We are friendly with many of the bartenders, valets, staff and even a few residents there so we are always excited to stop in and feel very welcomed. Unfortunately this experience was the complete opposite. Out server, Liz, was not very friendly even though we tried to engage in conversation a couple times. We were over charged for drinks and needed to dispute the bill but, had a hard time locating her and needed to walk up to the bar area. This experience won’t stop us from coming back but we will be sure to come on a night when we know someone reliable is working. Read less

I only stayed one night at the W hotel, and have been telling everyone about my wonderful stay!  Diego and Juan greeted me at the curb with a friendly hello. I was bit early for check in, but Chris was very accommodating and was able to get me to my room early. While he was working his magic, I was greeted by a really energetic Chovy and a very funny Corey. Janelle welcomed me to the hotel and Steven brought me a box of chocolates!   Daniella introduced herself and asked if I needed any help with navigating the city.  I was already impressed by the consistency of the staff level of service. When I reached my room I was greeted by an even more energetic employee named Paul.  A true Boston gem! My room was amazing and was very clean and spacious! The shampoo and lotion were luxurious! I called for room service and was greeted by name by Chris. I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable the bed was. There was some street noise, but it is expected as you staying in the the heart of Boston.  I slept perfectly fine and felt very relaxed. Cabo is an expert in his coffee-making craft and the hostess Maryangel's creation of the Tres leche french toast was my personal favorite.  Concierge Marianne was lovey and wished me a good afternoon. Check out was super easy. I was assisted by highly personable Evandro. All the staff at the desk were easily approachable and on point. Anna, Daryn, and Sharon were very kind and answered my plethora of questions. Riley asked me if I enjoyed my stay and wished me a safe return trip home. After I checked out, and walked away from the welcome desk, I was approached by Paul who  proceeded to hand me my bags.  I noticed that my wedding band was no longer on my finger!  I was upset and couldn't believe I lost my ring!  Paul saw my panic and scanned the area and noticed it immediately on the ground. I truly enjoyed my stay! Read less

A friend and I spent one night at the W. Great location. We went to the Wang Theater to see a play, and it was one block from the theater. The beds were comfortable. Clean bathroom! Good hotel gym. We walked to Contessa for brunch the next morning.

It's been a disappointing experience so far. First, they charge your card on file at 6pm if you haven't checked-in yet. Let me remind you that check-in is at 4pm. So you have 2 hours, and then they charge your card on file. I checked in later than 6pm, and wanted to used a different card - the response was, "sorry, you'll have to deal with finance… Read more

So you have 2 hours, and then they charge your card on file. I checked in later than 6pm, and wanted to used a different card - the response was, "sorry, you'll have to deal with finance to get a refund." What? I've encountered this literally never. What are they afraid of? They already have your credit card - maybe just wait until the guest checks-in? or midnight? not 2 hours after you CAN check-in? Second, the property is just not that nice. It's old, and it shows. There are tears in walls. The minibar was missing a door cover (!). The bath robe was used (ew!). Yes, they have add-on fees (even though this is not a resort - far from!). $35 destination fee per night (plus tax that's >$40 per night). But I'm ok with that IF the hotel was nice and the service was good. But alas. Oh yeah, I'm Bonvoy platinum and recognition is pretty minimal here. Bad service and run-down rooms. There was so much potential... Read less

We were at the W for a couple of nights before a company business meeting and how we loved this hotel. Everything about it was perfect! The location (restaurants, convenience stores, Karaoke bar), to the room, but most importantly the people and their commitment to service. Anna greeted us at the front desk and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. Mary Anne and Danielle at the Whatever desk were perfect ambassadors for the hotel as they helped us in many different ways. And there was Paul…wow! He was there for us every step of the way while also making his colleagues shine. We didn’t want to leave to go our next hotel for our meeting, but, alas, we had to. We still haven’t stopped talking about our experience at W Boston and it will forever be etched in our memories. Thank you for making us so welcome. , Read less
