The hotel

Inspired by the palaces of the Arabian Peninsula, you’ll feel like royalty at the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah! In a prime beachside location, 1 hour from Dubai International Airport, there’s an 18-hole championship golf course at your disposal and a world-class spa for banishing any lingering cares. All of this, combined with the legendary True Waldorf Service ensures a memorable stay. When you can tear yourself away from the grandeur of your spacious room or suite, not one but two enormous swimming pools await you – grab a cocktail, a good book and stake your claim on the sundeck. For more active moments, there are water sports in abundance down at the beach. If you prefer dry land, a few rounds of golf are a must, if only to admire the stunning fairways! Whilst parents are at play, the kids can escape to their very own children’s club, offering a variety of activities. There are also plenty of family excursions to enjoy – desert safari anyone? When it comes to dining, the Waldorf boasts an eclectic selection. Feast on food from around the world, including Europe, Middle East and Japan. There are also more casual options with pizza, pasta and salads served by the poolside or on the beach. After dinner, head to 17Squared on the 17th floor, a sophisticated bar and lounge that boasts stunning 360 degree views of Ras Al Khaimah.

Sofia was so sweet. The water and fries were great and service was so good and efficient. The rest of the staff were also very nice. The atmosphere is perfect for families, business meetings, or just to relax and have a drink. We will definitely come again.

The staff are super nice and attentive. The beach is nice. They facilitated early check in and late check out. The breakfast was very good but can be a bit improved by looking at the variety and adding a second chief on the life station. My son enjoyed the gym as well.

The Waldorf Astoria provides an impeccable experience all around, whether it be the facilities, services, and employees, they have been incredible throughout the visit, especially employees like Thomas, Prosper and many others who have made the stay well enjoyed for us.

In summary, a very opulent hotel befitting of any one of the super hotels in the other more well known Emirates. What sets this hotel apart in our view is the family friendly atmosphere that the hotel seems to create. This ambience is primarily created due to the wonderful staff working in the hotel. Their modus operandi is to make the guests feel like they are home from home, and will literally do anything to make sure the guests are having an enjoyable time. The hotel is very lucky to have two very experienced, very likeable characters managing their signature restaurants, the Lexington (bar and grill) and Umi (Japanese). The names of the two individuals are Arjay and Gurpreet who manage these establishments respectively with due skill and attention. We never managed to eat at the buffet restaurant for dinner as we always had a pre-dinner drink at one of these establishments and wouldn’t end up leaving given the hospitality afforded by these individuals and their wider teams, let alone the quality of the food available. However, the ethos of the staff transcends around the hotel including the wonderful chef from Bengal named Mithun S, the staff in the restaurant Azure (Yassine and Shablita), the staff around the pool (Thomas), the housekeeping team (Leonard and Hassan), and the list could literally go on and on. However, we do have to mention Izabella who is truly a wonderful singer destined for a great career. We have never been to a Waldorf Astoria before, but have obviously heard of the brand and all the connotations it conjures, primarily from the hotel in New York and the Waldorf salad (which our parents have previously experienced c15 years ago and very complimentary of). We were so impressed with this hotel and its facilities including the outstanding swimming pool, the well kept private beach, the activities in the surrounding area including the golf course and padel tennis (which is a great excuse to get out of the sun when it’s so hot in the middle of the day), and again particularly the staff, that we would come back again which I’m sure we will do.
