Fairmont Ajman

Ajman, United Arab Emirates

Virgin rating

The hotel

Fairmont’s fabulous outpost in Ajman, this luxury beachfront retreat brings all the glamorous décor, gourmet dining, and grand amenities you’d expect from a Fairmont — in a setting you might not expect in the UAE. The next big name in the emirates, Ajman may be 30 minutes from Dubai, but it’s poles apart in its subtlety and serenity. The Fairmont’s arrival to its palm-swept beachline signals Ajman’s ready to compete with its neighbours. A grand getaway, it brings eight restaurants and lounges (taking you from Italy to the Caribbean), an infinity pool fringing a private stretch of sand, and an activity list that covers everyone in the family, from those after spa treatments to those who’d prefer splashing about on a floating off-shore water park (and even little guests who’d prefer making sandcastles at their kids’ club).

We had an amazing holiday staying here for 2 weeks at the end of August with our two teenagers. We stayed in a dual aspect corner suite with sea views from both balconies - it was huge and plenty of room for the 4 of us, two bathrooms etc :-) We used the all inclusive package which worked very well for our family. The hotel is about 45 mins (depending on traffic) from Dubai and offers a free bus service, so we made the most of this going to explore Dubai & all its attractions every few days . As for the hotel - Concierge/Bell boy and Front of House were brilliant (Gufran and Tony, Sami) - very patient- responding to every query we had. The hotel setting is fantastic- super relaxing - very peaceful beachfront. Very clean, and always enough loungers. We went around 9am each day and always got 4 loungers together, no problem. Beach towels and loungers were high quality :-) (definitely not threadbare as you see in some hotels). Pool/beach staff - work long hours in the heat and were always very polite and friendly, chatty. Infinity pool was the perfect spot to watch the sun go down. The food at Spectrum really was standout. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety on offer - a lot of choice for both grown ups and children. My son has a number of allergies and for the first few days a chef always came to speak to us about allergens in the meals. This was appreciated. All dishes are labelled with allergens also which is hugely appreciated. Shout out to Joan, April and team for being so friendly, welcoming and bending over backwards to ensure we had a smooth eating experience. We ate at least one meal in Spectrum every day of our holiday and did not tire of the food. All in all we had a wonderful holiday - many thanks to all the hard working staff :-) Read less

The hotel itself looks very good although there are signs of aging but then doesn’t everything! My only concern was the buffet restaurant with delays in service etc. This however has been addressed by the hotel management and the experience this morning was completely different. I can only thank the General Management team and all concerned for the quick response and resolution and the personal apology. Having a great time. Read less
