Aloft Boston Seaport District

Boston, USA

The hotel

Bang on trend, this hotel’s industrial-meets-chic styling is completely in keeping with its neighbourhood, the fast-flourishing Seaport district. Its spot in this trendy borough’s pretty enviable too, just across the road from its coolest hangout space, Lawn on D, which hosts food trucks, live events, and free yard games and WiFi. There’s free WiFi at Aloft Boston Seaport District too, along with a suitably contemporary indoor pool space, Live at Aloft music sessions in the W XYZ® bar, a pool table at its Re:mixSM lounge, and 24 hour dining and fitness, ideal whatever time you return from exploring Boston’s most famous attractions. From the Freedom Trail to the shopping around Faneuil Hall, the city’s biggest draws are all within a couple of miles.

Staff and facility are great. The issue is this: the hotel is located directly across D Street from The Lawn, which had very loud late night events. The hotel is unable or unwilling to address this with The Lawn. A shame, because this wrecks an otherwise great property.

Very nice and clean. Staff helpful. Simple concept with a bar and breakfast area. Outside/within restaurant service. Very convenient for cruise return and Airport. Trolley tour within walking distance. Expensive.

My only complaint about this hotel is the lighting or lack of it in the rooms, especially the bathroom. It’s too dark to apply makeup. Please either add more lighting or provide lighted makeup mirrors.

Loved this hotel from check in to check out. A vibrant lobby, friendly staff, clean rooms and within walking distance of all that Downtown Boston offers. During my stay, there happened to be a sip and sketch in the lobby space and many people enjoying the hotel bar, but an overall great vibe.

We arrived with our grandson for a weekend in Boston. As requested, we were given a room with two queen beds. We had also requested, at the time of the reservation a "Feather-Free" room, as I have severe allergies. Even after three phone calls, they NEVER replaced the feather pillows. On Saturday night as we were heading out to the theater, we realized wated was poring into our room from the light fixture in the bathroom. The first phone call eleicted an "okay, don't worry about it". However, as there was now 1/2 inch of water (and growing) we stopped at the front desk so they could understand the urgency. The response was we could chnzge rooms, and since we were now late for the theater, they would pack and move us. As you can imagine, upon our return later that evening, nothing was done except mopping up the water in the bathroom area. The carpet was sopping wet, and we were again told not to worry. The next morning we insisted that they run dehumidifier and geaters to dry up the rug. But, there are bigger drawbacks to this hotel. It is NOT near anything except the Convention Center. Even places to eat are scarce. The hotel itself has limited options: a few overpriced snack, some microwaved breakfast options, some very limited bar food, and a restaurant which is not theirs which opens at 4:00. You either have to walk very far to find anything, or take a lot of taxis. The room was nice enough, but tiny. The staff is friendly but absolutely unable to answer any question or help with anything. We would never go back - there are better neighborhoods and better options! Read less
