Image of the Tripadvisor rating Average hotel; terrible service and people; fraudulent charges

The hotel room was average quality. But every element of service was terrible including my effort to get a copy of my receipt after my stay. Multiple calls, rude staff, ensure that I will never stay here again. Lots of options in the area—don’t pick this one! Multiple calls, rude staff, ensure that I will never stay here again. Lots of options in the area—don’t pick this one! Once I did finally get my receipt, I found unexplained charges on it (something called P Room and taxes). When I called and spoke with the front desk manager, she advised that those charges should not have been on my account and would be removed. We'll see if that happens. Glad I followed through! Great place to enjoy the city vibe of Boston. Lots of shopping in the nearby blocks and restaurants too. Across the street is Cheasecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, Coldstone, Waganama, a CVS, a Barnes and Noble bookstore, a Polo store, Saks fifth ave…. Just to give you a few examples. There is an indoor pool. The main negative right now is no restaurant. So you can order breakfast and pick it up and eat it in the lobby. A little strange. The concierge should have a flyer with breakfast and restaurant options. She gave us a few but it was sloppy handwriting and hard to tell where to go. Housekeeping does clean between days, which not all Marriotts have been doing lately so that was good. About 15 mins from the wharf where the whale watching tours are and that is 12 dollars by cab. It is walking distance to Luke’s lobster for the famous sandwiches. There is a nice Marriott store in the hotel which all Marriotts don’t have now. You can get snack, apparel and Knick knacks. Main tip: do not buy CIty View trolley. It is a good mile to the stop nearest the hotel. We made a mistake. You should get the Old Town trolley which is right outside the door. The duck tour is also just outside the door too. Read less

I am very particular about hotels and generally do not like them. However, I felt very comfortable at the Copley. The hotel was perfect for our stay. Rooms were roomy and clean. Location was great! Kim provided valuable help to us that allowed us to make the most of our stay.

I generally do not like hotels. But I understand the necessity, so when I stay at a hotel I do a lot of research. I chose the Copley Marriott for a five-night stay when I went to Boston to visit family (I'm from there). I am going to write in bullet points to make it easier to digest my review. Lobby: The lobby is very inviting. It's not huge but it's comfortable. In the evening my daughters often went downstairs to the lobby to hang out. Plenty of chair and table and very clean. The Room: It is a little small and it beggining to show its age, but they are super clean and well maintained. My daughters asked for the comforter to be changed and that was done right away. The room was cleaned every day, and early. As soon as you leave your roo in the morning, the housekeeping staff seemed to be read to clean right away. The location: This is the biggest selling point. There are few, if any, hotels in thr city that are more convenient. There is a high class mall on one side of the hotel, with restaurants Read less
