Zilwa Attitude

Mauritius, Indian Ocean

The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are seven restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

I'll never forget walking through the entrance to see the view over the infinity pool out to sea. Simply beautiful. Great selection of activities to do e.g snorkelling, paddle boarding, pedalos, plus there are beach sellers walking round. We used Big John for our trip around Mauritius which takes in all the sites such as the botanical Gardens, Port Louis, seven coloured sands etc. There's also a wide choice of food and drinks, alcoholic or not, and the service is fantastic. The staff genuinely couldn't do enough for us. The room was nothing particularly special, although it was clean, today and comfy... We hardly spent any time in it. I never thought a holiday like this would be something I would enjoy but everyone involved at the Zilwa It is pure luxury and I'll never do it again, but that's more of a cost thing than anything negative about this experience! Nothing was too much trouble, the staff were absolutely fantastic - special mentions to Kim the Wedding Coordinator, Arvind the bar manager, Rani in the main hotel and Sweetie in the Spa. The food was wonderful and plenty of it, the hospitality was second to none and our Wedding was perfect. Everything was taken care of right down to the buttonholes. The view upon entering the hotel I will take with me forever - breathtaking. I cannot fault anything at the hotel, and when we return to Mauritius this is the only hotel we will be coming back to. Thank you to all the staff for such wonderful and happy wedding memories. Read less

My husband and I recently went to Zilwa Attitude for our honeymoon, in February. We found this hotel almost by fluke online, and decided to book it, rather than the once recommended by our travel agent. We are both so glad we did! The facilities were amazing. The check in procedure was easy and set the tone for the holiday, with a lovely welcome drink. The cleaners did a tremendously good job and our room was lovely. We went all inclusive, which meant not only were our food and drinks included in the price, they also offered several activities, such as kayaking, glass bottom boat trip, stand up paddle boarding, snorkelling and more. This enabled us to make the most of everyday without spending money on trips every day. The food was lovely, we had an incredible meal at the beach restaurant one evening, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was delicious. However my biggest praise is for the staff. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. Two of the bar staff, Avinash and Satyam, greeted us every evening, and made the best cocktails! Absolutely brilliant service. We also extend our greatest compliments to Florian and Anjilee, who were again so friendly and welcoming. Nothing was ever too much trouble, which was brilliant. Finally, unfortunately we cannot for the life of us remember his name, but there was a gentleman working in the restaurants, who was South African, who was amazing! He had excellent customer service skills and offered us some great recommendations for things to do in the local area... and where to get a good oreo milshake at the airport! I would 100% recommend this hotel to friends and family and I hope we get the opportunity to visit again in the future. Thank you so much to everyone at Zilwa Attitude. Beth & Billy Read less
