The room was very large, including a chair and couch to relax in right by the sliding door. Having it open for fresh air was very nice. The only two comments I have are that the menu at the restaurant is pretty limited, but still with the basics for a good meal. Also, there is no daily service to your room. I completely understand this, and usually don't mind. We just didn't know it until we finally saw a sign in the hallway, so we had no coffee refills for the stay. I would still absolutely stay here again! Read less

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years and always love it. It is immaculate, the staff is always friendly and we love eating breakfast here. It's right off the highway but there are large grounds that makes you feel like you are in a secluded location. The rooms are large and comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

A fantastic hotel with lovely friendly staff! We had a splendid room with so much space and such a comfortable bed. I decided to stay at the Little American as I was attending a conference across the road. I looked at Airbnb but ultimately decided on the Little American because I wanted the on site pool. On arrival the indoor pool was closed, and I was advised I could use the outdoor pool, however, it snowed and rained during my visit so this didn't seem attractive. Be advised that takeout includes a mandatory tip, and this is not well explained on the website. Pluses include: lovely gardens, elegant entry areas, extremely comfortable bed and warm bedding. Front desk staff was usually helpful when I called and stopped in to ask a question. Hot tubs were very nice, but a hike from my room Minuses for my stay include: thin walls, opening and closing of nearby rooms were loud in my room, one night was woken up by couple arguing in another room, Louvre type window coverings (no curtain) so light shone in to room more than I am used to, no microwave or fridge. No access to ice machine that I was able to find (other areas had ice machine on map but my room key would not open these other areas, so I was not able to get ice -- also, no liner in ice container so I wasn't sure if putting ice directly in the container left would be sanitary. No daily room service -- however, I did ask for coffee pods and was able to get them from the front desk. As a neutral appoint decor was old fashioned, carpets and upholstery worn, however, I did not find the decor to be remarkable. I asked for a quiet room and do believe I was given a relatively quiet room relative to other rooms in the area, however, my room was the longest walk from the front desk. Overall, I didn't feel this room offered good value and should I come to Salt Lake again I will probably try for AirBnB. (In walking around Salt Lake City, other nearby accommodations did looked less cared for, so I am not sure that there would be another nearby overnight hotel that would be a better option). Also, I do think when the pool is done, that the pool and hot tub area will be very nice -- nicer than at the Grand American. Read less

I stayed at Little America in April 2022 with my husband and our 12-year-old son. We reserved the King room with sofa bed, which to our surprise had two small balconies (one at the back of the room and one on the side since our room was on the end of Lodge 2). It was great to be able to open the sliding doors and let some fresh air in and to stand outside and smell the pine trees. The main room had a king bed, two night stands, a sofa bed (full size), a coffee table, an upholstered chair, a dresser, and a side table. There was also a coffee bar with glass shelves and a cold drawer where you can store small items that need to be refrigerated. The bathroom was completely updated, with a double-door entry with mirrors on the back, a vanity & sink in the first room and the shower, toilet, and a second sink in a separate room. This was convenient, because I could use the vanity counter while my husband was in the shower. There’s also a restaurant inside the hotel in the lower level. We got coffee and dessert and brought it back to our room. It was very good. There’s also a pool and spa, but we didn’t use these facilities. There are walkways on the premises which are nice for an stroll. All the staff members were very friendly and accommodating. The online check-in service was good, but we still needed to actually go to the front desk to check in and get our keys. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend staying at Little America. Read less
