The hotel

In the thriving Seaport District, this feature-packed hotel’s just steps from one of neighbourhood’s biggest draws, The Lawn on D. The outside comes in at The Westin Boston Seaport District too, with its lobby greeting you with natural stone and wood, a vertical garden, and leafy trees. Delve deeper and you’ll find 4 bars and restaurants, each sharing its own take on all-American dining: there’s the contemporary slant at Sauciety, the Irish-American pub twist at MJ O’Connor’s, American grill favourites at Birch Bar, and local light bites at City Bar. When you’ve had your fill of the food, the Westin’s Laugh Boston comedy club presents local and national acts. And, if Boston’s sightseeing highlights don’t eat up every second of your trip, there’s always the indoor pool and whirlpool, fitness studio, and group runs guided by a ‘RunWESTIN Concierge’.

Booked a room here weeks in advance for a law school graduation. Hotel over booked up to 20 rooms. Management hiding in the back and would not face guests for hours at a time and not solving problems. Linda Wells was the only staff helping guests w/ refunds and gave wonderful customer service despite the disaster.

Amazing stay! Romold was wonderful to work with- we got a free upgrade during our stay. Great restaurants and bars right in lobby- there is a Starbucks also. Great views of the harbor! Will be back definitely!

The absolute worst place to stay in Boston. Everything from the service of the front desk team at check in, to the service at the bar and restaurant. The absolute worst place to stay in Boston. Everything from the service of the front desk team at check in, to the service at the bar and restaurant. The front desk agent at checkin on Sunday May 15th was the least helpful person I have ever encountered. I have stayed at Marriott’s all across the country, frequently vacation in Boston for work, and never have I encountered someone as condescending as her. She is a dis-service to the Marriott brand. I will never stay at the Westin and caution anyone who does. My husband is on crutches and needed a wheelchair for access and accessibility, and they denied him the wheelchair and any assistance. I have never seen or been to place that treats their guests as terribly as this. My Haitian husband was denied service or wheelchair assistance, even though we asked countless of times. Did not make us feel welcomed or taken care of, clearly they do not care how they treat their high paying customers. Read less

This is a great location, and there were many things about the property that were very good. First, the room was comfortable, spacious, and clean. We had a great view of Boston! The restaurant staff was exceptionally friendly, and the buffet was a great value! I loved how beautifully the food was prepared and presented. The avocado toast was a delicious surprise. The staff at the Irish pub and Starbucks were also super nice, and there were great cocktail options at the pub. The property was very accessible to all the restaurants and attractions in the Seaport area, and we enjoyed walking down to the North End and Faneuil Hall. What was less hospitable was the check in process. This can often be a problem at Convention Center properties, especially on busy weekends like this one, but the issue could easily have been avoided with better line management and customer service focus. If front desk staff was more aware of how the queue is forming to ensure that customers feel acknowledged (and ensure that customers are assisted in the proper order), the situation would be more pleasant for both guests and staff. In summary, my overall impression of this property is very good. It was a good value, and very comfortable. Read less
