Let me begin by mentioning that there was a delay in our check-in owing to some small issues with the room, which required at least 10 minutes of waiting time. However, the friendly greeting and approachability of the staff is unparalleled, and the room is ideal. Way to go guys.....

We have just returned from our 5th visit to the Fairmont Bab al Bahr. We stayed for 7 nights in a Gold View Room. The Gold View rooms are situated on the 7th floor with magnificent views towards the amazing mosque. There are numerous benefits of staying in a Gold Room, breakfast in a quiet area , again with stunning views of the Mosque, Afternoon Tea and a sundowners daily menu inclusive of happy hour. The staff on the 7th floor are amazing, Phoo, Mark, Alfam, Paulo & Rajan all provided us with exceptional service. We did have an issue with a noisy neighbour one night (obviously not the Hotel’s fault) and having mentioned it to Rajan the following morning he sorted the issue discreetly and professionally for which we were grateful. We spent most of our daytimes relaxing on the beach close to the pool bar. The pool area does get busy over the weekends but there are more than enough sun beds around the pool and on the beach that there were always many available, during the week the pool/beach is much quieter. The pool is huge and the water temperature was perfect to cool down in the 40 degree plus heat, it is a credit to the staff working in the pool bar and on the beach that they carry on their duties professionally in such heat, Amran, Naresh, Brett , Benjamin & Gaurub were excellent. Brett who was our excellent waiter during several lunch times at the pool he has an amazing memory . Benjamin remembered us from our visit in Sept last year, he always checked on us during the day and we enjoyed our daily chats, he really does put the Fairmont brand in a good light. Guarub was another superb member of staff, always happy and his smile is infectious, we also saw him working in Bridges Bar for a couple of nights where he seemed to really enjoy working there. During the evenings we only ventured out of the hotel once, there are more than enough options in the hotel that you really don’t need to go elsewhere. During our stay we ate in Marco’s Italian & Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill, every meal we had was very good and once again there were standout staff, Samantha & Akhin in the Steakhouse were great. We did attend the Saturday Brunch, a great experience and highly recommended, most of the seating is in CuiScene , we were seated in the Italian which meant a more relaxed afternoon was enjoyed. We spend several evenings in Bridges Bar, for drinks and on 2 occasions we ate there, there were numerous staff that throughout the week made our stay even more enjoyable with great service , laughs and friendship, Sanjiv, Pradeep, Nima, Rahat and Nima all made our holiday more enjoyable. We really enjoy the relaxed feeling of the hotel , our 5 visit shows how much we enjoy the hotel , however one of the main reason we keep returning is the superb staff who work at the hotel, the service is second to none, we are already planning to return for our 6th visit. This was our second trip to this hotel and we were not disappointed. The location is perfect to be able to visit the Sheik Zayed Mosque, which is best visited at night due to the lighting and the temperature, easily accessible to Yas Mall too which also is a must! I used to be a regular visitor to this area, but never stayed in this place before. Based on several recommendations, I decided to try this hotel with some friends. The hotel lobby is spacious with a lounge and shops. We were checked in to a room overlooking Grand Mosque and Al Maqta Bridge. We enjoyed a long day at the beach and the wide pool. The room was big surrounded with a panoramic glass which enlighten our room and allowed us to a enjoy a very nice view. The front desk staff was very flexible and allowed us to enjoy a late checkout. We were impressed by the hotel and the hospitality of the staff. Thank you fairmont for this nice stay. Read less
