Email to Alice Fay after wedding! I am at the airport about to take off for our honeymoon but I wanted to email you to say thank you so so much. You honestly made my day so special and as soon as Ryan and I walked through the door, you made us feel like gold. Both families involved talked about how much of a difference maker you were that day and we all said how you made our experience the best it could be. It was so nice having you there with me and the small things you did for Ryan and I really meant a lot. I hope you know how grateful we were of you and thank you for everything Alice! Read less

We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights in June. We stayed on the 4th floor (gold level) which upgraded us to a concierge floor with complimentary breakfast and snacks in the evening. The location of the hotel is nice. We walked 0.2 miles to the duck tour location, which was a nice way to get a lay of the land. We walked 2 miles to the museum of science and it was a lovely walk. Other places we visited easily by foot include Newbury street, the library (saw a concert there in the courtyard and let the kids play some puzzles in the map room while it rained), the swan boats, china town, the parks/playgrounds and we even walked most of the freedom trail. The location was great for us. The hotel is clean. But there are areas where it shows its age. The carpet had stains and the wallpaper had some wear and tears. The door jam was broken and it didn’t allow the door to close properly. Though we didn’t complain or even ask, we were surprised to find a people inside the room fixing it- though we would have appreciated knowing ahead of time someone would be in the room. The food in the gold level library is excellent. One child of mine has a severe egg allergy and though he was limited to mostly cheese and crackers, the staff was able to tell us on most days which foods to avoid. Overall, it was a great hotel and we would go back again. Read less

Room a little tight and lacking plugs next to bed for electronics. Restaurant opens at 7am so which was a little late for my needs. Bathroom also small and not a lot of space to put out toiletries. Lobby beautiful and much seating for meeting people.

We have stayed at a few fairmont hotels and this one, in the heart of Boston, is brilliant. We are gold guests and the privileges that come with that are amazing. We are now keen to try other Fairmont hotels around the world. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Beautiful Main Floor, but two major concerns.

Noise is very audible in the room, power outlets don't work or unstable, door squicky, not a single hangar on the walls, electric wire stapled with a loose nail to the… Read more
The main floor is elegant, in every way, flooring, ceiling, furniture. That said, we had two major concerns in our stay (1) It is very uncomfortable, dated despite being updated. Noise is very audible in the room, power outlets don't work or unstable, door squicky, not a single hangar on the walls, electric wire stapled with a loose nail to the table leg, and pillows are very flat. If you have a neck problem, it can be so uncomfortable (2) You get informed upon arrival of additional hotel usage fee, mandatory for services that you dont usually get. There was no hint of this when I first booked the room Read less
