Heather who checked us in went above and beyond upgrading us to a beautiful suite to take care of a small problem, thanks again Heather. This is a beautiful destination property with outstanding customer service, a very well run property. Read less

Last week I completed my first stay ever at a Little America hotel. I spent 4 nights as a solo traveler at this location, and I was really impressed. The hotel gets the big things right and the little ones too, such as the beautiful, spacious rooms, big, thick towels and even the fact that the room furniture includes some individualistic oak tabletops and headboard. My room, which was a king room facing the patio, seemed to have been recently renovated, so everything was sparkling new and clean. The hotel service was consistently responsive and cheerful. Each time I asked for any supplies, they were brought right away. Right now, of course, some of the services aren’t available, such as the fitness center and restaurant, but I didn’t find this to be much of a drawback. Behind the hotel is a beautiful 1.5 mile hiking loop through ponderosa where you can get out of the hearing of traffic. I noticed that the hotel seems very handicapped-accessible. The one complaint I have concerned the hotel’s beautiful, large pool and hot tub area, which were a big draw for me. Regrettably, the normal opening hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. have been chopped by five hours per day, to 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. For many guests, this doesn’t matter. For us swimmers, though, this is a real loss and wasted resource. Reception told me that the hotel was unable to sufficiently staff the pool during those hours, which makes no sense. If you want to head off for the day to visit a National Park or whatever activity, then you want to use the pool in the morning, and not wait around until 11. Likewise, if you’re an adult without children who enjoys swimming, you want to take advantage of those times when you’re more likely to be able to do so, which is morning and evening. On your check-out day, it’s nearly impossible to time it in order to use the pool. This inexplicable reduction in service was aggravating. They also began to heat the swimming pool to an unpleasantly warm, bathtub-like temperature, given the hot summer weather. I stayed here during a low-capacity time, which helped to make noise levels low and the swimming pool a touch less busy. Even during my stay, noisy kids sometimes ran up and down the hallways, and the pool was at times colonized by families with children. You can sense that when the hotel is at full capacity, the twentysomethings in groups, and the families with small children, may become pretty loud. Leaving that aside, however, the staff did a beautiful job of making me feel welcome and providing a lovely stay. Read less

We stayed for 2 nights while passing through on a cross-country move. This place was so nice, well exceeding our expectations. The hotel renovation was completed a couple of years ago but still shows almost no wear. The entire hotel was decorated and furnished so nicely that it felt like a really high end resort. The grounds were beautiful. The room was spotless. The layout of the bathroom is ideal, with an additional sink outside of the private bathroom, but still separate from the bedroom and entryway. The staff was so friendly and the food in the restaurant was really good. My only gripe would be that there is not a laundry room in the hotel. You have to walk over to the Sinclair truck stop (which is sort of a part of the resort). It’s a nice truck stop and gas station, but a truck stop and gas station, nonetheless. The washers and dryers were not very clean inside. We found that they all had body hair and other debris from the truckers and other guests. And trekking all the way over there with all of our laundry was far less than ideal, as a whole. There were also only 4 machines and the place stays very busy. We were lucky to find two of the machines free. If the hotel took away just one guest room or one utility closet and installed a couple of washers and dryers strictly for the use of hotel guests, this would be a game changer. After traveling 2000 miles we needed to do laundry and having to do it in a truck stop was really very disappointing (and kind of an uncomfortable experience, honestly). Otherwise, this hotel was absolutely perfect. We will be living only 7 hours or so from Flagstaff and intend to visit the area regularly because of how lovely it is. We will certainly return to this hotel, but with hopes that the laundry room situation will be revisited by the owners. Read less
