While we experienced a number of incidents of disappointing customer service prior to and during check in, nothing compared to the surprise awaiting us when we got into bed in room 1119. After about 20 minutes of lying in bed, we noticed our clothes were wet and the bed was wet. We stripped the bed to find the mattress soaked thru with urine. We called down to the front desk and had the mattress switched out and sheets changed, all of which took about an hour (this happened around 11:30pm, after a long day of travel to Boston from Los Angeles). While the staff who actually moved the mattress and remade the bed were very nice, compassionate and professional, we were dissatisfied with the level of seriousness the hotel front desk person (who was not a manager and the only person on duty) seemed to take. We repeatedly requested that a manager, and specifically the GM, be contacted by phone immediately given the health hazard this presented. As you can imagine, this was the most horrid hospitality experience we have ever had at any property worldwide. We are traumatized from laying in urine. Stay here at your own peril!!! Read less

Stayed here one night prior to boarding cruise ship. Restuarant on site had live entertainment, good food. Close to the port, relatively close to airport. Staff was very pleasant, breakfast was $8.00 and pretty tasty.

There’s a great little workout room downstairs, definitely one of the better ones for a small hotel. I liked the grab and go concept with various food items downstairs. The check in staff was very helpful and gracious enough to accommodate me though I arrived quite early. Location-wise it’s in a more quiet area but easy enough to walk to the touristy areas of the Seaport or wander over downtown. There’s also a nice little wine shop open pretty late next door -perfect! This hotel fit the bill perfectly for me. I was in Boston for AWS re:Inforce and the Aloft was right across the street. So location was an A+ in my circumstance. This hotel fit the bill perfectly for me. I was in Boston for AWS re:Inforce and the Aloft was right across the street. So location was an A+ in my circumstance. The hotel itself was, by design, a bit quirky (a B). There is only one service desk in the lobby, it is circular and had between 1 and 3 people working at any time. I never had to wait long, but it was hard for customers to figure out where to wait for help. I imagine that if multiple customers needed assistance at the same time it would be confusing to figure out the order in which to help. The room was good (a B). The bed was comfortable. The work space was effective, but not very comfortable (good WiFi and outlets, stylish but uncomfortable chair). A coffee machine that was easy to operate and a small refrigerator. I do like Starwood's (and Aloft's) offer of a "Green Choice". I declined housekeeping for my stay and got a small credit back on the bill. The room had plenty of towels (I only need 1 for a 3-night stay) and amenities, so not having housekeeping is 100% fine for me and I appreciate that I can create less laundry this way. NOTE: I booked this room via a service called Cancelon (cancelon.com). The city was sold-out. If a room could be found, it was miles away from the convention center and was over $700/night. I stumbled upon Cancelon by chance and grabbed the room for $400/night. The result of this was perfectly fine, but I was worried the entire time that I had been cheated and would show up with no room. Cancelon provided notifications of the booking, but none of the confirmation numbers matched anything provided by Aloft. I was able to call the hotel directly about 24 hours after arriving and they had a reservation in my name. Read less

The hotel is by far modern. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is great. There's a bar, restaurant and market all inside! The biggest downfall is parking. There is no direct parking for the hotel, just an outside lot around the street. The location is good for walking to the whole Seaport area.
