventure, Zilwah Attitude Hotel is an ideal choice. I would especially like to attribute special merits to 4 unique staff members named Kurvin Poule, Fabien C, Stann and Adriano. They made those few days highly enjoyable and memorable for my siblings and I! Read less

We have just returned from this hotel which was a trip to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. On arrival the view can only be described as jaw dropping and we felt thoroughly spoilt and waited on hand and foot through out. The place was spotless. The buffet restaurant was above par compared to what we have experienced before and would highly reccommend booking the al a carte restaurants for Thai, Indian, Mauritian and the Beach restaurant, our favourites were the Beach and Thai. Also book for the BBQ on the island. If you are staying more than 7 nights you can make two bookings for each. Also reccommend the glass bottom boat trip which is included. Above all the staff were the most attentive and friendly. Our housekeeper Anand (room 1622) kept asking if there was anything more he could do and the room was spotless and always tidier than we had left it - even though we tried to leave it tidy he found something we had missed :-). The entertainment team Sylvano, Stan, Fabian (sorry for ruining the card trick) and Khurvin were always great fun and did the best aqua gym. Finally the bar staff kept us well supplied! Shout out to Satyam, Miraj, Nishi, Samuel, Paul and Melanie. We can not wait to return, thank you. Read less

From arrival to departure was very positive. Staff are very friendly and always ready to chat. We found the bulk store very good and liked the ethos of sustainability. Free pedalos, kayaks and paddle boards. Complimentary glass bottom boat trip was a nice surprise. Went to Beach barbeque and really enjoyed food. All inclusive was very good on food front, many choices of eating with several bookable a la carte restaurants and a buffet available nightly. Lunch could be taken at the beach restaurant or the buffet venue which served burgers , sandwiches and salads. My only gripe would be the alcohol. It is all local and is certainly an acquired taste! I would not expect premium brands but expected international brands i.e Gordons gin ,not local. Many good cocktails but if the base is not great it obviously affects the drink. Wine also was a very big disappointment. All local, again not expecting top dollar wine but would expect a recognisable international label. I don't drink beer but my husband was drinking Heineken 0% as the other 2 beers were local and he didn't enjoy. Overall though had a great stay, as mentioned before ALL staff were friendly and efficient but a big shout for Veronique (waiting staff) and Karenne our room cleaner who did an excellent job. Nightly entertainment was welcome. Read less
