The hotel is in a great location to go shopping and walk around some malls without going out in frigid temperatures. The fitness center was good-sized and had plenty of treadmills so there was no wait necessary for them. There was a fire alarm one evening and we walked down the stairs to evacuate; by the time we got to the 4th floor, the alarm was off. As we contemplated going back up the stairs or trying to find our way out via the door on that floor, someone on the hotel staff came through the door and saw us and motioned us to follow him. We went for an interesting walk through the laundry room and exited into what I think was a wedding reception. It was an amusing experience and we appreciate the friendly and helpful staff for saving us a walk back up many flights of stairs. Read less

The bed is super comfortable. And the location is very convenient. Close to train station and a lot of attractions. There are plenty bars and restaurants in the neighbor hood. The prudential center is just a block away.

We found the room to be perfectly nice with a great shower and comfortable bed. The walls are definitely on the thin side but fortunately our neighbors quieted down early. We appreciated the convenience to Back Bay Station and the upscale if sleepy neighborhood. But they have to be kidding with the food in this place. Room service is always expensive, but at the Westin it is astonishingly so. And the breakfast buffet? Fake eggs, cold meats, a few stale pastries and bagels, and fruit from a can, for almost $30 a head. Absolutely absurd. I stayed at a Hampton Inn the very next night, and their free breakfast was considerably better. Read less

A friend and I spent a couple of nights here and were disappointed. It's not the most expensive hotel in the area, but also not cheap. Yet neither of us was able to get a decent sleep in the two nights we were there. Yet neither of us was able to get a decent sleep in the two nights we were there. There was a lot of noise coming from outside the room - people talking in the hallway, laughing in an adjacent room, etc - that suggested pretty poor soundproofing. The beds also didn't seem to be very comfortable. With an experience that underwhelming, we wished we had spent substantially less money to stay somewhere else. Otherwise the hotel was a fairly standard Westin and was fine, but when the main purpose of a room is so that you can get some sleep and it fails to deliver, it's disappointing. Read less
