Dan Tel-Aviv

The hotel

Overlooking the beach and close to Tel Aviv's bustling centre, the Dan Tel Aviv was one of the first luxury hotels to be built in the city. Having seen many celebrities walk the hallways, you'll feel like a celeb yourself when you step through the front doors and enter the modern splendour. You can choose between an indoor and outdoor pool, as well as a few different dining options. And at the end of a busy day (or night), retreat to your cosy room for some well-deserved down time.

These folks plus the hotel's proximity to the Mediterranean beaches and the ancient Port of Jaffa pretty much summed up what was good about the hotel. Most hotel amenities were mediocre, especially the oft cited "wonderful Israeli breakfast" that is frankly inferior to dozens of hotel breakfasts I've partaken throughout the USA and Europe. Anyone who raves about the Dan's bland fare has very limited culinary expertise and questionable tastes. Read less

Not often I change hotels. This tune I did. The famous Dan put me in an outdated and dark and gloomy hotel room. Back to the 80s. I contacted their customer service 5 times per email and went to the front desk twice. Without response. About 24hrs later a first sign of life and a beter room. But overall a poor experience, if you book at this hotel,… Read more

But overall a poor experience, if you book at this hotel, do not expect any nice sea views or complimentary Upgrades when booking a deluxe hotel room. In that pride category, expect more gloomy depression. And hope you can check out soon, Read less

The pool was lovely and we enjoyed the beach across the street, The breakfast buffet was always excellent. The Saturday buffet was amazing and truly extensive. The waitstaff was very attentive, constantly offering coffee or cappuccino refills. The location was perfect for our purposes. We even walked to Jaffa from the hotel. We stayed in the Dan Tel Aviv 18 years ago and it still lived up to our expectations. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary as well as our granddaughter’ s Bat Mitzvah (in Herzliya). The hotel enhanced our trip, and we will definitely stay here again, hopefully in less than 18 years! Read less
