Perhaps my expectations were too high as this was my first trip to Boston @ $275 per night. Appearance in photo’s was deceiving. Carpets in hallways & rooms were stained and smelled. Elevator at entry level did not work (last 2 weeks I was told) that required guests to either carry luggage up the steps or have assistance from hotel. The… Read more

The property requires 24 hour notice for rooms to be serviced . . . If not . . . Tough luck. Staff was pleasant and helpful . . . Items of issue were certainly outside of their control. Read less

This is a great location. Easy access to sites and food. I cringe at the missed opportunities though. The staff was friendly and helpful, but there were not enough of them. This is a great location. Easy access to sites and food. I cringe at the missed opportunities though. The staff was friendly and helpful, but there were not enough of them. Front desk was usually overwhelmed with guest inquires, incoming calls, and the usual checking in and out. Hilton is better than this. The elevator from the overpriced parking valet to the lobby was out. So my mobility limited wife had to climb stairs and moving luggage was overly cumbersome. Yeah, staff is available, but awkward to use each time you go out, and as mentioned limited staff. Moreover, I hate, absolutely hate this new trend towards skipping the daily cleaning. Hotels are going the way of airlines, stuff that was standard... making the bed, changing the towels, emptying the trash... is now a requested service, How soon before there is an extra charge for these "customary" services? items that used to be included... think airline luggage fees, and seat selection charges. Just not up to the Hilton Standards....could have been so much better with adequate staff, and actual services. We enjoyed our stay, but missed the usual Hilton experience Also the water temperature in the shower was set to scalding.... literally scolded my wife. Great effort by staff, but fear that Hilton is fading and endanger of becoming PAMAM. Spare me the COVID excuse.... we received no COVID discounts and hotel was 60% to 70% occupied. Could have been better. Read less

This hotel is rundown and dirty- not well maintained at all. The staff were rude and they were either unable to accomodate simple requests (ie towels) or did so with an attitude. I understand there are staffing issues in hospitality but that is no excuse for rudeness to customers or keeping a dirty hotel. Elevators were broken, hallways are… Read more

I understand there are staffing issues in hospitality but that is no excuse for rudeness to customers or keeping a dirty hotel. Elevators were broken, hallways are filthy- just not what you’d expect from a DoubleTree. Rooms are small and old. Do not stay on the side overlooking the YMCA unless you want to wake up to screaming children every morning. Read less

Good location in downtown Boston, next to Chinatown. In walking distance of most places in Boston. Only 30 minutes from waterfront and stadium. Right down the street from Boston commons and the freedom trail. Only negative is no self parking and valet is expensive.
