Zilwa Attitude

Mauritius, Indian Ocean

The hotel

Not just a hotel, Zilwa Attitude is more of an experience, embracing the life of the islanders. With a relaxed village feel, it is packed with authentic Mauritian experiences so you’ll truly feel like one of the natives after a week or two here. In a beautiful location, overlooking endless stretches of sandy beach and with stunning views of no less than five islands, it is a slice of heaven. Just a few minutes away by boat, or a short paddle, is Grand Zil where you can while away a few hours on a lounger and perhaps tuck in to a barbecue lunch — or enjoy a rejuvenating massage on the smaller Ti Zil. Rooms are inspired from traditional seaside bungalows and are contemporary in design but rustic too with rough white-washed walls and brushed cement floors. Embracing bright colours, there's a choice of room types, as well as family rooms, apartments and suites by the sea. Book a treatment at the world-class spa and take some time to chill on a day bed in the relaxation garden whilst listening to the twitter of birdsong. As you kick back, the little ones will be kept happy at the kids' club, with a fun garden, a games room and a large boat to explore and escape the sun ! There are seven restaurants at Zilwa, offering cuisines from European to Creole, Indian and Asian, and the All Inclusive dine-around experience means you can discover wonderful varied meals each day of your stay.

We stayed all inclusive and enjoyed all the different a la carte restaurants. The buffet is of average/normal quality not super extensive. They have a great kidspool with excellent shading, great beaches, BBQ lunch on an Island and our little girl enjoyed the glass botemboat tour. Snorkelling can not be done at the hotel, but free boot trips go almost every hour and take you to nice coral, we even saw a turtle. Special credits for Sabina in the restaurant, our daugther is your biggest fan calling your name all Day when near the restaurant, Florian & the South African men were always very kind & Kiara from front Office did an excellent job, checking us in but also keep on informing about us during the stay! She arranged a late check out so that our almost 2 Year old could take an afternoon nap before flying home late at 23 hours. The kindness of all staff was what made our stay extra special! Thanks and hope to see you again someday. Read less

I've spent some few hours in this marvellous resort with breathtaking landscapes and felt really at home with the warmth of the people welcoming us. The ambiance, the food, the moments spent there are priceless! Will come back for sure!

Some reviews mention the difficulty of booking restaurants, this is not a problem we experienced (11 night stay, book 24-48 hours in advance to avoid disappointment and yes you can block book multiple restaurants for different nights! Just use common sense, the main buffet is excellent, but you can’t just walk up to the others and expect to be seated, that’s just not how they do it. Talk to the staff they’ll help you!!). Highly recommended!! Read less

Fantastic hotel with breathtaking ocean view (from beachfront room). Minimalistic desing of the room was really pleasant and calming. The hotel Staff was helpful, energetic and what is most important – always friendly and welcoming. The dishes were delicious – everything was fresh and tasty. Though we had one unpleasant situation connected with waiting time from ordering to being served in Kot Nou, but we changed the restaurant and in the second it was just fine. The shrimps in the indian themed restaurant Tadka were perfectly cooked. Lor Disab a la carte was great too. The whole bar staff was always nice and willing to take the longer road just to make sure we were satisfied. We also enjoyed the all inclusive included snorkelling and short boat trip around the place. Read less
