Stayed for two nights. Room was clean with nice bedding. Mattress too soft for my taste. Bathroom clean with nice towels. The Tufts Medical center across the street is a negative as ambulances can exit in the middle of the night with sirens on. Also there was some type of motor running on and off at night over the bathroom ceiling loud enough to wake you up. Staff was professional and friendly. Surprisingly the food was very good for a hotel; had the clam chowder which was not the best I ever had but not bad, however the fish and chips was delicious. The bartender was servicing all the guests Saturday evening, he could have used extra help as the place was packed. Parking was on property convenient but at $55 per night on the expensive side. Easy access to the T, Orange line and to China town. Overall not a bad stay. Read less

The original listing i booked said breakfast included. When we arrived, there was no complementary breakfast. It was an extra charge. Extremely disappointed as free breakfast is why i chose this hotel.

This hotel is in a great location. The subway is just out the door and most of downtown's attractions are within walking distance. The hotel is clean, the staff helpful, the valet service excellent, and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable.

Hotel was fine, sparkling clean, top Hilton quality. Front desk staff were uniformly great. Maybe we were lucky, but our 5th floor room had a great view of the city skyline. Great location too. 4 stars instead of 5 because the place is so darn expensive! Limited breakfast items were spendy as well.

I'm an Hhonors Gold Member – we stayed at the Doubletree Boston Downtown for the marathon. I was originally booked at the Hilton BOS Logan which, like most Hiltons, has a reasonable 24 Hr Cancellation policy. I switched to the Doubletree so I could walk to the marathon buses and finish area. When I booked the hotel, I was shocked by their 15 day cancellation policy. What major hotel chain has a policy like this? My take: Doubletree mgmt had doubts about whether the marathon would happen – so if the race was cancelled, the runners/guests would take the financial hit. This policy is in no way guest-friendly and, frankly, it’s insulting to your loyal Hhonors members. Btw, I emailed a hotel representative and asked if they’d waive the 15 day cancellation for this Hhonors Gold member – no response. Room 355 was quiet and clean. The downside: it had zero view and zero natural light (see image of the YMCA basketball courts, at a distance, from our Doubletree window). Also, due to its weird layout, there was a column (HVAC or support beam?) coming through our bathroom, limiting us to a tiny 3x3 shower. Water pressure/temperature were fine, though. The positives...The front desk staff were terrific: Welcoming and helpful with T-line directions, warm cookies & bottled water – plus they kindly put out apples & energy bars for the runners. We ordered once from the Wisteria restaurant – they were extremely busy, but the gentleman did a great job communicating wait times, and phoned our room when our takeout was ready. Overall: 1 star for management’s unreasonable 15-day cancellation policy. 2 stars for a dark room valued at $530/night (we used points). 4+ stars for the friendly, hard-working staff. For our next Boston marathon, we'll definitely explore other options. Read less
