The W Boston is an ideal hotel spot. Logistically, it's about a 15 min walk from South Street station, and a 5 min walk from the Boylston Street, Chinatown, and Tuffs medical center subway station. There is a great mix of both local restaurants, and a few well known chain stores. The rooms are very modern and clean, and the bed is the type of bed where you can easily fall asleep in it just by sitting down. I especially loved the Bliss products in the hotel room. A HUGE shout out to all who helped us during our stay; Anna/Leyani/Richard from the Whatever/Whenever program and kindly sent some goodies because of my husband and I's anniversary, Reggie who was so gracious and kind when he greeted us at the front desk. I unfortunately forgot his name, but there was another gentleman who I assumed was a general manager who I wanted to thank. There was a long line when I arrived on Oct 3rd, and he went to every single couple on line to ask if we needed anything while we waited. That showed a huge amount of empathy for incoming travelers, and I wanted to let him know that I appreciated and noticed his hospitality and kindness. There was also staff who stayed near the door to help keep it open whenever guests came in, which can't be an easy job during the colder weather and I recognize that. The housekeeping staff always made time to give a quick hello, even when they were busy cleaning the rooms. All in all, it was a wonderful stay full of an amazing staff, and I thank everyone both in front and behind the scenes. Read less

Not the best hotel we have ever stayed at. The mirror on our room was vibrating and needed readjusting. Furthermore, left the room at 9:30 am on the Sunday morning, came back and the room was still not serviced by 5 pm. We went out for dinner at 6 pm and the bin was still full from the night before upon our return to the hotel after the room had been serviced. Do not recommend this hotel, you’re much better off at the Revere up the road or the Intercontinental which offer much better service! Read less

We booked a room months in advance and knew we were getting in late the night of arrival because we were traveling from Manhattan. The hotel was informed and on the day of our travels, at 9pm they contacted us to confirm we were still on our way. We arrived around midnight. It was a Saturday night and the entire lobby was packed with people dancing and spilling out into the street, a DJ booth was set up. The doorman/bouncer wasn’t letting me get to the front desk because the lobby was closed down since it was turned into a night club. It so loud I couldn’t hear the hotel receptionist well, once I did reach her. Long story short, they gave away our hotel room and offered to downgrade us, pretending like they did us a favor. No apologies, no reason given. This is a $600 a night stay and they lacked the most basic of hotel service and hospitality. The night manager came out (older Latino man) and again, no offers to correct his staffs poor service or error, and instead he has a smirk on his face informing us that we have no options here. W is now part of the Marriott group and this manager would not even be bother to call a different Marriott, saying that was outside of his job. Not my first W hotel stay, but this will be my last. The hotel has outdated design, tired lobby furniture, incompetent staff and a lobby full of loud people not staying at this hotel. The walls are paper thin. The service was worse than most fast food restaurants. Unable to get a cab here because the police nightly shut down the street in front, due to the sheer quantity of weekend drunks. It’s not a fun party scene but a messy one full of young, early college age, amateurs. Read less
