The hotel

Warm and welcoming, this hotel is a haven surrounded by 500 acres of natural beauty and serenity. Rooms are richly furnished in French Provencal décor with floor-to-ceiling windows and every amenity you need to ensure your comfort. Just 10 miles away is the Arizona Snowbowl – a year-round recreational area made from the pine-topped lava flows and cinder cones of an extinct volcano in Arizona’s San Francisco Peaks. Here you can downhill, cross country ski and snowshoe to your hearts content. The Grand Canyon is also within easy striking distance as are many other natural desert wonders. After seeing the sights, relax during the evening at the Silver Pine Restaurant, serving chicken, steaks and their speciality, prime ribs. The bar is the perfect place to end the evening over an Arizona Fashioned, reflecting on all you’ve done and have yet to do!

Quick check in, beautiful lobby tastefully decorated, room was spacious and very quite despite the proximity to the highway, very comfortable bed, two suitcase stools in the room what was a plus, a steamer for clothes in the bathroom. I still give it 5 stars, although the lady in the orange tracksuit who showed us the table for breakfast didn’t say good morning, answered my question if I could just go ahead because she kept chatting with the waitress, in a not very friendly way and then just threw the menus on the table with her back to us and walked away without saying anything. Maybe she can work on that a bit. Read less

The hotel itself is enormous - I think there are something like four wings. While the room itself is fine, the heater was really noisy (it sounded like a bearing or something went bad and there was a constant clicking). While the room itself is fine, the heater was really noisy (it sounded like a bearing or something went bad and there was a constant clicking). What chapped my hide was that I paid extra for the "bed and breakfast" which I mistakenly though would include breakfast for my wife and I. In fact, it merely ended up being a $20 credit for a truly awful meal served in a nearly empty Monday restaurant (no buffet on Monday which probably was just as well). We ended up maybe saving $5 for a meal we would never have had had we known. If you're going to make a reservation (which I did from their website), save yourself the aggravation and just book a room. I realize that much of my dislike of the hotel is based on personal preference, but I would not return. Read less

Beds are comfortable. Rooms are clean as a whistle. Staff is friendly and helpful. Gift shop lacks anything southwestern or local or interesting to buy. Enjoyed walking the trail each morning before breakfast. We’ll be back again for sure.

I have had occasion to stay at Little America a few times over the years, for business and most recently for pleasure. I was dubious when I first saw it, right on the highway with a big adjoining big truck stop/gas station/travel center. But despite that, this is my favorite hotel in Flagstaff because I always find it so peaceful and calming. The property has a beautiful outdoor hot tub and seasonal pool, lovely landscaped grounds and even nature trails in the forest the property backs up on. It's very pleasant to stroll the grounds, and the trails beyond. The rooms are also spacious and gracious, and relatively recent renovations gave a much needed upgrade to the decor. Our room was handsome and comfortable, with an exceptional view of garden, pool and forest. Service is friendly and helpful. My only complaints; the room was too warm at night, and the climate controls didn't seem to help. Also, the heating system is fairly noisy, which may be fine if you like to sleep to white noise. Finally, while a minor issue, the carpeting could use replacing in the common hallways and entries that connect the sprawling lodges. Read less

We had a great time here. It served as our base while we visited the Grand Canyon and Painted Desert. It’s at a great location for seeing these places. Very clean and showers are really nice. Doorways are not really insulated to sound, so can get kind of loud if there is a rowdy party coming in.
